Objective: To bring the paradigm of the Grand Scheme into focus.

Darth Ayra
had worn the disguise of Alicia Drey for all her life. In the late 830s and much of the 840s Drey had been a business entrepreneur who came to a large fortune shortly before her untimely disappearance at the advent of the Omega War. Now that Ayra was free from the hold of the Galactic Alliance to pursue the paradigm of the Grand Scheme the work had taken her the Meniium above Garqi. Today Alicia Drey was coming out of retirement and making a return to business where wealth so often led to power, and influence.

She had arrived on Garqi some hours prior to the arrival of the Meniium. Without a personal star ship to call her own Ayra had taken to using public transportation until she could reacquire the Initium, or organise the construction of a brand new ship to serve her as she traversed the stars. When the Meniium made it's invitations to board Ayra made arrangements for her to be transported from the planet surface up to the station. In her possessions was a curved Lightsaber blade; your usual technology found when traversing the Galaxy; and a portfolio of her former work in the agricultural sector with Chandrila Group and in the technological, weapons or ship manufacturing industries during her time as an employee, and later CEO of Subach-Innes, later rebranded as Emeritus Industries.

Then, of course, there had been the firesale of Imperial Remnant assets in the 840s after one of her subsidaries came into the possession of several Star Destroyers and other equipment. The liquidation of Imperial Arms Incorporated, coupled with a bounty placed on her by a former shareholder in Chandrila Group was the ready-made cover story she had invented in her mind for why she had retired from business if asked by would-be mutuals that she was now looking to make on the Meniium as an explanation for her retirement, and subsequent return to the fold.

Upon arrival on the station Ayra found a designated area to smoke a cigarette and bide her time as other enterprises, corporations and people filtered into the ship to attend the Trade Federation's conference. In particular Ayra found herself intrigued by this development because, during her formative years of study under the tutelage of her late Master, Darth Pandeima, and later efforts to collection Sith-dark side paraphernalia, she remembered the name 'Trade Federation' coming up in very obscure, old records that had survived the Four-Hundred Year Darkness.

Money makes the galaxy spin, as they say, and the Ex-bounty hunter and pirate knew all too well. It was true that Aloy Vizsla had cleaned up her image since then, but The Black Fleet was still at war with sith and imperialists abroad, not to mention her work on Mandalore. Black Hand Collective™ had been their legitimate business front for many years, selling stolen imperial technology and their own inventions to rebels and third parties with similar interests such as the Lothal Protectorate, who they had armed and even fought beside before they joined the Galactic Alliance.

And so, The Collective would participate in the Second Galactic Economic Conference with the intent to both sell their wares and to scope out competition who sold to or were sponsored by The Sith.

The Collective's display was unmistakably mandalorian, manned by warriors in distinct blue armor who doubled as salesmen, demonstrators and security all in one. Everything frombasic blaster rifles to Long range Naval Cannons and Advanced scanners for use in armor was on display, with veteran warriors who had used them all in battle after battle on standby to demonstrate the equipment's effectiveness and proper use.

Of course, not everyone was at their station. The odd Mandalorian could be spotted elsewhere in the crowd, marked by a strange handprint on their armor. These were the scouts sent out by Aloy to check the other displays, occasionally feeding data to her helm's display so that she could decide who to buy from and who to mark for future raids. The daimyo herself was stood atop a naval turret, keeping an eye on both her own merchandise and the other's.

HOUSE MECETTI NATIONALIZED INDUSTRIES
SHOWSPACE AND CONFERENCE HALL
AT THE TRADE FEDERATION CONFERENCE COMPLEX

This affair was just the sort of thing that usually made Casteban Mecetti glad that he had a son. Maldor was much more a 'people person' than he was. The young man enjoyed crowds and other sentient beings... or at least he seemed to. Whether genuine or artifice, such enthusiasm was essential for public interaction... and it was an enthusiasm Casteban lacked.

Unfortunately, his son Maldor had disgraced himself in the eyes of the Galactic Alliance, leaving Casteban to carry the weight of his position largely unaided. His wife was competent, but also too frequently consumed by Intelligence matters to help him in situations like this one.

Casteban lacked any love for the galaxy's so-called sentients most of the time. At best, they were means to an end. At worst, a constant irritant and barrier to his ambitions which needed to be overcome in order to achieve his objectives.

There were exceptions. Casteban had learned to appreciate people who were competent. Competent people were like useful tools, to be appreciated for what they could provide to advance the grand plan.

But competent people were few and far between. The average person was a stupid animal, driven by sentiment and hollow ideals, pursuing empty ambitions and achieving dubious ends.

Unfortunately, as both a politician and the de-facto owner of one of the Galaxy's large business conglomerates, he was forced to deal with the stupid animals of the Galaxy quite frequently. Herding Lolth cats was the only way to get what he wanted.

He did not stop at the Mecetti showspace, where holograms of Mecetti products were displayed in enticing sequences that showcased their strengths and minimized their weaknesses. No, that was for the grubby salesmen employed by the House and the petty warlords and small security forces that usually purchased Mecetti wares.

He moved past it to the conference hall he'd rented from the Trade Federation. There, he would give a speech about the direction of the House Mecetti Nationalized Industries. His family would be issuing an investment bond soon to generate capital for expansion efforts. But nobody would buy bonds unless they believed those bonds would be repaid. They needed to have faith in the direction of the company. And to create that faith, he needed to publicly extol the company's future prospects.

He climbed the steps up to the back-stage as an announcer came over the PA system of the conference complex.

Economic conferences were always fun to see... sometimes there were new and interesting fields of research... sometimes technologies mostly it was seeing a benchmark of where other groups were in the galaxy to compare to the Celestial forge and Sasori's research. THey were always pushing what they could do and between some of the things like the bangmangi and their extragalactic outposts which were getting elements from other galaxies. They had been working on improving their communications and dimensional engineering. Krass arrived from the High Plane with little flare.. just the matter catalyst allowing her to travel as she emerged with an Entanglement Biot flanking her and a Personal Assistance Biot that would bring a case for display. THey had a number of technologies always being developed and only needed a small amount to show off. An Off Hand Blade for some of their molecular disruption technology allowing a sword to be in the wrist compartment. THeir newest Zeo Class Weapons Platform which allowed them to go from pistol to anti-ship weapon on the ground. THe range for firing from planet to deep orbit something aided with the quantum crystals they had for power generation in the next generation of their weapons. Their droids were set up as an early stage Glydr Class War Droid was there. Looking no bigger then a buzz droid but it had the potential to get massive in size and armaments. A portable model of their Fabricator Mk.VII for some of the better advancements. ONly things they didn't have were their newest models hyperdrives and engines on display. THe force empowered one made for quickly traversing the hyperlanes they had charted to the companion and far flung galaxies.

Vulpesen let out a whistle as he looked around the conference from his own little corner. All around him were titans of industry with companies as long lived, if not older than his own. Of course, that didn't meant that the Vitae Security Forces were there to be passed over. While the people around him made specialty gear for jedi, commandos, and fleets, someone had to look out for the every man, the soldiers on the battlefield who just needed a good gun to grab from the arsenal. That was what had brought him such success. Given the age of his catalog, he felt that it would be best to focus on some of his newer additions, thus, the VSF had brought to the showcase, a single VSF-55 Lupa which had several weapons stacked in it.

Sat at the entrance to the boarding ramp was a single VSF-Mastiff, one which the Valde's men had leaned in quite a visibile fashion, a Bushdog, the full lineup of Wolf Claw swords, a Spaniel Diplomat's blaster, a set of Pug flare guns, a suit of Wolfpelt armor, and a holographic woman to represent a V.E.S.S. AI that could walk onlookers through what they were looking at. Of course, behind all of these things, and deeper in the ship which served as a miniature showcase, were all the models of his older creations. In truth however, Vulpesen was only nominally concerned with showing off what he had to offer. More on his mind was the prospect of finding new ideas for new innovations. His company's catalog might not have been anything to scoff at, but he always felt like it could be expanded. He just needed to find something worth said expansion.

When Ayra finished her cigarette she turned to find a nearby information panel to begin scrawling through the dignitaries that the Trade Federation had invited to the Meniium. As she scrawled through the various names, products and invitees Ayra found a particular name that stood out. House Mecetti of Obulette were set to be in attendance to the Conference. Intrigued Ayra brought up what the Federation had on Mecetti Industries. They were based in the Tapani Sector in a region of space known as the Colonies. She had passed through that region of space many times during her life in pursuit of the Work but had never come across Obulette nor House Mecetti until now.

As she continued to read her intrigue was increased. Obulette was a member of the Galactic Alliance and therefore Mecetti Industries were aligned to the GA politically. As Ayra scrawled through the information she discovered that the company were active in the weapons, defence and ship industries operating both as a supplier and manufacturer to the rich and abundant Alliance. The planet that they were headquartered even had their own shipyards. One name came up from the article that the Federation had prepared on behalf of House Mecetti: it was Casteban Mecetti, the head of the company and an important figure on his homeworld of Obulette. He would be in attendance of the Conference no doubt to conduct business here on the station.

What the Federation had prepared was surface level information designed to entice would-be buyers or possible investors to Mecetti Industries. But Ayra had access to other things that the Federation possibly did not know. As a recent recruit for the NSBI: an intelligence apparatus which worked in the Empire of the Lost to gather intel or perform other clandestine or covert operations on behalf of the Empire, Darth Ayra had access to files that the network had gathered on people of interest to the organisation.

When she typed Mecetti into her datapad (which had access to the NSBI network) Ayra discovered that the Federation had left a prominent name off the catalogue they presented for the conference. Maldor Mecetti was a fugitive on the run from the Galactic Alliance: a former representative of Obulette on the Galactic Senate who had fled Alliance space and migrated to the Empire of the Lost. Fascinated by all of this Ayra averted her gaze to the intercom that was playing above her:

"HOUSE MECETTI NATIONALIZED INDUSTRIES IS HOLDING A STATE-OF-THE-COMPANY-SPEECH IN CONFERENCE HALL THREE IN FIVE MINUTES."

Locking her datapad with an encryption and pocketing the device Ayra turned to make her way to the third conference hall to attend Casteban's presentation.

When the delegates and representatives from multiple companies convened at the Convention Center on board the Meniium-Scrani Industrial Station, the Trade Federation's Director was preoccupied with inspecting the Federation's Exhibit. This showcase featured civilian infrastructure like the Interlocking Agricultural Platforms and the Artificial Habitation Rings, as well as impressive Orbital Defense Weaponry such as the Hunderine Orbital Station, Tambor Starfighter Dock, and the Furazan Defense Platform. All these products were crafted to meet the highest galactic standards, reflecting the prestigious legacy of their founder - Gat Tambor who had served with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the New Imperial Order and even the Galactic Alliance.

After thoroughly inspecting the exhibit, attendees had the chance to explore all the booths available, carefully examining the products on display that they could potentially sell to inventors and shareholders at the Conference. The Director spotted a variety of individuals present, including Vulpesen Vulpesen from the Vitae Security Forces, Krass Wyms Krass Wyms from Sasori Research, and Casteban Mecetti Casteban Mecetti from House Mecetii and its nationalized industries. However, one booth in particular caught the Director's eye, as the presence of Mandalorian Warriors on the Security Feed raised some notable concerns. While they were not likely to cause problems within a Federation owned Station, it was thought fit to alert the Security Station to be prepared for any potential trouble.

Moving through the convention center for a short while until approaching the Black Hand Collective™ booth overseen by Aloy Vizsla Aloy Vizsla . Following behind was a myriad of high end security drones, Trade Federation Officials, Inventors, and some Scientists to provide some insight into the products before him.

"It is not often that we
receive the presence of Mandalorians, could you explain the function and purpose of the Long range Naval Cannons that you have on display." Laborr exclaimed - having some curiosity about the design of long-range naval weaponry. Although the weapon itself was of no specialty compared to the Trade Federation of Planet's designs it was vital to engage in some cordial conversation.

The steady click of black high heels echoed through the space, accompanied by a purposeful stride that exuded confidence. With her feline emerald eyes, Danger took in the array of names and companies that had carved out their place in the sector. From the Trade Federation to the Black Hand Collective, each entity had left its mark on the galactic economic landscape. Among them, she spotted the familiar name of Sasori, sparking her interest.

Clad in a form-fitting black wrap dress, Danger carried herself with poise, though her heart still carried the weight of her husband's recent passing. Eager to explore the offerings of the Second Galactic Economic Conference, she had ventured out herself while Aeri managed the section dedicated to Arceneau Trade and Vanir Industries subsidiaries.

For now, Danger aimed to wander and explore, hoping to forge new connections or glean insights from the presentations of other companies. It was a chance to engage with the bustling economic community and perhaps find opportunities to propel her own ventures forward.

Aloy could spot the host of drones and officials a mile away from her perch, but still Trade Federation director's arrival was unexpected. The Collective had by it's very nature remained obscure until recently, which was one of the many reasons the daimyo had taken this opportunity. The galaxy was changing again and big things were coming, requiring bigger and bolder moves than before. But she hadn't done either of these, not yet.

She leapt down not far from Rulonom Laborr Rulonom Laborr and his entourage, who were greeted by only a handful of Mandalorians. Enough to scare away thieves and raise brows, as they had clearly done, but certainly not a hostile takeover.

"It's not often we have the opportunity to demonstrate for such high profile company" she would greet him with a nod Mandalorians tended to, and gestured for him to follow if he wished.

"The NAV-1 is one of our newest editions, built to serve aboard ships and installations alike as both a turret or fixed gun. We're actually fielding them in the Mandalore sector as we speak, and it's become one of my favorites when arming my personal ships"

Even behind the visor there was a certain enthusiasm one could pick up on as the gunsmith spoke of her craft, dragging a gloved hand across the large barrel until she stopped at the large optics affixed to the gun.

"She features high magnification optics affixed to a Mass-driver cannon, paired with a sensory suite akin to those found on Star Destroyers.

You see, the common navy engages from close proximity like some kind of sea going vessel from a bygone age. My ships attack from outside the typical engagement area. Fielded in batteries like common naval cannons, these will overwhelm enemy shields before they get a shot off. I've taken to mounting them on interceptors and patrol ships, standard anti-piracy, I'm sure you know the drill"

"But," She raised a single cybernetic finger "We've been testing them in battle between capital ships with fine results. Additional models are coming, some more exotic and expensive, others for more common ships, but the doctrine remains the same"

"Call it... the long arm of pragmatism"

tf-site-header.png

D I R E C T O R

The Director of the Trade Federation had no previous dealings with the Mandalorian Culture besides connections with the Alor of Clan Ha'rangir and so it was a perfect opportunity to learn more about their technology and perhaps even adapt it into Trade Federation Standard Design Modules. Giving a respectful nod to Aloy Vizsla Aloy Vizsla , a gesture of utmost respect in the business realm, which was often filled with
cutthroats and corporate espionage.

The pair proceeded to examine the
the NAV-1 Long range Naval Cannons. The Skakoan meticulously surveyed the area, observing an increase in Mandalorian Warriors nearby. However, it seemed more likely that they were there to deter any potential troublemakers rather than pose a threat to him and his group.

He listened very intently as the NAV-1's purpose and functionally was explained down to the last detail to the Trade Federation Officials, and taking note that the weapon was already being exported to the Mandalore Sector for defensive use.

A highly advanced model of Mass-driver cannon would no doubt prove revolutionary to naval
warfare tactics as the battles could be fought over long ranges instead of close up offensive engagements. Less ships lost in combat meant a higher return on potential profits which was equally important to the profit-driven goals of the Trade Federation.

"Well this is certainly an impressive piece of technological engineering, and highly
adaptable to modern naval engagements. Although as you must know, once this new weapon is spotted on the battlefield. There will be an increase of heavier standard shielding arrays, which will lessen the advantage of long range combat. How does your company plan to overcome these changes?" The Skakoan explained, being impressed with the technology before him.

HOUSE MECETTI NATIONALIZED INDUSTRIES
SHOWSPACE AND CONFERENCE HALL
AT THE TRADE FEDERATION CONFERENCE COMPLEX

Inexorably, the minutes marched on.

It was a problem he'd grappled with ever since his son had encountered scandal and fled from Galactic Alliance space.

Time.

He was running out of it.

This had been fine when his son was positioned to take over. He had been prepared to wither away and die, his life's work complete. House Mecetti's future assured.

Now he had no secure heir for the House. Now he had no one he trusted to help with the House Mecetti Nationalized Industries. Now he had to be Governor, and Lord, and Senator, and CEO... and even Conspirator.

No rest for the elder Mecetti. It was weighing on him.

But he had to carry it.

He would carry it.

There was no choice.

The minutes marched on until the time came, and he stepped out from behind a curtain, walking up to the podium to address the gathered members of the audience.

"Greetings, and Thank You for Coming.

This has been a difficult year for House Mecetti.

I will not mince words or dissemble. The loss of my Son to acts of Treachery was both a personal loss for me, and a terrible blow to House Mecetti. Whatever his other faults, Maldor was a capable administrator of the Nationalized Industries. Under his administration, our company saw a doubling of profits in the previous year. There was concern that without his leadership, we would now experience a loss. There was also a concern that reputational damage would hinder our efforts to market the Mecetti brand effectively.

Fortunately, I taught him everything he knows, and there is more besides that he never had time to learn.

And so I have the pleasure of informing you all, along with our shareholders joining us on Holo, that the first quarter has been a profitable one.

Profits are up 50% over last year's already incredible revenues. Our Classic line of products has seen resurgent interest unmatched since the conflict with the Maw. Perhaps this is one of the few fortunate consequences of galactic conflict. For my part, I am gratified that the good people of the Galaxy have access to the most reliable materiel that credits can buy.

That having been said, I do not believe that the House Mecetti Nationalized Industries can afford to rest on our laurels. I have seen messages from our investors wondering about the future. Where are our new products? Where is our dexterity in a changing market?

Classic products are classics for a reason, but there must always be someone looking to the future.

And here, too, I have good news."

He paused now, consulting his notes briefly.

Or perhaps he was merely bracing himself.

The news about the loss of the Obscurer prototype had been widely disseminated, much to the shame of House Mecetti. Their brand-new Star Destroyer, meant to be an able Interdictor and long-range combatant, had been lost during hypersspace trials. It had jumped to hyperspace and never reappeared. Thousands of loyal Mecetti troops had been lost, and the vessel itself- worth millions of credits- gone. The destroyer, and all of its embarked craft, as well. A staggering financial burden to the R&D department.

And yet, somehow, House Mecetti had not only maintained its profitability, but advanced it.

"Our research and development division has created two new prototype Destroyers, the likes of which the Galaxy has never seen before.

One has been extensively in the news of late: The Obscurer Class. Despite an unfortunate incident during testing, we expect this Electronic Warfare and Interdiction platform to become a big seller in the upcoming year. We have solved the hyperspace drive problem, which we have identified as a tolerance fault with one of our suppliers. The new drives coming into development are flawless, and the Electronic Warfare of our Type II prototype already has excellent efficacy in trials.

Essentially, every flaw in the original Obscurer has been rectified, and the result is a star destroyer that will revolutionize fleet warfare. No longer must fleets choose to purchase Interdictor Destroyers, Electronic Warfare Frigates, and Long-Range Battle Platforms. The Obscurer II will include every capability, and it will perform all of these roles admirably. We intend to unveil the new prototype in the final quarter of this year, and already have pre-orders for six of the units. More will surely follow once we are able to make public demonstrations of its technology.

In addition, I have the pleasure of announcing for the first time a new warship coming out of our shipyards. A warship with an innovative design that is without equal in the fleets of the galaxy."

He waved his hand, and a hologram resolved in the air above the stage.

OCH000Z.png

"The Singularity Class. Singular in its capability. Singular in its design.

Here, the House Mecetti Nationalized Industries dispenses with all traditions but one: A Tradition for Excellence.

The Singularity Class is a Star Carrier that breaks all the rules about starship design. Its unique ring shape-"

He spoke as though the Trade Federation had never fielded a vessel of similar design.

"-allows the hangars to be inside the bulk of the structure, keeping them and their starfighter deployments safest from enemy fire.

In addition, an extensive network of point-defense weapons and assault missile launchers make it unsafe to approach from any angle, be it by starfighters, bombers, or capital ships. Assailing the Singularity Class will be more difficult and dangerous than taking out two Imperial Class Star Destroyers, and it will also carry more embarked craft than any two similarly sized ships.

A single Singularity can change the balance of power in a system. It will stand as the center of future fleets, and become the most coveted command ships of tomorrow. No one will be interested in buying a Super Star Destroyer when they could buy a whole fleet of Mecetti warships for the same cost, with the Singularity shining at the center.

The age of excess is over. The age of Excellence is here.

The Singularity is expected to release this Summer, but you can place an order for one today."

There were some murmurs of interest and excitement, both in the crowd present and on the Holonet lines of shareholders who were monitoring these announcements.

"Finally, Warfare is not House Mecetti's only endeavor. Just as Wars always begin, they must also end. A good company is prepared to profit in peace as well as war.

And for this reason, House Mecetti is proud to announce the construction of a new model Colony Ship."

J2eDFoz.png

"The Ark. The most effective Colony ship the galaxy has ever been witness to. The Ark eliminates the most difficult part of transporting colonists: Accommodating the Colonists themselves.

Most colony transports can only move at most a few thousand colonists. Quarters must be provided for them. Food must be carried for them to eat. Refreshers for them to remain clean. Medical facilities to tend to any who grow sick during the trip. Recreation zones must be exist so that they do not become restless. Extensive security forces have to be present in case there is a disturbance.

All of it is a waste of space, and all of it is obviated.

For the Ark can carry a full half-million colonists, and not a single one of them needs to be housed, fed, or cared for in any usual way. The use of stasis chambers allows the ship to carry colonists in neat storage for the entire journey, blissfully unaware of the passage of time. Then they can be revived at the destination, ready to begin their work as members of the new colony. They need not all disembark at once, either. They can be revived in phases, according to the needs and readiness of your colony.

All of the saved space also leaves room for cavernous hangars, containing all the vehicles and support ships your new colony may require.

Imagine it: An entire city of people stored on a single ship. Not a town, but a full city, ready to be productive in short order.

When the fighting stops and the rebuilding and repopulation of our damaged worlds begins, the Ark will carry Galactic citizens across the galaxy and settle them unto their new homes.

So, whether it be war or peace, House Mecetti is poised for a profitable future for decades to come."

He managed a small smile as some listeners actually applauded. Apparently, the shareholders were happy with this news.

"Thank you, thank you. Are there any questions?"

Darth Ayra sat at the back of the conference room and observed the crowd as it filtered in to attend the Mecetti presentation. On her lap Ayra possessed a camera that she used to record the presented Obscurer II-class Star Destroyer; the new Singularity-class and the Ark: a ship designed to transport an entire city to a brand new world to start a colony. This was all of interest to the NISB given the Empire's cold war status with other Imperial Remnants, and of course, the age old rivalry with the Jedi. Where there was Imperial ideology there was always going to be some good-doer revolting, rebelling, attempting to stop some threat which threatened the peace and prosperity of places such as those found in the Galactic Alliance. But Ayra knew better than them. Peace was a lie.

In her report Ayra recorded that the new line of ships that House Mecetti were putting on the market would useful assets to the Empire's navy but that because they were exclusive to Obulette it would expose a significant risk to the relationship that the NISB had built with Casteban Mecetti. If both sides wanted to keep their relationship a secret then it would expose it to the Alliance and other third parties that it might be of interest of, such as the Sith, due to the ramifications and scandal that it would bring given the fact Mecetti Nationalized Industries operated in Alliance territory and were already supplying them with their own ships, craft and technology.

If it were revealed that Mecetti were also selling the same products to the Imperial Remnant then it would cause a scandal that Ayra predicted would end the arrangement negotiated by Nimian Totan and Maldor Mecetti because of Jedi intervention, or other forms of scrutiny brought by would-be opposition Casteban had in the Galactic Senate. As Casteban waited for questions Ayra finished her report by recommending that Santhe-Sienar should be utilized in the production of these ships should the Moff Council wish to put them into service and that the NISB would negotiate with House Mecetti to acquire the schematics for these new vessels during the Federation Conference.

Not wanting to draw attention to herself Ayra elected not to ask any questions with Casteban. The two of them were set to meet after the conference ended so that would be the perfect time to ask them outside the lens of others listening.

Finding a place she was able to listen and take in some of the other things there. THe biot speaking at her side. "It is different. Will there really be a benefit here? Most seem well behind in terms of power and capability... even intention." The jedi forge master sat there. "It is a measuring stick, listen to some of the conferences. See where other companies and governments are in comparison so we can continue to improve." She pointed. "Most warships grown now have their electronic warfare and interdictors built in but oters have divided them up for centuries." Combining them wasn't new at least from several of the companies she knew worked on ships. The one that looked like a lucrehulk on its side was different surely in look but functioned like the will of the force they had developed. Project saratai and its colony vessels had them with outposts and hyperlanes to companion galaxies. "THis though will show us where to continue to improve. We just got initial production lines done for for the fabricators and their molecular conversion bubbles. We keep innovating." Helped she had the celesztial forge on a massive dyson sphere to work with. Forging whateverr they needed was always easier.

Judah sat in the audience, listening to Mister Mecetti speak. He didn't know much about the man but a cursory HoloNet search revealed he had stepped back into the business world after the death of his only heir, balancing other duties as well in the political world.

Having only one child, one son, Judah understood the fear, duty, and determination that Mister Mecetti must be relying on to plow through. His plan in the next decade was to slowly guide his own son to take the reigns of Salacia Consolidated. While Makai was working on his own thing now, much larger responsibilities loomed in the future.

The Singularity is expected to release this Summer, but you can place an order for one today."

Eyebrow quirked at that, pre-orders for the large ringed vessel. It appealed to Judah for other reasons, not for defense but to assist in salvage and mining. If it could be modified during the building process the old salvager could see a high degree of potential.

"Thank you, thank you. Are there any questions?"

Judah stood up in the audience, introducing himself first.

"Judah Dashiell, Salacia Consolidated. An excellent presentation Mister Mecetti but I do have one inquiry ; can the Singularity-class be modified for anything beyond combat? The design could be of great use to myself."

"Well usually we just board and capture what we can't destroy" Aloy stifled a chuckle. She was aware to a degree how the galactic arms race would shift the balance from time to time, but her experience in using the weapons that would result from the ebb and flow of the corporations inspired a certain confidence in her ability to adapt, and knowing of when to adapt.

"You can only re-invent the shield so many times"

"The thing about war on a galactic scale is that adapting takes time. Every piece of technology you create will result in a developing counter, but our weapons will see a fair share of kills long before it's rival becomes wide spread enough to be a threat"

She was also aware that, much like herself, every company was here to either to develop a counter early or to steal. Thus, she was sparing with the details given to Rulonom Laborr Rulonom Laborr .

"I plan to be a step ahead when that time comes however, Let's just say that Field Disruptors are wasted on infantry. It's time to change that"

Meanwhile one of the Black Hand Collective scouts was among the audience listening to Casteban Mecetti Casteban Mecetti , occasionally feeding Pict recordings to Aloy's HUD so that she could affectively be in two places at once. But wasn't exactly a fan of core world senators, even if she had begun working with the Galactic Alliance recently, but admittedly she empathized with House Mecetti's loss. It didn't sound anything like the loss of her daughter at the battle for the kathol outback against the sith, but she could tell even through the recording that this familial trouble weighed on the man.

Of equal interest was the Singularity-Class carrier, which she would have added to the future acquisitions list if it weren't for the fact that House Mecetti was an alliance manufacturer. A shame really, now she'd have to buy it instead.

Once they had proven their design in the field, of course.

Actually it's design reminded her of the principles by which her own space station was currently being designed, though much smaller and likely more mobile, which reminded her that some of the Trade Federation's displays had interested her, as they would make for useful components in the mobile headquarters.

And so she turned to address Rulonom Laborr Rulonom Laborr again, this time with business in mind.

"On the subject of development, there is something of interest to my self among the Trade Federation's stock. Your agricultural platforms or perhaps the habitational ring, How much do those typically go for?"

The Skakoan shifted his attention back to Aloy Vizsla Aloy Vizsla , his eyes carefully studying the NAV-1 Long range Naval Cannons before him. He couldn't help but notice that the Mandalorian had deliberately omitted the exact specifications in her speech.

It was a smart move, considering the cutthroat nature of the companies present, all vying to copy and outdo each other. However, she seemed to have forgotten that she was dealing with the formidable Trade Federation of Planets, not some amateur organization. With just a single glance at the design, Laborr could grasp the core mechanisms without needing to dismantle the machine's internal processing units.

They would not copy the design one for one, merely improve upon the existing product until it was functionally different than the original. She also noted the concept of Field Disruptors which had the ability to counter shielding technology although it was mostly manufactured for infantry use. If such a technology could be converted into starship components then such a navy could be quite formidable indeed, an interesting development to be aware off.

"Ah - those are our finest creations, I would be willing to negotiate on the standard market price if you would part with some information. I have heard from informants and second-hand shops that the Mandalorian Protectors are going after the Sith Empire's Operations on Mandalore" He would be more than willing to negotiate the price in exchange for some harmless information.

HOUSE MECETTI NATIONALIZED INDUSTRIES
SHOWSPACE AND CONFERENCE HALL
AT THE TRADE FEDERATION CONFERENCE COMPLEX

"Excellent question," the elder Mecetti remarked.

"At our Obulette shipyards, we offer the ability to commission bespoke custom starships tailored to meet any need, and this includes repurposing existing hullforms to new uses.

There is no reason our new Singularity Carrier couldn't be outfitted to carry mining craft as opposed to starfighters and support vehicles. Take, for instance, the excellent
Mining Drones from Corex Trading Company. Hundreds of these automated mining drones could be embarked upon a Singularity Carrier, deployed to strip every usable mineral from an asteroid field or planetoid in short order.

A customer for our Classic Victory Class destroyers recently refit one for a similar purpose.

But with a Carrier, you could increase productivity by an order of magnitude. Plus, we have perfected the use of on-board droid and starship parts factories for clients like DDSI, ensuring you can maintain your own drones in the field. And you may know our mining corvettes have on-board smelting facilities, which could be easily outfitted for installation in the Singularity. You could mine raw ore, smelt it to useful ingots, and even use those ingots in a mini-factory all without ever needing to return to base. A remarkable panoply of in-field mining and construction capability.

And of course, the weapons suite of the Singularity would be more than sufficient to protect your valuable ore from pirates and raiders.

Our floor salesmen out in the main lobby can take any custom build request you have, and we can have it delivered in a few short months."

Casteban responded to some other questions, while seeming to 'accidentally' ignore those who might have a criticism.

The presentation came to a close, and Casteban made his bow and withdrew from the stage. As he did so, his gaze roved over the assembled guests as though he was looking for something.

Or more accurately, someone...

When the conference came to a close Ayra put away the report and concealed the datapad. Rising up from her seat Ayra navigated her way through the crowd making sure that as she begun to walk Mecetti would see her. In preparation for their meeting the NISB had sent a secured message to the Senator explaining that the contact they had sent to meet with him had blonde hair, with a pin on her chest that had the House Mecetti emblem shining from it. As Ayra made her way out of the conference room, deliberately walking by Casteban, she had taken a moment to put the pin on her chest all in an effort to make sure that he knew she was the NISB operative that had been sent for the meeting.

With the expectation that the Senator now knew who to follow, Ayra exited the conference hall and made her way through the hallways, slipping by and through the crowds that had gathered to look at the products of offer, never looking over her shoulder to see if Casteban was following her. The Meniium was a large ship, and the Federation had invited esteemed, wealthy, successful entrepreneurs, tycoons and manufacturers to the conference. But it had only been a small showing. Therefore, away from the main crowds, there were still several booths that were not open and so traffic in that immediate area was scarce.

In the back drop of the trade summit, Ayra turned to lean up against a pillar and folded her arms across her chest to look at Casteban when they had finished walking. "Foxtrot," Ayra said to him: the codeword that the NISB had created to confirm that she was the asset that was set to become the next liaison between House Mecetti and the Empire of the Lost. "We should be good to talk here, Senator. How can the Empire be of assistance today?"

A waiter sauntered by, balancing a tray of drinks with the ease of a seasoned pro. Danger deftly snagged a glass of what looked like the local brandy, her gaze sweeping over the patrons of House Mercetti's presentation. When a familiar gravelly voice rang out from Salacia, Danger knew right off it was Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell .

So he'd decided to show up himself, huh? Well, reckon they'd be bumpin' into each other more often now that she'd been venturing out to handle more of the social side of things.

It was mighty good of him to inquire about the mortification of the singularity. With a positive answer, Danger made a mental note to reach out to Casteban Mecetti's business connections or even the man himself to chat about a potential business venture for customization. Maybe they could even collaborate on a couple of projects together.

Deciding to slip away from the presentation before catching Judah's eye -- he seemed to be avoidin' her on purpose -- Danger's hips swayed as she made her way toward other folks at the conference. All the while, she couldn't help but ponder how they'd ended up avoidin' each other instead of greetin' him with her usual grin and a smoke.

Just goes to show, things change, whether you want 'em to or not. This was her way of tryin' to salvage their friendship and keep him in her life however she could. If he wanted her company, he could make the effort himself. For now, it looked like he needed his space, and Danger could respect that.

An overview of the new Trade Federation's product line caught her attention, especially the interlocking agricultural platforms and defense stations. With their focus on green renewable energy and cleanin' up polluted worlds, they seemed like the perfect temporary fix while the long-term projects to rehabilitate entire worlds got underway.

Heading toward Rulonom Laborr Rulonom Laborr , she scoped out who she could have a chat with about a potential partnership.
