Song Steel Construction: The braided cable is made of songsteel. This makes it very light, and incredibly strong. It's highly resistant to being cut by almost any means, including lightsabers. It has up to 31 meters of this lightweight, thin cable.
Electrocuting: A strong electrical current is able to be generated through the cable that makes it glow slightly yellow. This allows it to be even stronger against lightsabers, however, it also can cause the electricity to go into a captured target to stun them.
Grappling hook: The system is strong, and doubles as a grappling gun. It can fire out the cable with great precision, can use the micro tractor beam and winch system to haul the individual up. It can haul up to 200 kilograms.
Very small: It's small, lightweight and compact design allows it to be mounted from a wrist launcher.
Capture at fairly close ranges: While it has a lot of cable, it's reliant on being at fairly close ranges to accurately and correctly capture it's target.
Electrical Current and winch shares the same power source: Only one can be active at a time.
Wind: Wind plays a big factor on where the grappling hook will land at it's maximum distances, because of the light weight of the cable in general.
Corded Metal: While still very powerful, when compared to a solid bar of Songsteel it isn't as resistant. Given time, a lighsaber, or even a well made vibroknife, will be able to cut through it.
Unable to take a beating: Due to the precision with which the winch and the micro-tractor beams work, the machine cannot take any real rough treatment and expect to continue to have those two aspects still functioning correctly without some minor repairs. This is also a factor after a more aggressive capture where the prisoner struggles more.
The device was designed to be small and compact, able to fit onto a wrist launcher. It is a high precision device, able to fire braided songsteel cable at high velocities to wrap around, and subdue potential prisoners. It entangles their arms, and legs, as well as can provide an electric shock to bring down the targets. The powerful cord is very hard to cut, be it with vibro-knives, blasters, or even lightsabers, due to the songsteel construction. It becomes even more resilient when under charge.
To give the item more versatility, it was also able to be used as a grapple gun. It can fire out, and it's micro-tractor beam at the end activated, but because of its low mass, it was instead pulled to the object it tried to tractor. The strength of the beam would then hold as the onboard winch would then pull the user up at a decent speed. Care was taken to make sure that the force would not dislocate the arm of the user, so it had a slower start up to keep the sudden change in velocity from jerking it out of socket.
Over all, it was a well crafted little device, that gave more options to the user, especially when it came to non-lethal capture of civilian targets.
“So, this little thing is nifty. Bounty Hunters and Mandalorians all love it. It can shoot out here, wrap around and subdue. It's a good way to not kill someone. Though, never forget to build a stun setting into your main blasters. But even those can shock the nervous system and kill if you aren't careful. Or when dealing with little kids or the really old. So! This was my solution. Not pretty, but I think it works!”
