Rogue One Review Thread (SPOILERS)

I think what made me appreciate this film the most, and what sets it apart from The Force Awakens in particular (A film I absolutely love, must say), is that it truly caters to the older audience in the most beautiful way. It is not afraid of being morally ambiguous, violent, or straight up heart-crushing. That is incredibly refreshing to see in the Star Wars universe.

My greatest appreciation in the film goes to the simple fact that Jyn and Cassian did not kiss. They just held each other, and it made it all the more powerful.

Loved this movie. There's nothing better to me than when a Droid has sass. K2 was a perfect amount of sass, and when they killed him I felt my heart tremble. Hell, when they all died I felt my heart tremble. Even when it was expected, it was still able to pull the heartstrings and remind me that this was war.

A war between the Glourious Empire against a ragtag group of rebels trying to make a stand. They were outgunned, outmanned, and even though they got the plans and technical ally succeeded, almost all of them died. It really stapled the fact that these rebels are only fighting because of hope.

10/10 by far my favorite movie out of all of em.

I just got home from seeing Rogue One.

Just wow....

Wow....

It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire film; quite literally.

I would sit on the edge of my seat and watch as small little things that were once placed under the 'Legends' marker were brought out and placed back as Canon.

The Juggernaut that Jyn was being held in (though not marked in the 'Legends' umbrella; was still nice to see on the screen again).

The Hammer-Head Cruiser which was brought up with the line of "That Star Destroyer is disabled, bring up a Hammer Head Cruiser, I have an idea".

The TIE Fighter Variants fighting it out around the installation.

Along with all the new resources that they introduced as well; as we get to see Jehda and its history of once having been a Jedi Temple world along with a mention of the sect that protected those temples before the Empire arrived.

I have tomorrow off; which means I will be seeing it again.

I get paid Wednesday Night and have Thursday off, which means I will be seeing it again.

[member="Sorel Crieff"] [member="Tefka"] I dont know if you two were joking or not, because I had came to this realization too, but then I realized that the "Many Bothans died..." was for the plans/info of the SECOND Death Star, not the first, as it's spoken by Mon Mothma in Return of the Jedi. Then I felt better about everything.

seeing it a second time with my nephew who watches rebels.... once I told him that was the phantom "well why isn't ezra and kanan helping" you hear Hera (assuming) being called over the coms in the base. Now I am actually curious about what might have happened to them and if this will be the finale arc of Rebels.

and seeing it again i realized why I liked the battles so much more. Sadly it wasn't clones and droids or gungans we never met and droids or the fights that are good but limited by the technology and time they were made. Endor and Hoth were cool

but then you see scariff where gunners are taking out the legs of the walkers and remember hoth where they struggled and could have used one of those turrets.

and Donnie Yen so much badass and coolness. Hopefully when he said there was a books worth of backstory to his character he wasn't kidding. I'd pre-order it right now.

[member="Valiens Nantaris"] possibly it could be cool kind of. granted really in a fleet battle Hera would shine so the others would need to be doing something or something has already happened to them and that is why Hera goes to try and get the plans knowing it could be a suicide mission. Much like Ahsoka leaving the jedi order in time for Episode III, I imagine they have something to remove or keep them away from major plot points that could cause holes.

also thinking about it now... vader's hallway scene badass but that one rebel trooper with the information.... he could have given that since it was important before the whole everyone around me is dead and you are barely going to get out by the skin of your teeth moment. They could have so gotten the plans and then been trying to the door.

I was gonna write this a couple of days ago, but then my computer crashed and I never bothered.

But can I just point out how refreshing it is that Jyn and Cassian didn't end up in a really cheesy kiss scene? Adds so much more value to their friendship.

I'm one with the force the force is with me! I'm one with the force the force is with me! Nuff said.

I loved the film start to finish. Above all I'm glad to see the realism involved and an Empire that can finally shoot straight. I was happy with the ending it really fit perfect showing no one had plot protection armor. The movie exceeded my expectations.

Echoes what everyone else said about how great the movie was.

Tbh, my favourite parts were everything during and after Scarif. I feel like everyone who has actually invested time into being a Star Wars fan knew they were going to die at the end, but once you saw the Rebel / Senate people saying 'HELL NO WE'RE DISBANDING' and Cassian brought up the volunteers, it was clear how it was going to end.

But the best parts were the deaths imo.

Not even the main cast's deaths, just the extras that were going around. Like, when the defector pilot, (forgot his name lol) was racing back to the ship and the Rebel soldier saw him and got out of cover to draw fire. That had me in my feels.

The ride or dies man.

4/5 cuz i nearly fell asleep in the first thirty minutes.
