RP Pet Peeves?

Do you have them? What are they? What do you do about them?

Personally, I have one big one: when people commit to a thread and then never post.
Sidebar: what's worse is when people commit, wait three days, tell you they're about to post, and then don't post, but post repeatedly in other threads.

Drives me nuts!

I know that feel man, gets really annoying when that happens.

A personal pet peeve is improper grammar. While I know people make occasional mistakes, if it's a constant issue, I begin to go a little crazy and feel like a Grammar Nazi. Ugh.

God like force users... I have always played mine conservative because they are not all powerful. That's something the majority of writers here do not understand.

Tech that makes you a god... There is some pretty cool stuff here... some of the stuff people have made though would really be hard pressed to pass as scientifically possible even in a fictitious universe.

The basic premise here... The best fiction always keeps facts, rules, and laws, of the universe as a foundation.

It's petty, and there's often good reasons for it...but I cannot stand poor spelling and grammar. This is a mode of entertainment entirely based on text, so jumbles of text with no punctuation or paragraphs does annoy me.

I'm not asking for perfection, but for an effort to be made.

The disappearing act. When a writer disappears for months without a word to the people they're in the middle of storylines with.

Even better? When they come back and think nothing has changed. No. You've been gone for months. I moved on without you. You don't get to keep your spot IC. You were a big deal before you disappeared? Not anymore, buddy. Work towards it again.

I...

*thinks*

I don't really think I...have any. Not as far as RPing's concerned, and not consistently. I used to care about a lot of the stuff people have mentioned, it all used to bug me, but nowadays I can do a thread with a tech-happy illiterate Force God unreliable poster and just shrug, most of the time.

Oh wait, no, I do have one. Sneering passive-aggression that's not explicitly IC. I see that, it's clobberin' time, or I just shrug and nope out.

ASHIN SMASH!

The rate at which someone will pester your crafters/alchemist types for some cool bit of tech/trinket, and then when the sub is written and you say 'ok, this is gonna probably need X posts for dev' and suddenly they vanish like farts in the wind. QUIT TOYING WITH MY EMOTIONS!

Or people amping up about a plot arc, plotting threads, maybe even making a post or two, then just... Poof... Gone again...

I can empathize all manner of empathy. Remind me to walk you through some of the tricks I used to get dev done for AEI.

I have a several decade old bottle of whiskey i'd share with you if you can help with that...

Or the even more fun one... You craft a bunch of crap for someone/help them with their subs/plot arcs/stories, and when you turn for yours... Tumbleweeds roll by...

When someone writes a Sith that looks like they belong at a my chemical romance concert and they have like a scythe and wear guyliner.

And [member="Keira Ticon"]'s is when people use Mandalorian words for their names. Like straight up someone had the name Merciless Vengeance. So much face palm
