RP Pet Peeves?

cute.
There could be an argument there, to be honest. Part of the reason I'm weaning myself off of my old site was because the very thought of something happening that didn't have the express and explicit permission of every last conceivable involved party was anathema. I mean, I can understand eye-rolling at Shooty McUbergit because he's adding nothing to the story, but the idea of an open thread is that it's, well, open, isn't it? Unexpected things happen. Unexpected things force on-the-spot thinking (IC, at least).

Not to roll into your pet peeve and wreak havoc just because I can, or anything. :p

Nono, i don't mind when ppl join and stir up stuff. Just not...when they arrive with a ship and start blowing ppl up cause 'Oh hey, there are guys i dont know. Lets shoot at them'. Or just jumps between two characters talking and triggers their lightsaber like 'Hey i wanna fight you for no real reason'.

Or my all time favorite. Firing torpedoes at a wedding.

-God mode lightsaber duelists. How do you master seven (or more) martial arts by age 23? Or whatever ridiculous age.
-Vaapad users. FFS it died with Mace/Depa. It's Juyo, and even then, as a Jedi...why?
-Emo Jedi/Grey Jedi. We get it, daddy didn't love you enough.
-Ridiculously powerful Force powers like Storm, Dark Transfer, Battle Meditation, spear of midnight black etc being used by virtually everyone. It cheapens the rarity/power of it.
-God mode Force users. Screw off, not all Masters were world-destroyer levels of power.
-20 something year old Masters/Grandmasters. Again, cheapens the accomplishment. Why are people scared of playing a 30+ year old character?
-Falling to the Dark Side because you have emoshuns and your mean Jedi parents don't understand. Again: cheapens it so much. Sith/Dark Siders are generally selfish and evil not sixteen year old Linkin Park fans.

Order the food now, I'm on my way.

I forgot to add: Writers who don't study source material. Jedi Knights can be emotionally conflicted but, by then, they are wise/strong enough to overcome these things. Padawans are prone to outburst, not full Jedi. Sith writers sometimes make me cringe. They're either MCR fanboy/Anime emos or Snidely Whiplash cartoonist evil. I seriously expect them to tie women up on train tracks. Or total nutjobs murdering left and right. Vader, Bane, Sidious, Krayt, Zannah...all killed with a bigger goal in mind. Bane even told Zannah there was weakness in simply killing for no real purpose.

Mine is...

People with no sense of humor, especially when it comes to their own characters. Laughter is good for the soul, or something.

One pet peeve of mine is when someone I'm roleplaying with makes a post I cannot react to and does not progress anything.

Worst offenders write paragraphs of narrative about the flawed nature of my character and no actions done by this person's character in same post.

inb4 one of Alric's accounts posts "Characters that come back from the dead."
