Shifting Blues and Shifting Sins (Yuuthayn)

Crucius Sin

A Sin That Shifts
"Don't."

Crucius smiled at the blue-skinned woman. She didn't believe him, huh? Well, he was insistent that she was wrong. She was beautiful. His grin widened at the idea of releasing his true form, but he didn't know if he could do it.

"My true face, and the one I was born with, are two different things... The one you see is the one I was born with. My true face only comes out in times of extreme physical danger. I call it "battlerage", but it practically forces itself through whenever I get my adrenaline really running."

He didn't mention that this face was also the one that everybody wanted to stab sharp objects into. That seemed to go without saying.

I smirked, turning my face in his direction. "Really? So you can't just do it? It has to be beaten out of you? Hm. Weird. I wish I could do that." I stretched a bit, and lied out on the metal floor. The sun was starting to set, causing the spire to begin to glow a bright yellow-orange.

Crucius lied down on the ground next to the scaly, blue, woman. He almost wanted to reach out and feel her, but that seemed like something that would get him into a good bit of trouble.

"It's a pretty monstrous old thing to turn into... And I still like how you look. You don't believe me, but all those scales and ridges you hate so much suit you very well."

I cocked a brow. "So, you're saying I fit the 'big blue reptile' category?" I joked. The longing in his posture was apparent, as was the look in his eyes. "Go ahead. You can touch me. I'm not some hormonal teenage girl, you know. I see no harm in physical contact." My job was erratic and unpredictable. If I was bothered by being touched, I'd probably be dead right now.

With a small smile, Crucius reached out to touch the blue woman's cheek, gently running his fingers over the ridges of her face. He really did like them, and he really did think she looked beautiful... But she didn't believe him. At all. He pulled his arm back so he could slide up closer to her.

"Nothing bad about being a hormonal adult, though... At least for a little bit. Anyway, tell me about your job. Is throwing people off buildings fun?"

I kept my eyes on his face as his fingers grazed mine. How funny that he could be interested in something as miniscule as my scales. I turned my gaze to the sky when he asked about my job. "Sometimes. Assassinations are only an occasional thing, though. Most of the time, it's just stalk and gather intel." I folded my arms behind my head. "Am I gonna learn your name, or am I just gonna have to keep thinking of you as 'guy'?"

Crucius smiled a fraction wider, leaning up on his elbow to look at the blue-skinned woman better. With a silly wink, the Shifting Prince tapped his fingers on the floor.

"You can keep thinking of me as whatever, but my name's Crucius."

"Crucius. Sounds old and fancy," I said with a grin. "I suppose there's no harm in letting you know my true name. I am Yuuthayn." I leaned up on my elbow to get a better look at him as well.

Crucius laughed at the blue woman's assessment of his name.

"It doesn't mean anything, except that my dad liked the sound of "Cruc" a lot. My older brother, the one that stabbed me, is named Crucix."

His smile widened when he heard her name.

"Yuuthayn, huh? Makes you sound like some kind of princess or something."

I chuckled. "If only! Pretty sure it's supposed to mean something in some ancient dead language. I never really cared. I'm honestly surprised that my folks even gave me a name." They could've just given me a number. Like all the other science projects they had.

Crucius sighed a little bit, with his smile devolving into a smirk.

"I'm surprised my parents got to name me. Crucix has always liked hurting things weaker than him. I'd think babies would be his kind of target."

I looked over at him. "Something tells me you'd put up one Hell of a fight when it comes to something like that. I don't see you as carrying the weak persona." With someone of his size and nonchalant demeanor, I could tell he wasn't just some sniveling coward who quaked in the face of danger.

Crucius grimaced at the memory of the one true fight he'd had with Crucix. His hand unconsciously felt around his chest, to the scar that did not disappear, no matter what he turned into. The red of his eyes dimmed a bit, and he undid the collar of the shirt to show Yuuthayn the long scar where his brother's Sith sword had ripped through his right lung, down to the top of his stomach.

"No, I'm weak... If I was strong, the bastard would be dead, and I'd be on a throne in that palace of his instead of an abandoned spire. Not..."

The Shifting Sin smirked, pulling his shirt back over the scar.

"... that I'm complaining, really. I hate commanding people."

I found myself reaching over and lightly touching the scar before Crucius closed his shirt again. "Getting beaten and surviving doesn't make you weak. Getting beaten and dying does. There will always be someone stronger than the strongest person in the Galaxy. The point is to remember that if you were weak, you wouldn't be here today." I would know this. I had been through countless fights that I didn't win due to being seriously wounded. If I was truly a weak one, I would've died right there at the scene. But I didn't. I made a comeback and saved my ass before that could happen.

Crucius' smirk grew a little at Yuuthayn's definition of 'weak'. To him, he'd be weak until the day he could smash Crucix's face in. His brother's death was his only goal, and that was the only gauge he had of his own power. Sure, he and Aireen had managed to escape, but that just proved that Crucix's guards were stupid.

"That's a relative statement... My only goal was to kill my brother. I failed. I'm weaker than my brother, and that means I'm too weak. So is everybody else in my family. Plus... I'm a bit of a broken blade. That wound was more serious than the scar shows."

"What a somber outlook on life. Yes, you didn't get to kill him. Yes, he wounded you. But a broken blade can still kill a man. All you have to do is stab him in the right places." I replied. I took my finger and lightly tapped the tip of Crucius's nose. "Look on the bright side. If you hadn't survived, you wouldn't be sitting here next to a 'beautiful blue creature'."

Crucius smiled and grabbed the hand that Yuuthayn used to bop him on the nose, using it as leverage to slide himself closer to her. He slung her arm over his neck, and smiled even wider.

"I suppose my bit of the argument is that you wouldn't be here if you weren't a rare shapeshifting blue lady who throws people off buildings for a living. I'm liking the result, so far."

I gave Crucius a surprised grin when he pulled himself closer to me. I just met him, and already he was under my spell. It was almost amazing how easy it was to do this. "Good point. And I bet I can get you to like it more." I pulled him even closer to me, bringing my face in so close that our top lips were touching. I stopped there, my eyes boring into his. "I bet I can torture you with it, too..."

Crucius ran his tongue the sharp points of his teeth, and brushed his hand over the scales on Yuuthayn's face again. The Shifting Prince stared almost coldly back into the blue woman's eyes, but still smiled. He was looking into her mind now.

"You think I'm easy, huh? I suppose you're right. Wouldn't you be, after twenty years, though? I think this will be the most pleasant form of torture I've endured."

His teeth brushed against her cheek, and slip up towards her ear.

"Well, torture me, Lady Shifter."

"With pleasure..." I grabbed his wrists and used my weight to flip him onto his back. I held him there, straddling his torso. I didn't kiss him. Instead, my lips trailed to his neck and I began biting him. As I went downward, I sank my teeth further into his skin. When I reached the nape of his neck I bit so hard that I could taste his blood on my lips.
