Hoth

Solan had not been on the planet in quite some time, his memories of those days dull and he couldn't help but wonder what things he had forgotten since then. Was there entire people he no longer could remember? The thought of that made him worried and brought him pause, made him think about possibly losing the memory of some of those he was closest to. He knew he needed to be more careful because if he wasn't it could mean the next time he was taken down he would either be gone for good or have to lose more of his past. Those thoughts interrupted as he looked up and found snow falling once again.

He knew well that he needed to get this handled quickly, not wanting to stumble on some Sith or Jedi who might perceive him as a trespasser. He knew well Hoth might be a neutral world right now but the world sat between the Sith and the Galactic Alliance, knew that the two forces would not be welcome to someone not of their order.

Really he found it quite vexing.

But he put that thought out of his mind for now, instead focusing on the path he had marked out. Long ago he had helped an old friend track down a vein of crystals, one that would allow for the creation of a lightsaber from the crystals. He wondered if they remained undisturbed and if so if he might be able to find one that fits with him. The bond of a crystal to the wielder was important, and while he could continue using of the sabers his children had, there was need for one of his own.

His mind remained distracted though, not noticing as he walked that someone would be nearby.

Cora pulled the collar of her coat up higher, burying her nose against her scarf. Winters on Ukatis could get harsh, but her home had nothing on a Hoth summer.

The rumors of Sith forces scouting Hoth were iffy at best, but the Alliance thought it worth an investigation.

So far, she'd found no concrete evidence that they'd been skulking around. The last box on her list to tick revolved around kyber mining. Permafrost crystal deposits were exceedingly rare, but the details on their specific properties were few and far between. Some texts insisted that a force-attune permafrost crystal was only cosmetic, while others believe they imparted a sort of freezing effect when wielded.

Cora didn't know if that was true, and while she was curious, her mission was to investigate any possible Sith forces attempting to obtain these crystals.

Stopping at the mouth of a cave to rest, she rubbed her gloved hands together and sighed. A huff of warm breath clouded before her.

"This cold air isn't doing my skin any favors." She muttered.

A presence drifted into the periphery of her Force senses. Something dark. Cora looked up suddenly, squinting through the haze of snow.

Solan had felt Corazona's presence around the same time that she had felt his, his nature in the force still somewhat free and allowing him to better understand the world around him. That did not change though that he knew this presence was in the same direction as the crystal vein that had been mapped out so long ago. He had to think about it for a moment, consider going wide around this presence but after taking his time to reach out and look through the force he was confident that this presence was no threat to him. They were clearly a part of the light, but it was only one person from what he could tell and someone he was confident that was not strong enough in the force to really harm him.

Of course, he knew pride like that could get him in trouble but with his hands in the pockets of his heavy thermal coat he would continue walking and soon enough the four winged form of the man would start to appear to Corazona's eyes. The man was bundled up quite heavily, but as he started to come into sight he would pull free a scarf and face covering, looking over at the woman who was stopped at the mouth of a cave, his brow rising at her.

"Hello! Bit out in the middle of no where aren't you?" He knew he was the same in that matter, that his presence here wouldn't quite make sense and as he got close the darkside would fall off him like a sickness. If she had any method by which to look through the force, his very being would look shattered and broken, barely contained in the body infront of her.

"I hope I am not wandering into something that is off limits?"

Through the snow he appeared. The ichor of the Dark rolled from him, billowing like smoke unseen. No immediate malice, but she'd met her fair share of Sith who hadn't radiated animosity the moment they laid eyes on a Jedi.

She smiled faintly at his friendly greeting, though it didn't quite reach her eyes.

"Not at all. Or at least, not that I know of."

Did these caves actually belong to anyone? She wasn't certain.

"I'm an archaeology student from the University of Bar'leth. I've come here to study the caves in this region."

Cora appraised the man before her, noting his heavy thermal clothing. One couldn't survive on Hoth without dressing the part.

"What about you?"
