A small smile touched her lips when she was finally able to coax the young Jedi to commit to a dance of blades with her. He deflected her strike and made a lunge with his saber for her chest, which she saw coming and reacted to instantly, parrying the thrust to force his blade away and to the side before aiming a swift kick towards his knee that was closest to her and following that with another stab of her own, saying as she did so with a goading smirk:
“Blue is a nice color…but red would look better for you, I think.”
Swordplay always exhilarated her, even in such a tense situation as this, and despite her seemingly almost playful attitude given the circumstances, she still held her focus on the fight, channeling the anger and frustration she felt into her movements and speed, allowing them to make her more fierce and her strikes more strong than what her small stature might suggest. She kept the swell of her emotions under control, as she knew what happened when she was consumed by her stronger feelings. There was a place and a time for unleashing more violent emotions…and she felt that this little spar did not require her to tap so deeply into such things. That didn’t mean she was underestimating the Jedi before her. She knew better than to do that; she was simply feeling him out, getting to know him and how he chose to fight her.
