Seeking Knowledge, Building Power.

Shadows... Theseus' best friend currently. As they were the only thing he had trust towards. They never betrayed him, they always listened, and they were always there. Unlike the Jedi mentor who had turned against him. Leaving him with physical, mental, and emotional scars. It had been two years since that event occurred. Though with a long life ahead of him. They were still very fresh, and still had a lot of mending to do. Luckily Theseus Reneun knew how to wield that pain. He'd turn it to anger and use it as the drive that would help him survive. He'd find a way to take this and make it his greatest tool.

There was but one barrier. Theseus needed a master. Someone to provide him with further knowledge, particularly of wielding the dark side of the force. As knowledge was a fundamental element of power. Without it you were nothing. That was one of the few things Theseus admired about the jedi order. That they had held knowledge. Some of it misleading knowledge. Though knowledge none the less. Theseus was a loyal individual. Sometimes quick to anger. Though loyal to those he dedicated himself to. Unless they betrayed him and gave him a reason to turn against them. Which was the reason Theseus now fell to the dark side. It favored embracing these emotions, and making them your tools. Theseus also needed a weapon. Preferably two light sabers. Theseus was skilled in dual wielding them. Sometimes he'd even use additional sabers for telekinetic saber combat. As Theseus' greatest strength lied in the strong connection to the force he had. Another reason a Master would come in handy.

Though for now he walked alone. In the shadows that sheltered him from the world, and in ways the world from him. Nar Shaddaa, was the current world he was located in. The only place he'd known as home. Though the place that he know longer was safe in. He'd need to get away from here. Until he was ready to come back and face the man who's name he didn't feel like even remembering. He knew he probably knew it, though he'd pushed the information into the furthest depths of his conscious. Theseus currently was actively using force conceal, as well as walking quietly along his friends. He'd always had a knack for stealth. As Theseus made his way to a local smugglers bar. To get paid Theseus sometimes worked as a hired mercenary to use his gifts in the force to aid in raids. Particularly ones against Jedi transport ships. Ones that didn't hold a high risk of being guarded by a force sensitive that might have a light saber on them. Theseus wasn't quite skilled enough to take on soldiers on top of that.

Words of a rising cult that once held much respect. Had reached his ears. Their methods, their beliefs. In ways it was rather inspirational. They turned against the oppressive world. Built a reputation and now. Theseus knew that was where he'd belong. So, that was his primary goal. Seek a master and above all seek a master who belonged too, or had associations with that cult. As Theseus wished to learn their ways and their religion. As he sought a higher purpose, and where their was knowledge, as stated before. Power was sure to follow.

Through her dedicated Force training and supremacy in going to battle for the Primeval, Perla had finally caught the eye of both the Host Lord and the leadership of the Bleeding Sun. Her reward for this service?

She would receive a student. Her first student actually.

Of course, he didn’t have to know that.

Not that the Dathomir exile wasn’t unqualified to train a fellow magic user. She had proven herself quite recently to be an expert spellweaver and occasional practicioner of Nightsister magic. She could manipulate nature, create a bond with predators, create illusions and influence opponents with black magic.

Perla had never felt the pull of the darkside. It was always there with her from as long as she could remember. At an early age, she was exiled from her home planet for experimenting with alchemy and dark magic with disasterous and fatal results for The Great Canyon Clan. She had been studying the arcane arts ever since.

She would meet this new student in a Nar Shaadda cantina. She wore a loose black dress, cinched at the waist with a belt adorned with juvenile Ssurian teeth. Perla didn’t spend much of her time in bars or nightclubs. She enjoyed drink ale with the warriors after fighting and recounting the bloodiest moments of the battle, but she did enjoy alcohol and occasionally spice, so she strode up to the bar and ordered a Corellian whiskey on ice.

Perla slouched against the bar and looked for signs of her new student.

Theseus entered the cantina just a few moments after nightfall. Making his way quietly through the building to a corner booth in the back. Where shadow's existed and caused him to blend, for the most part at least. He looked around curiously, a lot of the common drinkers were here. Some of the occasional smugglers who dropped in for a nice conversation, a few travelers, and finally, a lady who appeared to be looking for someone. That was what Theseus could determine from the corner he now sat in. Theseus turned his attention away and began seeking out conversations regarding possible opportunities that might present themselves. Either a word of the group he was seeking, or a job needing a extra hand. Either of those would be beneficial to him. Theseus spent his time using force conceal to hide that he had a connection to the force. Though seeming he was still only a 'padawan' Theseus' still had a small connection to it, and that made him vulnerable to detection at close range.

Theseus relaxed back in the booth. Closing his eyes and letting his ears take over. As sometimes seeing provided a distraction in a moment you should be listening. There was talk of a few raids occurring, there was one about needing protection for a transport. Theseus quietly noted one of the raiding missions. ( OOC: which will hold relevance to a topic I have in another thread). From there Theseus moved to local and foreign news. A man had been murdered several blocks away, a few skirmishes were occurring across the galaxy, and a local crime lord had been recently captured. So, not entirely boring news, though not something entirely out of the normality of things.

Theseus then went to reflecting the past. Wincing slightly at some of the memories, causing his force conceal to falter and a few items on his booth to slide off. As Theseus did his best to work on controlling the emotions. Letting them become what he wished them to be, and after a moment sighed and relaxed. Opening his eyes to notice that someone was standing near him now. As he looked up to see who it was, and what it was they desired.

Perla had finished her whiskey and was already on a second, when she gave up trying to look for this student using her vision. She now would concentrate on the Force signatures in the room. Immediately she felt a fairly strong presence coming from a booth in the shadowy part of the cantina.

The witch took her glass from off of the bar and walked straight over to the human who was shrouded in a slate grey robe. She put her glass down on the table with a thump and slipped into the booth across from the human. Her large eyes were a dark brown, almost ebony color and they pierced into him, sizing him up. Animals used eye contact to establish dominance, and in this way, she would wait for him to look away first. If he were her student, he would need to know who was in charge after all.

"Are you Theseus Reneun?" she asked in a voice, husky and worn from having screamed and shouted in battle recently.

Theseus looked back to the woman for a passing moment. Observing her and observing her glare. It was chilling in a way. It reminded him of that of an animal, he almost questioned if that was the intent. She was seeking to open by asserting a position above him, and the fact Theseus noticed she came apparently unarmed, In a dress with a belt that held teeth. If anything Theseus' new only crazy people, or people that could kill without even raising a finger would make such a bold move, and Theseus had a idea which one this lady was. From the look in her eyes she'd seen battle, and by the tone of her voice, she'd recently been in one. Either that or she just found out her significant other, should this lady have one had cheated on her. Theseus was only sure that she'd been yelling quite a lot.

Theseus decided that whatever the case, it'd be wise to accept that this lady, in some way, shape, or form. Likely was superior to him and he wasn't going to be the fool that barked up the wrong tree to only discover that in the long run, what appeared to be the prey, was truly the predator. So, Theseus cast his glance down to the table and away from the woman's glare. "I'm Theseus, is there something you need?" he replied in a voice that was neither cold, nor warm. Though was quite neutral in a manner that avoided being monotone. Theseus could either strike up a conversation that lasted awhile, or cut directly to the point, and with this lady. He felt a direct approach to the purpose of her arrival, would be best suited for this occasion.

Theseus after he had glanced down to display his place beneath this lady, which should never be something to be ashamed of. Nature was all about knowing ones place on the food chain. Theseus looked back up towards her. Careful not to make eye contact, because Theseus knew at this point unless she gave him permission. Direct eye contact could be viewed as a challenge, and that was a challenge Theseus knew he wasn't ready, nor may he ever be ready to face. Until her intentions were clear Theseus would remain passive, and hope this was a opportunity that would be life altering, and set him on the path he knew he was destined to pursue.

Perla assessed this man who was definitely intimidated by her presence. In all reality, that was nothing new. The Dathomir exile seemed to have that affect on people. Except perhaps [member="Vheissu Ireles"] who was certainly not afraid of Perla based on his animal-like pursuit of her in the Imperial Dungeons on Bastion. But he had moved onto other prey it seemed.

But back to the task at hand.

“I’m an Agent of the Bleeding Sun and I’m looking for a student,” she said.”Is that you?”

She again reviewed his Force signature and was impressed that it was stronger than she originally realized. With dedicated training and guidance, he would eventually be a formidable foe. If he were her student she would need to bring him to Bastion to train, mostly because she didn’t like to be away from her battle rancor, Xana for too long. The rancor-keeper in the dungeons (the third one since the first two had been eaten) just didn’t give her the same love and attention as the Dathomir spellweaver. And the creature became anxious when she was away too long.

Theseus smiled a little. "That would be up to you." he replied to her calmly. "I would be honored to take you as a teacher, and I have been looking to be integrated into the Bleeding sun. Though I can not tell you whether or not you are to take me as your student, or you are not to take me as your student." he replied to her in a respectful tone. As he continued to make sure he didn't look directly into her eyes. Keeping his head bowed slightly out of respect as well. He was going to need to get used to this he decided. As he wandered how much she could teach him. He assumed it was quite a lot. As she appeared to be well trained.

Theseus tried his best to keep focused on topic. Though he sighed a little. Thinking about the first mentor he had. Hopefully she proved to be better then the last, should she accept him. At least in the respect he didn't need to worry about her trying to plant a light saber through his back, or even his chest or head for that matter. He didn't need to loose his life in the near future. So, Theseus promised himself that he'd remain on the guard. At least for a very long while until he was sure one way or the other.

Honor was something that was a little lost on Perla. She was an exile from Dathomir, thrown off the planet with little more than the rags on her back. Alone, she had clawed her way back to a somewhat stable life after that and had very little loyalty to anyone but herself. Except for the Host Lord who she knew could execute her if she glanced at the powerful Umbaran the wrong way. Master Ireles maybe too.

But this student's mannerisms were submissive enough that she assumed he would be a fairly willing acolyte, and one who would probably fall in line with her teachings.

"Very well," she said. "I will teach you."

She tilted her head and her raven-black hair cascaded over one shoulder.

"What would you like to learn from me? Are you strictly a Force user or do you want to learn some Nightsister magic? Or a combination of both?" she asked.

Unlike his previous mentor, the spellweaver had no reason to kill him. She would only enact vengeance on those who wronged her first. She may not have had much loyalty, but Perla did follow a type of warrior code, even if it had nothing to do with honor and valor.

"I'm always willing to learn whatever teachings are wiling to be giving to me." Theseus said as his simple reply. "Even in the long run if I don't discover means of wielding nightsister magic, which I'm not sure it's possible. I still can potentially learn means of identifying various techniques and finding alternate means of combating it with the force." he admitted to her calmly. After all should he run across a opponent who wielded this thing known as nightsister magic. It would be a benefit to posses such knowledge.

Theseus dipped his head again and thought. "Whenever you're ready to begin my trainings." he replied to her and smiled a little. He was hiding his bubbly mood right now. Though it helped being mixed with uncertainty and a hint of intimidation that rolled over. Theseus was eager to also leave this planet, for a good while. He was sure there would be reasons to return. Though Theseus could wait for the reasons to arise.

"Good," said Perla. "We should start your training right away if you are to serve the Primeval." There were wars to be fought, battles to be won and glory to bask in.

"I can train you anywhere so would you prefer to stay on Nar Shaadaa? Or come with me to Bastion, which is where my home is now."

"I will give you advantages to either. On Nar Shaddaa there is a well known Sith Academy which was originally established by the Brotherhood of Darkness. Or we could make our way to the Underworld and try more unorthodox training methods."

She sipped her Corellian whiskey.

"Or on Bastion, we can train in the Imperial Dungeon. There are plenty of willing subjects to fight, including my battle rancor, Xana."

She shrugged and smirked, "It's all up to you, acolyte."

At this early point in her teaching career, Perla wasn't picky. Eventually she would land on a training method that fit her style. But for now, she would allow him to choose, if only to provide a bit of stablity and predicability for the student.

Unless he chose the Underworld. Then both of them would be in uncharted territory.

"I live to serve, Master." he replied to her as she mentioned that the training should start immediately. He looked around the planet. "Although There is the academy here, and it would come in handy for when I need to create my light sabers. It would be unwise for me to stick around this planet much longer. Sometime I am sure I'll be forced to return here. Though until then I wish to proceed to have my training on Bastion." Theseus stated as he nodded his head. That was something he'd need to tackle. Was acquiring himself a pair of light sabers. Theseus preferred the use of two sabers over one as it allowed him to execute more people in less time. Though for now Theseus was weaponless aside from the use of the force. Which for him was more then enough to make him an effective opponent.

Theseus waited patiently for further instruction. Though he was not accustomed to following. He was eager to learn, and did not want to do anything that might displease his new master. As he looked towards her with a calmer expression. Now that he was allowing himself to let his mind wrap around the concept. "Some time I do wish to return here. There is somebody who I must deal with in order to finally free myself." he admitted.

"Oh?" remarked the witch. "You will..."

A ping from her datapad interrupted her mid-sentence. She looked down and checked her messages and then gazed back up at her new student.

"Instead of Bastion, we are going to Belkadan," she said, polishing off her whiskey in one swallow and rising up out of her seat. "Come," she said, and as she waited for Theseus, she said, "On the way to the Outer Rim, you can tell me about this person you need to "deal with."

[member="Theseus Reneun"]

Theseus nodded his head in understanding. As he walked behind her and looked around. So, it was finally happening. After the battle on Belkada Theseus would part ways temporarily to run a few errands he had to do. Though he'd return to Perla before his absence became to inconvenient. (During which he'll be acquiring his lightsabers if the tech center approves them. :3) Theseus smiled warmly as he chuckled and shook his head. He'd dreamed of this day coming as he walked out of the bar. Looking towards Perla in a respectful manner. He may have to learn to trust her. Though he already had respect towards the type of person she was, as well as towards all she was doing for him. He also had a feeling that he'd become useful towards her, and he eagerly awaited her teachings.

Theseus smiled a little as he stretched then looked to her. "I'm ready." he said to her calmly. "As well as I'll gladly discuss who it is I must rid this galaxy of. For his presence doesn't just affect me, it affects all those who has the misfortune of getting associated with him. He was my past Jedi master, and he is the one who is truly corrupted." he responded to her.
