Public Shadow of the Rim

War spreads everywhere across the galaxy, for that is something the Wrath of the Maw knows all too well. Yet during this time of great conflict Kyrel slowly saw his gaze being drifted to the lawless outer rim. Beyond the Second Great Hyperspace War he saw a frontier now open for anyone to do what they wanted. For Kyrel he saw a place to expand his ambitions in hopes of one day vying for the Maw throne. The Crimson Hands themselves while a formidable force of brute warriors, they still stood too few against the other tribes. Than there was the matter of the Sith.

What terrified him was how he was among so few that knew the Grand Plan. That he was made Wrath by the dark lord himself, and sent forth to conquer in the name of the Maw. In the end he was right where he was when he began, and instead of mindless obedience feigned loyalty in hopes of one day taking what was his. With his time so few and far between in the great campaigns of the Maw, it was rare of Kyrel to venture out into space let alone the Outer Rim.

What brought him so far out was the inspection of a new Ren starship. A sight to behold that is said to date back to the myths of the original Knights of Ren. Beyond such a simple inspection he had hoped that a plan could be in place. That there was potential to use the lawlessness of the Outer Rim to turn the tide and when the time was right challenge Solipsis for the throne, if not secure it first before any of the tribes got a chance. His departure was not informed to anyone, not even Solipsis as he traveled via an archaic TIE Silencer modified with a path engine.

The Silencer roared as it exited hyperspace outside of the Terminus system. In view was something that resembled a Star Destroyer with the eerie dark look of the Ren. Curious by the purpose of its design, he sent his transponder in with the Ren in charge of the vessel. The Fighter slowed its twin ion engines as it made its way to dock inside the hanger. When the craft successfully landed, Kyrel jumped from the hatch and onto the ground where in the interior it was nothing but unsettling darkness. He waited for a Knight of Ren to arrive to tour the ship, and discuss the future wary of anyone else that could be lurking out there.

The Covenant of Blood loomed in the dark void of space. The obsidian black hull was illuminated by crimson light projectors placed at regular intervals along the hull. Jagged, uneven, and predatory, the Covenant of Blood embodied the tenants and history of the Knights of Ren in its very construction and design. Pheretha Ren was proud of it, an emotion he was not all too familiar with. Built-in pieces across Brotherhood of Maw space by the Crimson Hand tribe, it had been assembled in secret deep in the Outer Rim. The vessel was to be a secret of the Knights of Ren, and the linchpin in their new plans.

Walking through the dimly lit corridors of the Covenant of Blood, Pheretha reveled in the echoing boom each footstep made in the all-encompassing silence. Despite being crewed by thousands of cultists and more civilized servants to the Knights of Ren, not a single soul was in sight as Pheretha made his way through the corridors. A law of fear dominated the ship, and even the most insane of its cultist crew knew not to cross paths with the few Knights of Ren that inhabited the vessel.

The few who did often had a habit of disappearing.

The doors to the hangar slid open as Pheretha drew near, the shadows cast by the flickering torches, as no unnatural light was used inside the vessel, danced across the bone white mask he wore. Once fully open, Pheretha stepped out onto the hangar deck, marching towards the vessel that had just arrived, and its pilot even now emerging from the craft. It had been some time since Pheretha had seen his former master, but his presence in the Force was unmistakable. Coming to a halt several feet away, Pheretha bowed his masked and hooded head to Kyrel Ren Kyrel Ren before speaking, his voice filtered through his mask.

"My Master, it has been too long. I welcome you to the Covenant of Blood."

The one known as Pheretha Ren was one he had known for a long time, dating back to the days of the First Order. Now the masked Ren had emerged to help Kyrel within the Maw, and this time to carve a new path for the Ren. One where they would be the masters instead of any servants to Sith, Imperial and any that dare try to use them as weapons. For now such plans had to be kept quiet for it all was too fragile to act upon now.

There was nothing but the two within the dark obsidian halls. The feeling of disturbed darkness crept into every crack and crevice of the ship. As if the destroyer was crafted purely by means of the dark side. He looked around from side to side, up and down admiring the craftsmanship that went into the makings of such a warship. Kyrel could already see this ship being used in his conquests against the Imperials and the Jedi. As well as anything or anyone else to stand in his way.

There was no soul around, although he suspected that those who manned the star destroyer was busy at work. For now there was nothing but eerie silence through the halls, with nothing but the sounds of boots walking to keep the silence at bay. Finally Kyrel began to speak already pleased by the design of the ship. “Well my friend… you seem to have crafted one of the finest ships yet, it wouldn’t even compare to Lord Momins finest work. You have been very busy since our last meeting.”

Pheretha walked beside Kyrel as they made their way through the corridors of the Covenant of Blood. It was refreshing to be in the presence of Kyrel after so long, time spent in the service of others rather than the goals of the Ren themselves. Perhaps now that time was coming to an end though.

He inclined his head at hid masters praise. "I thank you for the praise, my Master. This vessel was a long time in the making, and I still find even myself awed at its beauty. However, the best is yet to come." Turning the two down a side corridor, Pheretha brought them to a massive double sided entryway. Before the portal stood two Knights of Ren, the first beings they had seen since boarding the vessel. They inclined their heads at their approach before turning and throwing open the doors they stood guard before.

At once, the corridor became bathed in light as the flames that made up the walls of the Sanctum of Ren came into sight. Crimson, orange and yellow, the flames danced along the walls in cleverly carved inlets, forming patterns that hurt they eye if one looked at it for too long. The main walkway down the center of the Sanctum was lined by flames on either side as well, though far enough away to not risk burning any who walked through. At the far end of the Sanctum, situated upon a platform with a large diamond of flame burning behind it was an obsidian black throne.

"This, my lord, is the true value of the Covenant of Blood. The Sanctum of Ren."

From behind the throne stepped Eschara, who bowed his head. "And here comes the king to take the throne. Welcome, Master." The Knight spoke with that usual tone of his that was both respectful and casual as he addressed Kyrel Ren Kyrel Ren . He had been awestruck when he had first laid eyes upon the Covenant, even moreso upon entering the Sanctum. One could bathe in the energies of the dark side coalescing here, though pesky light-siders would probably liken the experience more to drowning. Heh. Pheretha Ren really knocked it out of the park with this one. "The Sanctum is glorious, is it not?"
