Salvage Yard

You might not be a Duros, but you’re still a hell of a pilot. He had heard that from one of his first squadron commanders. And now look at him, up to leading the Tibruon squadron, when they weren’t being commanded by Commander Starchaser. Captain Cuan Kunn was really pleased with how his military career was turning out. Cuan was doing a good job with the Tiburons, they may not be the Rogues or Cobalts, but they were the first group in from Starchaser’s own battlegroup. It was an honor group really.

But enough backstory. The Sullustan gripped the control yolk of his E-Wing. Looking over his shoulder he saw the point of concern, that sled. The one carrying salvage goods? Yeah, that was going to get pushed through the same path he was. Pushing the throttle up a little, Kunn hit the next ring and the magnetic pull threw his fighter forward, another ring and another before diving. He had only a few to go. Three. Two. One.

Free.

“Whew…” came the audible call from Kunn over the radio. There were a few other fighters out in the yard, as we as an escort carrier to give assistance should anything get too bad. “Who’s up next?”

Nuuc wasn't a fan of flying X-wings, but in order to train with some of the best in the Galactic Alliance, he accepted that he would have to leave his beloved MRF-1 with the Salvation and work with it. Not that he hadn't flown one before, it was just... different. Or at least he felt that it was different. On paper they were quite similar, though his favorite fighter was a bit larger, and could hit a little harder.

Maybe X-wings are better for this, he thought to himself, realizing that the heavier central cannon and larger frame of the MRF-1 would probably be more of a hindrance than a helper in an obstacle course with magnetic rings like these. Smaller frame, better maneuverability, less chance of smashing into something.

It was a good idea, he thought, getting to train with them. While he wasn't an official pilot for the Alliance's many starfighter squadrons, his ship often provided support to them and their allies, and it would be helpful in the long run to know their tactics and how to best provide support for the way they flew. Besides, a little extra training in a dedicated course amounted to a much more exhaustive and beneficial experience than simply flying through asteroid fields in makeshift exercises.

Though, in Nuuc's experience, that could often be extremely entertaining.

He ran a final check of his flight systems and controls before getting off the ground, taking to the sky.

"I'll take it," Nuuc said over his comms to Captain Kunn, holding off on the throttle as he awaited a response.
