Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
Location: Gromas

The last time Matsu had been here helping someone get materials well she had been a jedi master and the knight was questionable. Helped solidify her opinion when she declined recommending him for promotion and the title of master and suddenly was being told she wasn't a real jedi. Amusing to the last now that she was here looking at the large mining droid she was standing on the roof of as it went towards the mines. Her robes simple with long black hair in thick braids along her back and into her outer robes. The phrik hilted shuri disc blade on her hip while information on the things within the company were going on. "So padawan do you knwo what you would like to make with the phrik we are getting you?"

[member="Rune Talrik"]

Rune, the Jedi Padawan in question that Master Ike was interacting with, was walking beside her, wearing his official Padawan robes that seemed mostly static despite the ambiant wind, the young man himself calm and rational. Although he has never really been to the gas giant that was Gromas ever before, and certainly never really landed on a gas giant itself either, the fact that he was beside a rather known Jedi Master among the people of the Jedi Academy Network was mostly calming him down and making him trustful towards the environment surrounding both Ike and the Padawan himself. If he would had ever gone alone on this planet beforehand, he would had probably found it so desolate that he might have judged it as a criminal hideout. Thankfully, he had gained some knowledge on this place before he decided to travel towards this planet and, therefore, he knew that was..... mostly not the case. In fact, this planet was mostly filled with mining colonies that are tasked to acquire various minerals. For what these minerals are used for is mostly for weaponry and electronic gadgets, and the most reliable mineral, and valuable, was phrik, something that most Bounty Hunters and even Jedi themselves usually considered to be very useful during crafting processes.

In any case, the main reason why Rune had come to this planet was to buy something that he should have actually predicted to buy much before he became a Jedi in the first place: a secondary set of weapons. Although he did have a blaster, he was such a poor shot that, for the most part, he didn't even bothered using it. He needed something else..... Something that help him fight against an enemy if he ever loses his lightsaber while also permitting him to not kill his opponent on the spot.

After Master Ike asked the Padawan a question as they stared at the mining droid heading towards the mines, he would cross his arms, thinking.

"Actually, Master Ike, I was.... I know this might sound strange, but I am searching to get my hands on new weapons that could allow me to fight if I ever lose my lightsaber. Although I am very curious about the Force, I am still quite inexperienced within its ways and, although I have no problem fighting unharmed.... I suppose you understand my point."

He would then head on to close his eyes.

"I... also want to use such a material in personal experiments of mine. You see, I am quite interested in technology, most specifically the arts of cybernetics. I do not want to dwell too deep into this subject too much, but.... I am trying to find a way to incorporate cybernetics within my body without severing my connection to the Force along the way."

"Well then we are more alike then you know padawan, I also enjoy technology and well with the force built into it. There are no limits at times to the things that can be done with it." More so here while exploring well there was a whole lot they could do and work on with most of her attention going to the motions and her forearm pad as she brought up some schematics for equipment. "With the phrik we can make stronger gear for some special things, with the reactive materials some mandalorians we befriended years ago we know a few things about crushgaunts and have been working on bracers for dueling to install lightshields on." There were other things they could work on and with like the channeling gauntlets and the armors or weaves to add to equipment.

"Hm.... These concepts of years sound really interesting, and I am not one to be usually impressed by weaponry."

Rune would genuinely smile back to Master Ike as she started explaining about how she and the people that were working in these mines were able to conduct crafting processes with the phrik that was present in this area to produce some weapons that sounded so impressive. He was already curious about how they would actually work in action, however. Although, like he said earlier, he isn't specifically somebody that is very interested in the likes of weapons and such, weapons were still parts of modern technology and he had to see if they worked properly before judging them as actually even remotely close from purchasable.

"If you do not mind, I would like to be able to see them in action before considering owning them. I have seen impressive-looking devices in the past despite my young age, and the most of them acted poorly, or were downright broken. Please do not consider my words as arrogance; I am a bit worried about using such new technology."

He would then slightly frown as Master Ike mentioned something about lightshields, a concept that he had never really heard about in the past.

"Lightshields...? You mean, shields that work the same way as most lightsabers do?

The Padawan would put his hand on his chin, slightly rubbing his fingers in his small beard.

"I... am a bit dubitative about such a concept. I mean, yes, it sounds effectif, but it also sounds dangerous for the user. Wouldn't it increase the chances of being amputated by accident?"

"No I'd consider your words wise, there is a certain amount of trust needed for getting objects and we have some at the temple. I rarely carry all the things I have made on me save equipment like the circlets and sigils." And earrings but most did not suspect the lovely earrings the jedi had to wear as important aside a few who knew they were calming and force enhancing. "Though a pair of the gloves might be on the ship with a tora glove." Another device she had worked on for augmenting tutaminis users to channel and store more force energy in chargable batteries they could access and create to power force enhancement.

"I see."

Rune would nod in understanding as Master Ike precised that she was only rarely keeping any such intricate all of her weaponry on herself, deciding to carry simple equipment such as circlets and sigils instead in order to not burden her too much in her travels, which was something that the Jedi Padawan was able to respect, seeing as this revelation meant that she at least admitted, unlike most creators, that her inventions can be very dangerous if not used properly. Admitting that your creations and inventions can be harmful and dangerous is one step closer to mastery when it came to Rune's own opinions on the way of the blacksmith and the engineer, which was something that he wasn't really capable of being, seeing as he was only but a computer engineer and a spaceship expert above all else when it came to mastery over anything else that wasn't entirely necessary when in a combat situation.

As Master Ike then talked about how she probably had gloves incoming towards their position, Rune would blink, interested already as he nodded in understanding once more.

"Right. I am already excited to see how fruitful your creations are, Master Ike, for you certainly seem to be a great blacksmith."

The Padawan would compliment in a polite, and surprisingly honest attitude, smiling calmly towards the Jedi Master as he is used to do nowadays in most social situations that.... did not actually involved lots of people he wasn't actually familiar with. He had already heard about Master Ike and her interactions within the Silver Sanctum Coalition thanks, again, to the records in the Library located within Coruscant's own Jedi Temple, and, because of this, Rune was no where near being shy towards one of his Masters, which was truly a thankful fact.

She looked at him and continued forward now, they could test and see what was there to use. For now getting the padawan some phrik for his own use was more important as she was going forward through the sections of the mine thy could see through. Sasori had been working hard within it and the mandalorians who worked for Chai La as bodyguards and smiths made some nice things for them. Their multicolored armor usually resting around the area but now they were out protecting the mining droids that were further underground. The surface had some of the crates of phrik for processing and droids working on things before her hands went into her pocket. "We shall see, there is always soemthign new to make and test. I know some of the items we made were well liked for their innovation but more then that the shields are a strong way the jedi can use to make sure padawans follow the lightside. Even if they can't use them the lightside sensitivity can detect dangerous darkside impulses to try and help teach them. The majority of supplies for those come from here."

Following at Master Ike's side, Rune would remain silent for a short while as they would reach the mines and pass through its multiple sections that were mostly guarded by armed Mandalorian guards, the latter people wearing armor that have been painted in various colors here and there. Their weapons were surprisingly impressive at first glance, and it was clear that messing with these guys wouldn't really mean that you will enjoy a very good time, which was something that the Padawan was fortunately aware of. After all, the one that has controlled a portion of his childhood was a Mandalorian Bounty Hunter himself, and, even today, he could still remember how cruel the man was, like most Mandalorian crime lords and certain bodyguards alongside officials.

But that was a prejudice on a certain group of people, something that Rune should not believe in, and so he quickly retracted those opinions to himself, deciding that it was maybe better worth keeping those in the deep corners of his mind then to let them reach his throat and reveal themselves to the public surrounding him.

Thankfully, for the moment, it seemed that most of the guards were heading towards another portion of the mine to defend the mining Droids, and so they would not hang around this area for very long, deciding that it was best to maintain the equipment in the best state possible in order to keep their jobs aloof. The most of them were gone, but there were still guards out here preparing themselves to reach the levels deeper underground with various weapons and offensive military equipment.

As he would notice this, the Padawan would slightly frown, admittedly a bit worried for these men's safety. Although he was unaware of the potentially dangerous areas beneath their feet, he hoped that they would come back safe and sound.

While Master Ike explained that there is always something new to test and create, the Padawan would listen attentively, then blink as it was revealed to him that the lightshields are actually a way to bring students to the Light Side, which made him curious, and slightly surprised at how intricate this whole explanation sounded like. How could a shield potentially detect such energy and aid the Jedi in their quest to bring their students back to the Light? For now, he would have to wait for a proper visual demonstration in order to see how it worked, because, for now, he was a bit skeptical about all of this.

"I.... see. These lightshields must had been very complicated to product, if they are able to sway a Jedi's very affiliation within the Force."

"Oh no no no it doesn't make them lightsided, it merely does not function id they are anything else. I suppose in a way if they wanted to use it though it could sway and convince them. We have been working on a way to have it better function and draw less force energy from the one wearing it though." They had been working and they were entering into the Sasori mines with more interest before the jedi master brought her hand up to make a small glow ball of light and energy. The droids working around them and she could follow the tracks with the mining sleds they had made. Around the probe droids that were left scanning moved stopping to update her datapad and Matsu went towards the lift.

"I see. Again, the means of producing such a strange-sounding device must had been pretty hard."

Rune would repeat, now in deep thoughts.

"I mean.... I don't know much about weaponry and how they are created, but, to be able to create a device that is able to absorb Force energy itself from its wearer must be something that has be done with the aid of Force Crystals, or something else that has the same functions of this mineral."

He would then look down, his hand scratching his chin constantly now at a slow pace, portraying is wide interest in the matter. Such wonderful technology that could combine both the usefulness of any device alongside the ways of the Force..... It could allow such great things, maybe even bring a new Age to the Jedi, a Golden Age of technology. If only he had at least one single blueprint to develop on, he could maybe start studying how to properly combine both of these... They could be very, very useful.

"This.... would be useful..... Master Ike, if you allow me to do so, I would like to at least gain the knowledge on how to use such technology, seeing as it doesn't seem like it is so rampant across the Galaxy for the moment. Of course, if you refuse, I will gladly accept this judgement and I will forgive myself for my overthinking soon after."

He politely asked, then would quickly silence himself as they entered the mines, now thinking that this pleading of his wouldn't lead really anywhere. He doubted that such technology could be acquired so easily from such an important economical figure and, besides, he also had other things to do too.

In any case, as they would enter the mines and Master Ike would use the Force to conjure a small ball of light, provoking a small gain of lighting around the area that was bright enough for droids to suddenly appear from the darkness, Rune, him, would look around, impressed by such machinery and mining strategies.

"These mines are truly astounding in nature... You must have collected a lot of minerals from all those mining operations."

Matsu looked at him and she agreed one some of the things. "yes it uses force crystals and techniques developed by jedi and other force sects over generations. We have been using what we find and on worlds like this the phrik goes towards other special projects. The gloves I was telling you about uses the phrik and a special weave created for the jedi to put in their clothing and it will add some protection." She kept moving throughout the area of the mine while she was looking at some of the things. "The veins of crystal on worlds and gemstones can be used. We have developed technology that can aid in infusing the force into pieces of equipment."

"I see."

Rune's answer would be short and simple, the young man simply astonished at how far people were able to combine technology and the Force itself nowadays. Back then, during the Clone Wars, people were still unable to invent such technology very easily. Hell, until today, the Padawan had always thought that it was simply impossible to actually do so. However, now that he had his clear explanations, maybe he would be able to product his own if he ever gets at least one single blueprint of any weapon that was built that way.

This would be so, so useful for his cybernetics... Maybe it allow him to use the Force to a greater extent with them without risking a complete disconnection to it, such as how Droids cannot actually use the Force themselves. Of course, alongside many, he had heard about the Legend of "Skippy The Droid", but..... that was a children's tale, a story so methodically and fundamentally implausible that only children or people with very low intelligence can actually consider it as true fact and an important historical event.

"Maybe I could.... produce my own technologies with it...."

Rune would think about it almost out loud, mumbling to himself.

"I still can't believe such technology exists..."

She had to think about it and all the hard work they could do while looking forward and ahead with most of her attention going to thinking of some ways it could be applied. She had a few while moving forward with most of her attention on the things. "You could, there is much in way of use and application. Though you will need crystals or the crystal weave to really infuse the force into things." She offered a smile on her face while looking over the phrik they had in the sled and sat over a few of the things. bringing up her datapad to work n some f the things. "We might have a few tricks that could be used but all technology will need someone who can use the force.

"Of course. Without the Force, I am afraid that such weaponry may be useless for those who cannot actually sense the energy around us."

Rune would agree, nodding to Master Ike with his arms crossed. Strangely, for some reason, now that this subject was brought to light, the Padawan couldn't help but feel as if he had always been using the Force in some way or another, even when he was younger, where he didn't had full control on it, nor did he even had the knowledge on his Force-Sensitive state. The fact that the latter was a secret to him for most of his early child life is strange, to say the least, and, already, he wasn't even able to imagine how he was able to live through such a dangerous world that was their Galaxy unharmed without the Force.

Maybe the Force was there all along, guiding him along his path and carefully pushing him away from danger, just like when Master Saratzi met him back in Karth Den's hideout, the place that he had been kept with within the Coruscanti Underworld for a great amount of time while his father was in captivity. People would call this luck..... but, as a wise man once said a long, long time ago: there is no such thing as luck. There was only the Force.

And then, an idea suddenly popped his mind, making him frown lightly and rub his hand on his chin once again.

"For some reason.... I think I just got an idea."

He would stare at Master Ike with a blinking facial expression.

"I know this might sound impure, but... I have a feeling that, maybe, just maybe.... There is a possibility that we can actually give the chance to the non-Force-Sensitive to feel the Force with such a technology, if further studies are made, of course. Personally, I would be glad to participate in such studies myself."

Matsu was looking at him with his idea as she leaned against the sled while looking over it with most of her thoughts to his idea. "There is ways to teach non force users to feel the force but it is hard and a dangerous skill.that the sith have made. I do not know if it would be even possible for anything other then a sith sorcerer." She thought about it but wasn't certain before her attention was going towards the really cool things in the mine when she saw some of her droids. A whole lot of information they were providing to her for it and the mines of what they had found within it all. Aurodium deposits for the company to be able to use.

"A Sith.... Sorcerer?"

This response from Master Ike about how a non-Force-Sensitive person could learn how to use the ways of the Force truly shocked Rune, almost making him freeze for at least a good time span of about five seconds before he would come back to reality, frowning seriously and looking down towards the ground.

A Sith Sorcerer.... No, there must be another way. Why would such an experiment with such an opportunistic concept involve the Dark Side in any shape or form? After all, isn't the Force both an instrument of the Light and Dark? A Master Jedi's experiments would probably grant full-on success in such matters if well-researched!

....

.... Where was this confidence of his coming from?

Rune's frown would deepen as he went into his troubled thoughts, ignoring the working mining droids that were minding their own business not far from their position. Confidence.... He would had never believed to have felt so confident on a project with such unpredictable results. In fact, it was so strange that it downright shocked him. Such an emotion was dangerous for a Jedi, almost as much as arrogance and pride, as all of these can potentially lead him to the edge of the Dark Side in not time. Not long ago, he has also shown arrogance right in front of Master Korr, which, even to this day, was a much terrible shame to him, so terrible, in fact, that he could not get his mind off of it within his dreams.

Confidence and arrogance were unfortunately personality traits that he was bound to collect after having been a mechanic in his childhood for quite a long time alongside his father, and, later, within the deep lower levels of Coruscant.

This had to stop.

"My apologies. I got way ahead of my own confidence once again. Please forget what I have just said..."

He would look down, his eyes closed. Forgiveness was not something that he feared to not receive, and he knew Master Ike would forgive him quite quickly. However, he wasn't able to forgive himself to have already drifted himself slightly astray from the ways of the Light until some day that would follow after today.

She ws looking at him and the idea came to him before she spoke. "It is alright and it is a path that has problems. There is a reason the jedi never tried it to my knowledge. THat is because the ability is addicting to the one doing it and the one receiving it. The more it is done the less time it lasts and power is addicting. Jedi with a little power can go dark, imagine those who do not normally have the power, receiving it and what would they do to keep receiving it?" She asked the question while looking at him. THere was other reasons it was temporary like a force user would likely have to maintain the connection for the duration if they wanted it to last longer and that is why the sith did it for so much time in one spell. They gave up enough energy but could recover to do it again.

Ah. Now Rune understood why it was such a bad idea. In a matter of not even a single minute, the Master Jedi that was beside him was able to correctly explain to him how messy of a thing his idea was and how exploitable it could possibly be in the hands of non-Force Sensitive, and the Padawan had to admit that, no matter how precise the explanation was, he was a little bit shameful to not have actually thought this through before wanting to perform such dangerous experiments in the first place. Sighing, he would nod to the Jedi and reply to her question, giving her the answer that could potentially end this little discussion.

"The non-Force Sensitive, with such power..... He or she could potentially exploit it and use it as a mean to provoke terror in the hearts of the normal populace. From that, it wouldn't even be surprising that the Dark Side might gain a lot of supporters from this too."

He looked down, now ashamed. How a poor, poor decision of him to think only for the advantages over the disadvantages. Of course that would had been bound to happen! Lots of people that are unfortunately non-Force Sensitive in the Galaxy dream of becoming so for the greater good, but there was a greater lot of people that would want to exploit such a technology in order to provoke terror and chaos among the multiple societies in the Universe, and even the Padawan himself couldn't simply imagine how many wars and political debates that would ensue.

It was so futile.... Now he understood why the Jedi refuses to create such technology.

It would only make the Dark Side stronger over the Light, maybe even completely dominant, and another Emperor would probably rise up from the ashes of such chaos and destruction.

"I'm sorry. I should have thought about it thoroughly before proposing such a terrible idea..."

"It is never a terrible idea to want to help peope, you see suffering and believe you can aid them by sharing what you have, The galaxy is easier for you so why wouldn't it help them. This is not something to be ashamed of but it is something that should be nurtured and given wisdom. I would never tell you not to try and help people but try to see it from all of the angles." She had the sled and pushed it looking at the phrik. "Like this ore, yes it can be used by the jedi for good but there are ways it can be exploited but that does not mean we shouldn't try and use it to better help and understand. Just means we need to be careful with it."

"I only it were so easy to be careful...."

Rune would slightly sigh as Master Ike told him about how having knowledge and wisdom of the Universe wasn't a bad thing and that he was allowed to share it if it could ever help the people in need, but that he would need to find another, safer way to make such things prosper among the various communities of the Galaxy without creating conflicts, or aiding the black criminal market in any way. In some way, this thinking, although true, was truly difficult to respect, seeing as, for the Padawan himself, creating many things usually works the same way as giving people something to use and to take advantage of in situations where they are in true need.

Shaking his head, the Padawan would look down, close his eyes, then open them once again. Best to drive themselves away from such convoluted and controversial subjects for now.

"Are we close to the weapon factory, Master Ike?"
