Science, and The Force

As the communicator struck her leg, Madeline froze.. becoming a statue at the sight of the active communicator. Out of any time of the day, why did that blasted droid contact her now, why now. Along with that, the more she thought about it, she had even told R9 Not to contact her.. However, if he was contacting her it might've been that something was going wrong at the corvette. Nevertheless, the point that we would be returning to the corvette gave her a great idea.. as the saying goes.. 'home field advantage'.

Madeline snapped back to reality before looking [member="Salis"] straight in the eyes. If she was going to play this right, she only had one shot.. Plan A was too.. bribe her with credits, Plan B, was too.. well do the dirty, and if that wasn't what she wanted, well it was time to use her ships defensive systems to save her life. Hopefully however she could simply just pay her way through this situation, and.. get away in a split.

"Look.. please, leave my ship alone, I beg of you.. I'll give you 10,000 credits, up front, Then 90,000 over time, just please I beg of you just leave my ship alone!" She said, begging to her captor, once again trying to gain some pity out of her.

Before long however, she would look down than back up to Salis.. taking what she said earlier into mind. "Or.. if you leave my ship.. you can.. well, have me.. for a limited time!" She finished off her sentence with a sigh in her voice, as even if it was apart of her plan.. she wasn't one for pimping herself off, for anything. However her life and ship depended on this and, to be frank, that was simply more important than her morality.

Sales clicked her tongue in thought, first at the credits, then again at the second comment, which in some sense seemed more appealing. However. She shut her eyes for a moment looking at the roof, “Not so cruel all the time.” She muttered to herself, letting out a sigh, “Get commas ready if necessary with images.” She ordered the 501 who immediately took an image of Madeline then headed out towards the cockpit, insurance. If Salis found herself with too much firepower against her, releasing the image with the title of thief and intruder and putting a bounty on it, might be just enough of a safety measure.

“I’m not that bad.” She said referring to the more unpleasant of the choices, “You better pay up on the credits, things don’t go well when people try and fool me.” She said waiting for more clarifications on how she was going to be paid, “But I hope we can meet again for less...unfortunate reasons. There’s always a job after this one. And there aren’t to many who can beat me when it comes to fighting.” She offered.

Sighing a breath of relief, she finally realized she had received her final stretch of luck. Of course, this was going to come up as a bit of a dentrement as she didn't simply have the credits on hand to give away, and ten thousand credits just out of pocket was going to hurt her overall bank, however, on a more positive note, at least she gets to keep something more sacred to her. Nevertheless, this was more of a positive note for the young woman.

She'd raise her head smiling at @Salis "Your.. mercifulness is.. greatly appreciated" She said as she looked around the room, crossing her arms, and sighing before looking back to Salis. "I have my credit bank information on my holopad, I will send over ten thousand right away, and over time I'll make payments to repay your final ninety thousand.." She pointed towards a holopad which was on her equipment pack.

And finally,"And.. well, after this engagement I might want some peace of mind from this planet, Although, I do appreciate your mercy and understand your.. reasoning. Under different circumstances, hopefully we can meet again." Madeline said, why as she was in no way one to hold a grudge.

However, before thinking for long she realized.. the.. amount she had offered and realized, that was simply going to set her back for months possibly.. and needed a way of shortening that sentence. "Look, I know I'm in no way of bargaining, but.. is there anyway I can shorten my 'ransom' to.. maybe forty thousand to make it so I give you fifty thousand in total? Please.." She said, with a soft tone in her voice.

Heh, mercifulness, sure. Guess that's what it is. Salis thought to herself as Madeline answered as to what she would do. She nodded again at the mention of hopefully meeting again under different circumstances with a slight smile about it. Then however came up the matter asking to shorten that amount, softly. The woman seemed rather meek...most of the time. She pursed her lips in thought,

"Gonna have to give me something to explain why I should. I'm not gonna put everything on me to figure it out." She said opening up her hands as if open to suggestions.

She paused for a bit, thinking on what she could give of course, in her galactic bank account she only had sixty thousand credits stored away, mostly gained from selling off her research papers, and doing other odd jobs. However, speaking of research, she could of course give [member="Salis"] one of her new inventions, nothing fancy, however useful in their own ways. And push comes to shove, Madeline could of course create something for Salis, could be anything, well anything within reason to get her out of this situation.

Before long she'd finally realize on what to say, "I.. Well, I know once again I'm in no bargaining position however, I have three deals, I can transfer fifty thousand credits to you straight away.. Or, I could possibly invent something for you, just.. give me an idea on what you'd want." She'd pause before moving on, as the next idea made her cringe inside however, getting off free, would be quite nice.

"Or.. you can have me, for a limited time" She said before looking down, saying this would simply make her horribly embarrassed, Likewise, losing no money is a benefit she could not ignore, especially with the fact her captor showed signs earlier.

Salis crossed her arms in thought as she listened to the woman begin to make her three offers. The first, the money, plain and simple. A typical bail of sorts. Second, an invention, could certainly be useful. Since Salis intended to minimize her apparent use of the force to an extent, a type of technology would help tremendously. Either a more advanced sonic cannon, a type of invisibility cloak for herself and droids, or a stealth technology for the ship. Those would all be helpful. Then the final offer, said with another looking down.

It was more free this time however then last time, so Salis felt a bit less concerned about such a thing. She thought for a moment stroking her chin, running a finger over the light scars on her mouth that had formed over time and use of the dark side. She stepped a bit closer, so that she was now standing beside Madeline her body facing an opposite direction but remaining shoulder to shoulder, and turning her head to look at Madeline as she spoke, "Let's have it this way, you can have the three options. Credits, most now, the rest over time. The invention, a type of stealth technology for my ship would be useful, a cloak to make me invisible and undetectable, or a weapon that can get through most armors that can be hooked into the ship. Of course, failure of these systems, would require a more considerable payment. Or, 10,000 credits, and we take that limited time. And maybe, we can remain on good terms?" she asked raising an eyebrow and awaiting a response.
