“Don’t move!” Adara yelped at Aaran Tafo, yanking her holo-recorder up to her eye. “The lighting is perfect behind you oh you look the most elegant please don’t move! Oh please!”
With that, Adara focussed her mostly manual holo-recorder and began snapping images for her collection.
“If we are all down here together? Would you mind terribly taking a holo-image of all four of us? My cousin and my ... my...” Adara’s cheeks went bright red. She swept her mahogany curls out of her face and looked over at Tuuli. “...
boyfriend... and Uncle Sloobieboo all together?”
Adara then paused, glancing up at the eight foot tall Anubian warrior known to her and Brigh as Uncle Sloobieboo, and glanced back at Aaran.
“We’re a blended family.” Adara held out her precious holo-recorder. The one possession which followed her everywhere, that she dug out of the ashes of Mandalore to salvage. “Pleeease. This is the first stop on our grand adventure and I simply must... absolutely must have holographic evidence that we made it inside.”
The 6’1” Epicanthix teenager bobbed up and down on the balls of her prim booted feet, wide expectant eyes framed by a face which, in retrospect, was a bit too pale. The bobbing stopped. He... wanted to stop them from going further in?
“Oh, but that is why I wanted to come so bad!” Adara hopped forward on both feet, clutching her holo-recorder in front of her. A gleam came to her black and red eyes, filled as they were with the very Dark of the Force which kept her alive since Jedi aided in her infant death. “My friends and I are... well, we’re running away. Mother never ever let me anywhere outside... especially without some form of military escort. I have to see it. Why don’t you come with us? It’s alright, you know. Uncle Sloobieboo and I can protect you. I promise, let us nearer the nexus and we can protect all of you to the point none will ever attempt harm on my cousin Brigh again. This... unworthy ruffian who thinks we’ll let him take her... he’s had every chance to get away. Thus, as he has not... he elects to receive the punishment which will fall upon him. All we wanted on Dxun was to run around and play a few silly little games. Youths stretching our wings, like fledgeling birds.
But this
James Cerensp... he will quite find between all of us, there are quite a few of us little birds, who bite.
Brigh is going nowhere but here. We are going to see the sights we came to see. And if I am completely honest, you are the very first Jedi I’ve ever met who has not immediately attempted to brain me with their lightsabers, or shoot me in the head. It’s why Tuuli is so protective of me. He’s used to fending off a legion a day of idiots who think my death brings justice, or some... accursed natural order I deny by breathing. So do be a grand sport. Come with us. Haven’t you been dying to see further in? All I want is to see it. Take some pictures... we’d be safer further in. You could help us, help protect Brigh.”
The more she spoke, the more Adara’s crimson eyes sparked with excitement. With hints of power incapable of being cloaked. This Dark girl, all smiles and harmless fun, but fuelled by the same power which continued dismal illusions and traps in which Aaran feared.
“Don’t worry, Brigh and I won’t let them harm you. And Uncle Sloobie, Tuuli and I will never allow harm to come to you, Brigh. Besides... these Directorate types appear to deserve what is coming to them. I hear the boys have it... oh. Hullo.”
Cloaking devices might work for the eyes, but sneaking up on a teenaged Force Knight who fed off the lifeforce of others took more than a simple technological cloak. Especially when a massive locked beskar door was the only way in and out of the tomb. Adara grabbed Brigh’s hand and tugged her further in, further past Aaran and Adara’s beloved Tuuli.
In between
James Cerensp and his quarry
Brigh Solus Skirae
, was a massive locked beskar door. The door was sealed the same as it had been during the tomb’s glory days, and remained intact.
“Come now, everyone. Shall we have a decent time in an amazing place with many many many wonderful things? Pleeease? You do sense how many wonderful others are here to stop the... confoundingly unintelligent mooks hunting Brigh. Come with us! Please! You can be in some of our pictures.”
