SARI's Body (Enigma)

SARI liked that idea. "A hovering droid sounds good. And if things get hairy, I can just use the droid to put me in a computer so I don't get damaged. nice thinking," She said. Then her form vanished.

Carefully, Circe plucked the datachip out of the mainframe the former Sith Lord had installed her in. SLowly but surely, she carefully walked over to the holoprojector, trying not to risk any damage to the already centuries-old chip. With that, she carefully pushed it into the input slot and waited to see whether or not her attempt to create an artificial solid-state person would work.

"I really hope this goes off without a hitch..."

As the projector turned on, SARI's image wavered for a few seconds. Then, it balanced out and solidified. She looked down at her new form. Life-size and real looking. She looked at Circe. "Well, here I am. What do you think?" She smiled.

"I suppose there's only one way to find out what I think." She smiled, then stepped forward, moving to embrace the solid-light construct with a hug. She was tense, though - in the event that the solidity failed and she fell forward. "I'm so glad you have an actual physical form now, but I really want us to make another step forward."

SARI smiled, and hugged Circe back. "Yes. Now we have to find a hover-droid so I can move around," she said. "Building that would take a tremendous amount of resources, so I think our best bet is to buy one. Hope you have a few credits in your pocket."

"I do... and such platforms are common enough that it shouldn't be too hard to find one." She smiled, continuing to give the solidified holographic image of the AI a hug. "Do you feel that?"

SARI laughed. "Any harder and I might explode!" She teased. She was happy to finally be able to feel a hug, and to be human-sized for a change.

"You're solid light... you can't explode." She smiled, finally letting go. "You're alive. Mobile. And fully capable of interacting with the outside world. But you're not entirely human... Should we take the next step with you, or not?"

SARI thought about it for a moment. "I just got a new body. There's so much I can do now that i couldn't before. I... I don't want to push things past their limits since everything is still so new. At least, not at the moment." She said.

"Do I at least have your permission to get to work on the next step? That is, making you truly human?" She needed a sample of Sari's DNA. The digital DNA could be converted to physical DNA with the help of a gene resequencer, and a body could be grown with that.

SARI nodded. "I don't see why not," She said. "Take as many samples as you need." She held up her arms to signify that she was alright with it.

A nod crossed the head of the CEO as she extracted several samples of digitized DNA from Sari. This DNA was that of Sarina Reeve, preserved immortally within the coding that comprised Sari's AI. If this digitized DNA could be duplicated, Circe could theoretically grow a clone body based off of it. She could then perform a very complex surgical procedure to transfer Sari into a droid brain, place the droid brain into the body, and use biofiber connectors to connect the brain to the body's nervous system. Sari would be able to quite literally experience everything as a human being once again. A micro-sized antenna, the size of a small human hair and buried well underneath her long locks, would allow for her to wirelessly interact with her holographic hovering robot form - which in turn would mean she could still tinker with computer systems even as a human.

She would be perfect.

"Sari... You have the potential to be my greatest experiment of all time."

SARI smiled. "Oh, Cassie. You know flattery doesn't get you anywhere with me," She joked. This was going to be her first real chance to live. She didn't quite know what to think, or how to ever thank Circe for what she was doing.

"Of course you'll need to learn how to eat and drink to keep your body healthy... How to exercise too. And how to sleep, and how to dream..." She smiled. There was so much that could be done regarding what Sari would learn. "There are other things too. But I think I'll wait until you have a flesh form before elaborating more on that."

Of course, she didn't have to tell Sari that the body would take weeks to grow in a cloning vat.

"What's it like? To dream..." SARI wondered aloud. She had read in millions of accounts and such about dreaming. From what she could tell, it was experiencing a hallucination of some sort while sleeping. But was that true? She didn't know. It could be entirely different. She'd just have to find out for herself.

"When you dream..." Circe paused, finding it hard to give a proper explanation. "When you dream, it's as though your consciousness goes to a whole new place. A place where you can bend things to your whim, relive happy memories... Even create artificial ones sometimes." She smiled. "There are rumors people can interact with one another in dreams, but supposedly that's just hearsay."
