Dev Shadows of Atrisia

[Junko Ike]

Junko was looking at the drink when she got hers... like the kabob it was just a bunch of fruits... beautiful and fragrant. She could see the juice and water from the bottom. THe straw was metal and could be kept with intricate designs on it... not a terrible thing as she knew some planets liked to make thicker paper straws... cause they didn't know how to recycle with molecular furnaces. She was able to check more of it and the fruits as she took a bite were sweet and ripe. MOre of it when she ate a piece of the meats and then took a drink... to walk down the way with them and having one in both hands. Mahiri getting them some porter droids for shopping items.

THe droids helped as they could carry many of the bags and created a train behind the large procession. Her handmaidens were moving as well and checking some of the other shops. Some of the silks and jewelry were beautiful. Junko could see more of it and one of the shipbuilders were there.. showing the designs and what they were planning... as well as the various contracts from worlds around the Commonwealth.. that was the most important part of it. THey needed hundreds of workers who could help with the contracts for interior and exterior work on the ships... were offering some of the highest pay and benefits to working with them which included permanent employment if they did a good job.

Junko was looking at some of the offers the people were making.. massive credit amounts for those who would be working with them... promises of housing and food supplied for the time it would take as they were not just working on one ship.. the teams would be working one after the other on ships as they were being built. An assembly line but they would have more than enough so they would be employed for several weeks if not months and longer. Depending on the contract that was being given. She could see some of the contracts were for thing ships they were selling to New Cov as the contract was given to Frisal as well as Atrisia.. since they were producing a lot.

"Wonderful look." SHe offered a smile and the representative was looking at them. "Ah ladies, welcome... I do not know if the pair of you would be good... but we do have positions for sales reps on other worlds. I know we are hiring for corporate positions to meet with worlds like Atrisia over some of the contracts we have been getting and share." Junko smiled and looked at Mahiri as she raised an eyebrow at it but. "Well that certainly sounds interesting... but how would we ever go about meeting such worlds... aren't the reps they use intimidating?" She asked it and the woman looked at her. "Oh no, the princess of Atrisia is a beauty and works well with everyone she meets."

"Oh she is?" Junko asked it and looked at the woman as she turned to her handmaidens. "So much is rumor about her." SHe said it and the woman was looking at her. "No no she is wonderful, works with everyone but she never likes to leave her palace so you have to go there. It was how we met her for contracts." Junko raised an eyebrow and never recalled taking meetings in her palace for contracts like this... they had lavish meeting areas on the Anshin for shipbuilders so they could display their works and what was needed. "Oh so you have seen her palace?" The woman nodded and her handmaidens were standing around but listening and prepared to react.

"Of course, she is always there and only invites the finest to come. As one of the reps I went to negotiate and had her eating out of the palm of my hand. She'll do anything if the person is good enough looking and brings her presents." Junko smiled and listened to the woman continue and motioned with her hand and finger for Miyoung to go and get her boss. "And what about the princess of the city here? SUrely she is just as beautiful." Mahiri raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything as the woman looked proud of herself and puffed up her chest. "The princess here is just as easy... you just need to distract her with credits and she'll fall for anything."

Junko stayed there for a moment... a smile on her face when the main boss was coming over and seemed to do two things at once.... hear what the rep was saying and recognize Junko and Mahiri. "So these princesses are just easy to manipulate?" She asked it and Mahiri seemed just as interested as Min was there next to the owner and keeping him quiet. The rep selling the idea. "Always, you just need to look hot in your outfit and they'll do whatever you want." She seemed like the type to bust out a hologram with a blurry image to prove it if they would ask but Junko shifted her eyes towards the owner and brought the reps attention to him.

"Ah Gobuko." He paled which for an Atrisian could be quite an amazing feat. "Princesses..." He said it and the rep seemed to turn back and look at him and then at the pair as Junko stood next to Mahiri with a grin on her face. She was checking the woman over. "Oh do continue... I love hearing about myself." SHe remained there looking at the owner wass sweating... Barca and Kirano staying to the side and the rep seemed to realize what was being said. "Ah well, you see princesses." Mahiri was looking at her and spoke. "You are from Frisal yes? You know much of our rules regarding polite conversation. The princess has only been here a couple of times and could be forgiven but a citizen."

THe woman seemed to pale even more... Frisal had some of the most strict laws to its decorum... talking about a person when they were not present was rube but depending on the situation could be allowed or forgiven... making up things about them, claiming familiarity... that was bad... worse when it was in a way that suggested untowards behavior. What was worse as the owner was now a witness he had to act... he nodded his concent to it as guards were being brought it and reciting the statues of their laws which had been violated. Mahiri looked at the women who was angry and scared but bowed. "Apologies Junko... that was more rude."

SHe bowed her head. "It will be alright... what will happen to her if I am aallowed to ask?" Mahiri shrugged and spoke with a look. "We will try her in a court of law... her comments about you and me alone are slander and such could carry execution... if she spoke like that to others and worked to sew public discourse with domenstic or foreign leaders... there could be more to her family in terms of penalities. At the lowest punishment she will spend her life imprisoned in a rehabilitation camp that is run for out citizens to try and re-enter soceity but she would likely be there for life." Mahiri shrugged as death was an answer to a lot of their severe crimes.

Junko wanted to advocate for the woman... misguided as she had been... but she needed to respect what was happening here... their culture... their rules.... ALso the women was implying that she was vapid and cheap with the ability to be easily manipulated. Her instincts as an Atrisian was to well let it happen.. she had spoken out against all of them but she was also a jedi... just because she wasn't in a jedi temple didn't mean that she stopped being one. Retirement was not something that was supposed to be done... others did it yes they treated it like a job they could relax and clock in and out for... confused her and most of her family.

"As a jedi I should advocate that she not be killed for her indescretion but I should also respect the cultural differences between us.... That said I do want it to be noted that I politely asked for leniency in this instance." Junko said it and Mahiri nodded. "It will be noted." Her guards nodded as they would make sure to say it but they were not really worried to much. JUnko shrugged... different planet different laws and the woman did know the dangers of it... she grew up with the politeness enforced like this after all. "ALl of that out of the way, I think we should return to our rooms at the palace... shopping has lost its zeal and luster."

Mahiri seemed to accept that answer and nodded. "I can understand such an annoyance princess Junko. Wanting to respect traditions you might disagree with is not always easy but you are doing admirably." She said it and leading the way back towards their carpets as porters had the shopping in its own transport so they could travel lite still and make good time was important to the look. Mahiri wasn't upset with them and Junko found herself not entirely upset either... the princess was right... the woman did know better and had made the conscious choice to do it... so she would be able to face the consequences of her actions.

Junko and Mahiri got on their carpet with a grin on her face though. More of the people were there and there were dancers who enjoyed the scenes before the handmaidens and the princess. SHe sat there though as they were heading up and the sounds of the dancers in the street while preformers were singing... the movement was slightly distracting when Junko nodded her approval. "Your dancers are beautiful... I would want to book them if they traveled to Atrisia... my palace needs some of the best in many cases.. and they are beautiful." Mahiri gave a nod of her head though as many of the dancers would be around the palace.

THe trip back to the palace wasn't uneventful... JUnko might have viewed it soured but Mahiri wasn't to blame. Arriving at the balcony was beautiful though as the white and gold design was illuminated by the sun. PLenty to see before they were heading back inside and with all of the things being sent to their ship by the porter droids it would be searched, scanned and moved after fully being checked over just in case anyone tried sometime. The emperor and empress were there as they returned with food. "We heard about what happened, most rude and vile for you to see princess. Please accept our apologies as the offending party will not be able to now... but their restitution will be coming from the family."

Junko didn't argue but she wanted to... she didn't need that as there was unlikely to be anything the family could give them that... well she didn't already have. THey were losing their daughter or their sister or a mother after all. "THank you for informing me." SHe said it and bowed. "IF there is anything that I need to fill out." The Emperor looked at her and then Mahiri with a nod of his head. "NOt much, I know you likely wouldn't want this but her rudeness and slander about not just you a guest and longtime friend but also my daughter it not somethi99ng that can be allowed. IF she had given prior notice she intended to insult and exaggerate we could mark this up to an indiscretion."

Junko internally snickered at some of the rules... insults and some personal verbal attacks could be forgiven if you served notice... to her it was hilarious but at the same time endearing at least. She was glad some things didn't need to change. SHe actually did enjoy reading some of them and it was cheerful in a way. "I won't lie, I disagree but I am not here to try and change an entire planets way of life... we respect much of our allies and it isn't illegal or immoral in some way. Strict maybe but not something that the galaxy would condemn." SHe said it and the emperor was looking at her warmly though. "I know but it is why we are such strong allies... Atrisia is just as polite."

THat she could agree with when it was properly done... when people gave into the showmanship of it all and Atrisia really shined with their lavish court meetings. Everyone was polite and things were handled behind closed doors... the surface was to give pageantry to it.. to make it so those on the outside looking in would be able to see the beauty that can be politics. The Senate did a lot of talking and usually only altered things on a small scale... Atrisian dealings went for a global scale and worked to try and make everything that they did much better for the people and their allies across the commonwealth in her opinion.

"We try to be and we try to make sure everyone is professional.. so far we are working with one of the finest companies and worlds in the galaxy who share the ideals of advancing rather than stagnation." She had a look on her face while she was thinking about it and well Frisal and more of them were presenting the chance to really work on what they had done. New developments were always being made and the jedi were working on more things for them.. Atrisia benefitted from that and they spread it to the rest of the Commonwealth which improved everyone and they were able to spread that to let the jedi engineers and artisans develop more things.

"We have a number of other things being designed based off of what our jedi allies have been doing to improve. Their study of some older technologies has been the benefit and with what I have seen here.. I think we might have some ideas of where to improve other aspects. We might be able to pass more contracts we have had in the back burner if the amount of engineers and workers done there were all not employed. Or help with our latest in manufacturing to improve shipyard production." She got a look on her face but the emperor nodded. "THey are in need of work.. we try to make plenty for them but shipyards take time to build."

SHe understood that... shipyards were among the largest and hardest to build as duplication wasn't the easiest of it to develop with all of the sophisticated equipment that you needed. Atrisia and Sasori itself developed massive shipyards with their anshins that would serve and be what they had to use. It wasn't something you just rolled out.... but she also knew you could get a good amount of ships made with some of the largest ones you built. Junko looked at the emperor and was nodding her head. "We have ran into the same problem.. the Anshin's have been developed to change that but they are not mobile and draw attention to the planets."

The emperor looked at her and gave a nod of his head. "WE haven't gone the full route but with enough of our ship yards we are developing some ideas of what to do about contracts... if we can organize them better and use some of the other planets in the system. The expansion itself will be able to see tens of thousands more employed and working towards our goals." THeir goals of making everything match some of the worlds that were being considered ultra wealthy... if the Commonwealth could develop many of the aspects so all of its member worlds were more appealing... once they were set they would build up the others more.

"The employment is important... Atrisia is making it bigger with our improvements... everyone is able to work in theory and grow their own food, make their own products and either sell themselves or sell to the Commonwealth government... officials pay plenty and stockpile it for reserves. WHen there is extras and we do get them more often since starting it... we can trade and sell it off. Or donate as needed but we have managed to sell to other worlds in the core that import at a higher price because we have dozens more options and can transaport more in. So it will average out for them if they do it right... sometimes."

Junko grinned at that as importing Atrisian products was expensive... outside of the Commonwealth. For the worlds within it was exponentially cheaper and the ability to grow their own food served even better as the Commonwealth produced much much more. THe EMperor nodded to that and the Empress expressed her approval. "IT has helped the modules allow many more foodstuffs to be grown but converting the entire planet to them would need more time." Junko nodded as she thought about it and her handmaidens were taking over a lot of things to get their items to the ship. "IT took us awhile and we have been working on many improvements to our farming."

Mahiri had joined her parents as Junko was speaking. "And with our farming improved we moved to medical supplies... bringing up many of the components that are needed for it. With biodomes dedicated to developing important plants or synthetic conditions needed. With the efforts we have been adding to and building up the massive reserve." She walked as they were taking her through the hallways. THey would be able guide many of the handmaidens who were there. THe walk down the highway had them moving and speaking. "We have also been looking at what we could inprove among our ships and fighters."

Mahiri looked at her. "We have been seeing some components being designed weapon wise if we can build them in a way with a combination of the technology... it would be an impressive feat to be able to have some of the cannons that are almost turbolasers that are able to be set up. Fighters in a combat situation with cannons that could be used against larger vessels is always a better thing. System components designed to aid in speed management and navigation will also be beneficial if we are able to do it... and navigational aid." Mahiri had many things designe and Junko knew that they had overdeveloped their equipment for that purpose.

"New ship designs are impressive that have been coming out from Atrisia and Sasori... I know they have been working on many things more. We use most of them but that biotechnology we have not been able to cultivate yet... we don't have the shipwombs for it but we have been able to make the shell for it." JUnko nodded... they happily used it in many cases since the shells would have many of the components aside from the brains of the system themselves. "And we have been loving it. Some of the best craftsmanship for vessels that were being brought to Commonwealth space to help the different people and patrolling the trade lanes."

"We have seen them, we wanted to work on many other things. The crafting of some of these ships we built we have managed to develop a few new types... like the superior stealth vessels using that new metal you have for the hulls of the ships themselves." Junko nodded the marque class vessels that they had helped develop were welcomed for the newly employed works of the commonwealth. Captains and commanders who worked to protect trade for them by raiding raiders and handling them as needed. With their new combat armor and uniforms it also gave it a new formal styling. THey needed to work on better engineering equipment.

"Our stealth technology has been improving by leaps and bounds, the new metal is ideal as i allows the ship to be in stealth all of the time barring other factors. Then the ships are able to do something no others can.... fire from stealth with heavy cannons. WE are looking to improve it for mine laying sapper vessels which could be used to seed and develop or place some of our cloaked mines. We are looking at better means to improve their self replication capabilities and we have done it with the lavenring which is for the shipyards and hendrox torpedoes." THe self replicating torpedo that could be fired was a game changer in some ways.

SHe knew they had developed other ones as well.. they had hyperspace tracking torpedoes... able to lock on and track with high accuracy even detonating and ripping ships out of hyperspace.. they had developed terraforming torpedoes and had already developed sun seeker torpedoes that went after ship engines. With a full arsenal they just needed to develop some more stealth weapons like a stealth turbolaser that wouldn't be able to be seen... she had some ideas of how they might be able to make it work if they did and it would benefit them. "I have seen some fo them when we are arming warships... the new weapons are something no one else seems to have."

"That is the hope and the point." She said it with a grin on her face as advanced weaponry was a big thing... you could outsmart or you could outgun... or in the case of what was developing among Atrisia you could do both as they were prone to try. That they focused on advancement of it as well as diplomatic and trade means also helped. THey were looking to be a powerhouse without having to be a massive target as the Alliance used them or the CIS had used them... but largely ignored them. "We have been trying to out think and out gun and outlast over direct force. It is why we have adopted to making terraforming equipment to build our own colonies."

The terraforming of lifeless worlds was a benefit to all of them.. it would build up, it would improve and in time they could transplant people and animals as needed. Build the ecology to fit what Atrisia needed and wanted. Develop most of it... and in developing it they would be abel to control the needs and output. Atrisian trained and operated... it wouldn't be far flung colonies.. it would be dozens of worlds all built across the Commonwealth while they had allies and saturating they would do everything to make them just as strong and expansive. "We have seen that and terraforming out systems worlds is started."

The emperor was nodding with that... they had a real chance here for it and.... "The terraforming is important.. expansion is a healthy sign of a civilization and while we know Atrisia's ultimate goal is to expand its dominion across the galaxy... even if it i isolated. It isn't terrible to have your allies included... plus we don't have to do it right away if in a thousand years the commonwealth takes a handful or three more planets and expands while improving its trade, economic appeal, military and medicine then well beneficial. Once it becomes the ideal model and able to sustain its own growth others will want to come and join."

The emperor knowing the long term goal that was being laid out by the emperor of Atrisia was both not surprising and surprising at the same time. He didn't judge it... Frisal and Atrisia were so closely tied in terms of trade and economic growth the world would only benefit as they produced the Commonwealths bulk of ships so expanding meant more shipyards... more contracts and more resources. That it wasn't going to be rapid would means they could expand and improve their sustainability so they were the most appealing to the other planets.... a place that feeds, houses and cloths its citizens while employing them and offering expression was vastly appealing.

Junko looked at the emperor and the empress with a nod of her head. THey could discuss things like this all day... for a week even or longer and there was always more possibilities. THey would need to move on but there was also needing to check on more things that they were working on. Junko had a few ideas for things that they would be able to improve. Her handmaidens had everything loaded. "But we must go emperor, empress, Mahiri." She bowed... "But there is a gift for you, a second generation of our choushin vessels." The emperor looked at her while one of the bunny cats came to joion them and Junko held out a hand.

"They transform now... the ship able to shift internally its interior to a pocket dimension and allow them to have a smaller form.. and once they shift into a ship it returns. Allowing less human crew and more droid or biot that can handle the transition. WIth the right mindset it can be a means to move entire ships across the galaxy undercover and then can be used to launch sneak attacks if it is needed." That seemed interesting and well they had experimented with it... it was why the second generation ones had the biot boxes and means to grow their own troopers in reserve. They benefitted from a full crew but also the means to send forth troopers.

She had all of the specs for the vessels so that he would be able to see. The chance to really check them out since more and more Atrisia was going to be developing the biot based vessels since the original choushin allowed growing and these they could make from saplings just the same but a little faster. A third generation may go the distance and evolve the technology and as it was coming to be its own species even more. The Choushin biots themselves were able to operate and control the ship itself and had personalities that they were not expecting.. they just needed to learn some interaction in ways.... then there was the arisen she had seen being made.

Junko also had the benefit that the Atrisians were developing always newer technologies... exciting technologies. Had a close eye on the market and what was being built by others who may or may not entirely be as noble but means to counter or a means to develop their own was important and it was why they had the brightest minds.... or cultivated the economic domination that was their own trade network. Making the right people outside of the Commonwealth rich well it benefitted them a lot more then just flaunting the wealth... it paid to not bribe per say as these were the people who needed the funding but favors were never asked for.

Junko was cleaning up more of their things, organizing it and she changed into one of the outfits they had bought. Mahiri helping her as the silks wrapped around her shoulders and down her arms in curls to small rings around her fingers. Her midriff exposed, a small thong and piece of silk along the front that went to coverings for her feet. It looked beautiful and almost like a slave girl outfit minus the metal and chains... so it was lighter weight... maybe one fo the advisor outfits a person could get and see. Junko had a grin on her face though while she was moving and walked around checking on a few of the other items her handmaidens had bought.

"IT looks beautiful on your princess." Mahiri spoke and JUnko bowed her head to that presenting it with a curtsy. She was going over everything else. "Thank you princess." the smiles between the two were nice and clear.. they had a good time after all and well she was glad they had been able to discuss so much. She had things planned as Shoma seemed to have made a deal with or at least the first hints at the premise of a trade deal with New Cov... she would have to go there and meet them as she was more the diplomatic one who knew their businesses... he really was interested more in his sciences and roaming around sweeping girls off their feet... noble endeavors.
