Shadows, Assemble!

Chashmona was trying to hide for everyone. She was spying on the conversation they were heaving had heard the greetings. She giggled as it seemed that nobody had found her so far, but it was far from the truth. She was already sensed by her master from the distance. The young girl was dangerously close to the edge, which had a long drop to below. The force was placed around her as a security rope, so she couldn't fall. Suddenly she saw her master Coci appearr before her and said, "Hehehe~ Aw, I thought I was at the best place~" She smiled giggling.

When her master wanted a talk with her. She waited for a moment and looked over the long edge "Wow" She didn't fall and suddenly was being carried by her master. She was brought to the group and placed in the backscene on a chair. The young girl suddenly interrupted, "Mhm, because Sith Big snake is really big. You need to get really big muscles to fight the big snake." The Sith were indeed creating a new Sith Spawn and the girl knew off it. What would've happened to her if she was now found by the sith sisterhood, she would've been screwed!

The girl was far too young for all these stealthy type stuff. It might've not been the best place for her to start her training surrounded by knights and masters.

The innocent voice of [member="Chashmona"] interrupted his train of thought after [member="Syala Daivik"] spoke up with a very good point.

”Thank you Sy, you speak hard truth. And, Chashmona I believe? Also true, but somehow I don’t think you are ready to fight such big snakes. They bite and are full of poison and will kill you if they get the chance. We don’t want that, do we?”

As he spoke, Connor walked across and down the metal stairwell to the ground level, illuminated form behind by the various control displays and holorecordings of the Dark Heart. He stood beside [member="Coci Heavenshield"].

”I know you are under Master Heavenshield’s care, so this is not my choice to make. Just be sure not to speak to anyone of this place – we can’t let everyone know our secrets and risk big snakes getting in.”

With a small smile, Connor turned to look at the view of the Dark Heart, away from the Temple on Voss where the Shadow operations took place from.

”Let’s play a game, Shadows. Myself and Coci will go for a little walk in the Dark Heart, and we will vanish. You will face a place that will mess with your mind, your thoughts and your view of the Force if you let it. And also beasts that may lurk in the darkness to feast on your very soul.”

He turned to face them.

”Shall we see which of you can navigate the dangerous Dark Heart to find us, and which of you can’t?”

As Master Connor turned to look at the Dark Heart he offered a challenge, to see who could navigate their way through the darkness to the other side. Test number one... George thought to himself as the words of the Shadows ran through his mind that Connor spoke of earlier. Teamwork is a must of the Silver Shadows, this test will be non other. George hoped that his comrades understood this also.

"Alright then Master, let the tests begin I guess..." George replied calmly, he had faced the darkness before, he knew how it could affect ones mind, he had overcome it the first time, but not without great guidance. George hoped that he by himself would be able to push through this one and come out the other side.

Kark. If it weren't for the pirates, blast them, he might not be late. Azel checked his coordinates again, before looking up at the large blast doors. Supposedly they lead to a sect of the Silver Jedi, the Shadows. Azel had taken the opportunity to learn. Joining gave him an excuse to travel to Voss, a new planet to him, and to learn more about the Force. The though of what was to come and the sight of the place's entrance was daunting enough to Azel, but he shook off the feeling, and kept on.

"Where are they...?" The young Jedi muttered to himself as he walked into the fort. Ah. Off someways, he saw the group, and Azel picked up his pace. As he walked up to the group, admittedly out of breath from his long walk, he spoke. "Sorry I'm late, won't happen again." He paused, looking around. "Azel Elerel."

"We do this test to ascertain your abilities, and find out what area will require further training", she simply added. "Shall we begin", it was a statement, no question. Her brow raised as Azel entered .. late. She tapped her wrist where a watch would be indicating not to do that again. :)P)

Coci turned to give Chashmona a smile before she turned and walked out of the control room. She remained force visible to them for a while, to give them the general direction of her position. But that did not last.

Walking along the metallic platform, and turning right and through a door that would lead down into the heart itself. The place where Coci and Connor first met as Shadows, and where she trained him to become the formidable shadow he is today. At least she began it. She smiled thinking of it, so long ago now, well it seemed that way. He was a rookie than, but no more, now he is the leader.

Coci wrapped the force around her, pulling in all the light and sound and vanished within the force. She is concealed completely, they will not be able to sense her, or see her or hear her. This will be interesting indeed.

In her invisiblity, she walks around the training room, not much has changed, there is still the taste of the darkness here, the walls still have their torches to light for training the stone as cold as ever. It is the best for this......

As Master Coci said a few words before leaving the group of new Shadows to fend for themselves she gave them a slight hint in the direction they should go into the Dark Heart. She walked down the walkway taking a right before disappearing into the dark. It was going to be a challenge for the new Shadows but something they had to do.

"Alright guys and girls. How do you want to do this?" George moved to face the group of fellow Shadow initiates before him seeing how they wanted to approach this situation.

Kurogan watch as master Heavenshield walk away further in to the maze of where they were, it didn't take long until the shadow of the place over took her and she was no longer visible. He closed his eyes trying to concentrate on the sounds around him trying to keep track of the master movement, but it seem that he couldn't pin point her location not through the force or listen for her.. either there was to much going on around him that he could not concentrate on one sound or the master herself some how had the ability not make a lot of noise of her own.

His ears begin to lay flat with concern he should have known better the master would know a lot of skill, she wouldn't make a loud noise that would lead them to her.. unless she wants to distract them form her location.. but would she do that? Shistavanen took in a deep breath taking in the scent of the air.. old, damp.. the smell of the area was still effecting him even after being there for a while he hope that he would get use to it.. he could barley smell the members in the room with him it was that bad.

He open his eye's trying his best to suppress the concern that was washing over him, he had been in situations where he could use a few of the natural senses of a Shistavanen but never all of them at once. This was going to be an interesting task the two masters have ask of them to do.. this place would either brake them or they will come out stronger then they were before either way Kurogan was willing to take the chance.

His ear twitch hearing George voice he pose a good question.. he was sure each decision they made were probably being judge by the masters. Of course doing nothing wouldn't be an option.. not by a long shot "We could work together.. seeing they never said anything against it.." he glance up at the area master Heavenshield went then back down at Chashmona, his ears lowered as he try to come up with an idea for the young one safety. He then turn his head slightly to George "Plus.. for some members it might be a good idea if there with someone.. just in case."

"There are more ways to find them than wandering blind into the Dark Heart," the ancient Master's voice sounded from behind the padawans. Like Coci and Conner, he had hidden his presence as well...this was, after all, a meeting of those who walked with the shadows and one could never be too careful. "The simply said to find them, not walk up to them and give them a hug."

Sebastian moved to stand near the padawan who had spoken most recently, Kurogan. "For what the shadows are, the ability to find them in the Force or at the very least gain a sense of where they could be, is much more valuable to you than braving the physical dangers."

Dropping the cloak on his power, Sebastian reached out with the Force toward Kurogan. "Every being that knows the ways of the Force, how to touch it, how to manipulate it, causes ripples within it. Hidden as they are, you cannot find Coci and Conner themselves, but you should be able to feel the ebb and flow of the Force around them."

Sebastian wanted the padawans to explore further the depths of the Force, of the power of contemplation over physical action more than he wanted to see them wander off into the Dark Heart totally unprepared. Through the Force, Sebastian could feel the gentle current that the two masters made as they used the Force to hide themselves; by drawing it across them, rather than through them.

It was to herself now to enter but did she enter as herself. If those in the room though so they would be mistake. No these little one needed to see her true form, no not at all. Today she would go in as Master Nephesh as none of those in the room but for the other two master had the right to know who she outside these Shadow walls.

Even so she was cloaked in a dark armor with a cloak around her head. Even so there was a full mask upon her face to hide all her pinkish skin from those that seek to find out who this mystery lady of the shadow. Even so there was her eyes that seem to be a piercing dark blue with the aid of lenses, Her hear was as dark as night with out a moon.

In a way she was late yes or was she just watching as was told by the Head of the Shadow in lurking to see if any of those worthing of coming to these shadow place. Yes she done her bit now if more came there would be a creature that would greet them if they would get past the beast then they would be worthy to met with the ones already gathered.

Wave of her hand the door was open to her, closed the same way as if not even the door came open more then a feet that she slip in like a shadow with in the cold air that she brought into the place. Fellow Shadow those wanting to be, don't mind me I had some creatures to let loose with in these walls for those that curious get the best of them. It was the way she had said the last part as if these where very dangerous creatures even to the point they would hurt or even kill those trying to come with in the shadow Dominion.

I'm Master Nephesh for those that don't know who I am.

Connor glanced over the Shadows before them and nodded once, turning to leave with [member="Coci Heavenshield"] into the depths of the operation command base and into the Dark Heart itself.

Dark_Heart.png
A ruin, located deep within the regions of the Nightmare Lands on Voss, a place contorted with natural darkness, was the best place to hide the Shadows away from everything else. The ruin was a maze of chambers, some sealed for centuries, some open and used by the Shadows.

It was a place that the Shadows would operate from, train in and hide away. The area itself was a test for those even being there; it could drive one a little paranoid they were being watched, or followed. Their demons and doubts and fears may bubble over if they let the whispering voices of the ancient creatures and beasts that once walked there they did. It was dangerous, but as was the work of a Shadow, and this wasn’t a walk in the park for anyone.

”I get the feeling many of them will put their faith in working together,” he looked to Coci as they walked, ”but will any of them be brave enough to follow their own heart and their own drive to succeed first? This isn’t a typical Jedi exercise. It’ll be interesting how many of them think it is.”

He brushed his hands along the dark stone, the dull light illuminating them both as he felt Coci waver and wrap the Force around herself to almost become one with their surroundings. He in turn built up a mental wall to keep the Shadow recruits out, the Force Resistance effectively making a fortress around his mind.

”Care to stick together, or venture alone and see who is found first, sister.”

"That sounds good Kurogan." George understood much like the large Padawan that also stood around them that even though it was a training exercise there was no lack of real danger. Plus the addition of what seemed to be a Youngling there he felt that they would have to look after and protect each other. As George heard a voice coming from around them, but he couldn't see anyone or anything.

As the shadow dropped and the man became visible he seemed wise and full of ideas for the young Padawans and new knights of the Shadows. "Thank you Master for your words. It does seem like the best course of action, we have no idea where they went, we need to get some sort of advantage before we leave the safe haven we are currently situated at." The young Nautolan spoke calmly and confidently. Although they weren't exactly safe where they were, it was a known place. Where they were heading to wasn't so much.

As George once again waited for the group to make a call another voice came through, this time a female. It seemed like the opposite of the Master that had previously came. She wanted to challenge the new Shadows, unleashing beast for them to avoid or conquer. Either way it was going to add another aspect to the Shadow trials that were to come.

Master Nephesh was an unexpected addition, and one that didn't sit well with the old Master. Too many of the Jedi who chose to explore the shadows in recent times crossed too close to the Dark Side. There was a danger in wandering through the murky twilight of the Force that posed a greater danger to one's person than any physical being could ever do. Turning away from the small gathering, Sebastian faced the direction Coci and Connor had gone.

"I have shown you how to find your way in through the darkness towards your goal. You are on your own to reach it, I will not guide you." Sebastian said with his back turned to the padawans and Master Nephesh. "I take my leave."

With agility befitting his physical appearance, the ancient Master sprang forward into the Dark Heart. There had been something in the ripples that surrounded the void in the Force that was Connor, something Sebastian didn't like. When they had met before, Connor had seemed like an upstanding young man and the twinge of malevolence that tainted the Force around him, even while hidden, was something that Sebastian intended to discuss with the man.

-----

In the twisted darkness of the Dark Heart, Sebastian shone; a brazen light in the Force. He made no effort to mask his presence, there was a time and place for that and this was neither. Hiding his presence would blind him to the aspects of the Force he needed to find the two masters who had shrouded themselves in shadows. He did nothing to tackle the twisted creatures that sensed his power and came for him, he simply moved on, faster and more agile than they. The ancient Master's mind was focused on the blank space in the Force that was Connor and Coci.

As he drew closer, the Force pulsed.

Once.

Twice.

The creatures that were so intent on hunting him down to rip and tear his flesh we thrown back and then away back down the twisting hallways they had come as the Force became Sebastian's will. There was a moment where the sound of snarling creatures was replaced with the sound of Sebastian's shoes clacking against the stone before he reached the training room where the void in the Force existed.

The Force pulsed again, stronger and more savagely.

The door to the small training room rocketed off its slide and crashed into the far wall. Trusting that there was still a good bit of time before any of the padawans made it this far, Sebastian strode forward through the hole that had once been a door. As he expected he could see nothing, feel nothing that suggested that anyone was inside but he had walked with the shadows for a hundred years longer than either being who had set the challenge. It was what wasn't there that let him know he had found the right place.

In the room the Force was totally blank and still. It was as if it didn't exist. A technique, useful for hiding oneself from detection had amplified effects if used close to another employing the same technique. Only use of such a technique could create such an artificially blank space in the Force.

"Coci," he said evenly, addressing the 'empty' room, "it has been some time but it is good to see you again. "Connor, we have to talk."

"We should work together, but not so much so that we lose sight of our goal. It's important to learn to rely on each other, that I won't deny, and it's that sort of camaraderie that the Shadows thrive on in their secrecy. One must learn to rely on their own senses before they're able to fully trust those of another." Being the only Knight present Syala supposed it would be only fitting that she was one of those to assist in helping the others, despite the fact that she was still learning herself.

Taking a breath she released it slowly, reaching out through the Force to detect that false emptiness that had been spoken of. Her senses were sent outwards while her body remained still, searching their surroundings for any pervading abnormalities. Unsurprisingly the task wasn't made easy even with her finely tuned sensitivity to the ethereal, no matter her bond with [member="Connor Harrison"] and honed familiarity with the aura he carried. There would be no exceedingly simple way through things.

There was something there, and she became a touch more alert both on the physical and ethereal planes. "Reach out in the Force and focus on finding what isn't there. Don't overly concentrate or you'll begin jumping at shadows." A slight smile, merely a tug on the corners of her mouth. "No pun intended, of course." It helped to lighten the mood, especially in a place as grim and dark as this. A sort of humor was necessary if one hoped to truly survive any sort of trial.

Briefly she sent out a barely noticeable pulse of her own simple awareness within the area where she had sensed that emptiness, hoping to use it as something akin to echolocation in order to determine the specifics of just where the two Masters resided. She wouldn't go wandering into the Dark Heart unless it proved an endeavor that needed to be undertaken in order to further their goal. This was an exercise of their intellectual talent just as much it was as their physical prowess.

Kurogan glance over into the shadow he closed his eyes and begin to focus to feel what was missing. He waited for a moment he could feel some sort of void deep with in the shadow weather it was due to the darkness or if it's the hidden pulse of the two masters. "Hmm maybe we need to do this our self? If any thing dose happen with in the shadow.. it might be taking it from what we fear internally.. we can't fear it.. we must show courage."

If the masters wanted them to do some of this alone then he was willing to do that, but what will they face in the shadow would they be ok? Would it mess with there minds or will it destroy them internally.. he couldn't tell he didn't even know if he would make it himself tho he hope that if he couldn't the others can..

The Shistavanen took a deep breath he took a step toward the shadow, as if it was calling to him. He still thought it might be a good idea but some of his ideas in the past have been wrong. "After all we can't rely on each other all the time.. there might be a day we will be alone on a mission or ambushed while out on our own as well.. if we can do this then will know were capable with stand any hardship."

Listening to the thoughts of the fellow Jedi around him George too closed his eyes and began searching for the force within the Dark Heart. This would be their guidance, their plan. Something to give them a fighting chance in this already difficult mission. Searching for the sense of the force, or lack there of. He found himself looking into nothing. The force was weak here, distinguishing between the space void of the force and that of the rest of the Dark Heart was proving difficult.

Opening his eyes again he replied to the words said by his peers. "We will have to take it as it comes, we will work together and apart what ever is necessary." he replied closing his eyes once again, putting out a ripple in the force trying to sense some change.

Azel stood back, listening to the other Padawans. Of course, he already knew what path he would take. Being late didn't put him off to a good start, but thankfully Master Heavenshield had been nice to him and only subtly mentioned it. No, Azel was going to prove that he wasn't just some slack-off who was always late. Once George finished talking, Azel jumped in.

"Think I'm gonna do this one alone. I think you all should as well. Personal skill will weed out the weak, and hopefully that's what they're looking for." Azel was off as soon as he finished talking, gathering what connection he had to the Force. For the first minute or so, Azel let his slow walk take him into a meditative state. Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot....again and again until he felt the Force show itself inside him. Azel kept walking, slowly, and sending out probes with his mind. Well, more so looking for what wasn't rather than what was there. Hopefully he'd find someone.

Eventually, Azel decided he should just wait. He knew Connor and Coci wouldn't stay still. They'd want to move around, check out how each new Shadow was doing. So, he found a nice little corner, and crouched down. A lifetime of hunting on Endor might actually be handy in a galaxy of powerful Sith and Jedi and armies of droids.

While the others were speaking, Chashmona did not. "I will be right back! I forgot something in the ship." She had something up her sleeves and for that she had to return towards the ship. It was a whole type of other approach to the challenge. Her state of mind was 'black can't be seen on black so you need something white' The young girl ran towards the ship and went towards the kitchen. She took a bag of flour and held her teddy bear near in her shirt.

When she came back at the area. She crossed the bridge and went straight for the Dark heart. It didn't matter for her. She was young, she was innocent, she was stupid, she was careless, she had courage, she had seen the dark, she had been tainted slightly before, but nobody can call her evil. She didn't trust people, but when would you trust someone within total darkness? What if your best friend had always been your greatest enemy.

She went into the entrance of dark heart and had no idea what would be happening to her, if she was getting watched over or not. She grabbed with her left hand some of the flour and held it in her hand. When she heard a little tingle she would toss it over towards that direction.

Little Chashmona, ah what a treasure. In the mind of a child she had hit on a great idea, but as Coci approached, she hesitated before the flour was thrown but she would not let her down. As the flour settle on the floor, she walked through it and left her foot prints on the walk way. However, that would only allow them all a brief guide as the flour would vanish off the boots and the trail to vanish once more.

But in the room, all was quiet .. Connor near by. Hidden within the walls of the Heart, he knows this place like the back of his hand, as does she and together they make a formidable team when they are not at each others throats. She hates that in fact, feeling like she has lost him. He is so very different and Coci is not sure for the better, but it is his life and a path needed for him to take, regardless of their differences, she will support Connor as long as he respects her too. She does not want to loose him as a friend, but if he continues to deem her views and opinions as weak, that too of her husband who has only ever loved him, she will let him go. Enough would be enough.

Yet a voice gently sits on the air in the room. Master Seb has returned and is wanting to speak. It is easy for him to find them, so much experience and knowledge in a man so 'old'. You are blowing our hiding place Master Nadav, telepathically communicated. At least pretend you are looking for us, if they happen to enter.

As George watched as the first member of the group leave it seemed as everyone had different ideas on the matter. George felt as if it would be better to stick together, work as a team, but hey if they didn't want to. George couldn't make them. "Alright then, so Azel is off by himself." He paused looking around "And has anyone seen the little girl that was here?" He must of missed her departure... Did she go into the Dark Heart by herself or did she leave? George wasn't sure, but he definitely felt it wasn't the place for a little girl.

"Alright I am going to head out too. Any of you are welcome to join me, but we gotta get going." He wasn't sure if the others would follow into the darkness. It seemed that since the time had come to move into the shadows some were reluctant. As he looked at the group he nodded his head. "Good luck to you all, and hope to see you on the other side." He said as he began to make his way into the Dark Heart. Letting his mind open up freeing itself from the thoughts beyond the walls, George knew he had to keep himself here and not letting anything outside the Dark Heart go. As he would need all his strength, focus and will to get himself through this maze of darkness.

Connor moved along deeper into the Dark Heart catacombs, the stench of humidity all around and a dryness in the air that could be mistaken for the clutches of darkness seeping through the Force around this place.

Rubbing his hand along the arch of a wall he passed by, hearing scuttling noises up ahead, Connor reached up and pulled himself up in the stone beams going along as foundations to hold up the crafted passageways. Nothing more now than a shadow himself, squatting a good 8 feet above the ground like a bat watching the dimly lit passage below, Connor hung his head and felt truly alone out in the lands.

The scuttling carried on, and a movement caught his eye passing underneath on the stone - Kag bugs.

500px-Razorbug2_negwt.jpg

Sharp pincers, sickly colouring, needle-like tendrils that did nothing but pierce and burn flesh and fully grown to be the size of an adult splayed hand – a good dozen or so of the little blighters moving across the rock.

Connor chuckled softly – better those bugs than a wandering Nexu! This would keep the Shadows on their toes.
