"Well that's an epic fail." Vassara said to Silas. She sighed, leaning forwards into the controls to get a better look at the shortwave scanners and his position in relation to hers.
"Bail now?"
"Naw, I wan't to see what this guys up to. Stowaway, you're up, get to the airlock and get me this guy!"
She moved in closer now, almost touching her own airlock to the other vessels and readying her fingers over the holo controls to open the airlock for Laura. If the other guy was really trying to off her, she'd have to find out who he was and where he really came from.
A spacers debt in blood is always repaid with vengeance.
She could still hear the words of her father, now long dead, bouncing around her head.
"Don't kill the guy, just sneak in and connect our airlock to his, so we can board and get the drop on him."
"This is a bad idea." Silas retorted.
Vassara shot a sidelong look at him, throwing daggers with her eyes.
"Well you got a better Idea on how to do this? This guy might tail us and we don't know who he is or what he's doing trying to challenge us. I'd rather be safe than a pile of space dust."
Silas grunted, running a hand through his hair.
Vassara opened the comms again.
"You're code checks out, hold on, we're going to link up so we can talk and discuss mission strategy."
Yet another lie. Today was fast becoming a day of lies. She picked up her shotgun, placing it in her lap and running her free hand over its smooth buttstock, lost in thought...
