Valery: Appearance
As Kalie placed a hand on her shoulder, all Valery could do was smile. She was likely going through one of the hardest times in her life, and unlike hardships in the past, she had people around her who cared and helped her. It was a somewhat strange feeling, but one that made her more emotional than she likely showed.
"You're the best, Kalie, really." Valery smiled and quickly leaned in again, wrapping her arms tightly around her friend. This time though, it wasn't a hug for comfort or because she was sad, but because she wanted to show just how much she cared about her best friend as well.
"I look forward to being roomies, but there is one other thing you should know. I... don't think Onderon will give me the answers to deal with the parasite — I'm going there for now other reason," she admitted. "In the visions I get, I keep seeing the faces of old friends; Jedi I once worked with. I have a feeling that some are still stuck in that facility, also to be experimented on."
"I want to go there to help them if that's the case and to confront my past once and for all. The problem is that I have no idea where this facility is, so we'll be looking for it. This can be quite a dangerous mission but I feel a lot better having someone I trust there with me."
"And hopefully, we do find some answers to fight this parasite."

As Val spoke, Kalie furrowed her eyes slightly, confused a bit at the sudden shift in objectives. She listened, but it was difficult for her not to interrupt her friend and question her as to what her actual plan was for the deadly parasite.

As Val finished, Kalie leaned her elbow up against the top of the table, looking intently at her friend, “I will totally go and help you, of coarse! It’s just… I feel like you need to focus on you right now, not you friends. If they are stuck in carbonate, then we can go find them after we figure out what’s going on with you, right? I don’t want you to sacrifice yourself for the sake of others when you don’t have to...” She squeezed Val’s shoulder affectionately and gave her concerned eyes. “We can get you all healed and better, and save your friends, can’t we?”

Valery blinked at Kalie's words and suddenly went silent for a moment, her focus drawn inwards as she thought about her friend's words. It wasn't uncommon for Valery to prioritize the well-being of others over her own — that was an almost essential part of being a Jedi. To be selfless, and to protect and help those who needed it.
But Kalie was right. How could she help anybody if she was going to die like this in the end?
"You're right," Valery said with a somber tone when Kalie squeezed her shoulder.
"I've tried so much already to deal with this parasite. Force Healing, traditional treatments..." she looked up at Kalie and frowned, "I even contacted the best doctor in the New Imperial Order and met with him. I don't know what can stop this parasite but it was placed inside of me within that facility as well."
"If we can find answers there, that will be our priority. My old friends... I'll have to help later."

Kalie nodded somberly, looking back over at the live music that no longer provoked her to dance, “Ok… I’ll request some personal leave from the agency. We will figure this out… I promise…” She grabbed onto Valery’s hand and smiled warmly, “You are the strongest person I know, Val.” She then tried to lighten the mood a bit for her friend, letting out an authentic laugh as she pushed Val’s cocktail closer to her hand, “I’m sure you haven’t tried EVERYTHING… Like, have you tried to kill it by dancing like a crazy person and drinking delicious cocktails??” She felt like Val was carrying so much on her shoulders, and that it would do her friend some good to let loose and have a good time. Essentially? Kalie needed to get as many drinks into her best friend as possible! Forget about the parasite... forget about all the craziness... right now was the time for Valery to celebrate her new baby and her wedding day! Kalie grabbed her own cocktail and took a good drink, hopefully encouraging her friend to do the same.

With Kalie's hope and encouragement, it was simply impossible not to smile and push away the somber thoughts. They were going to get through it all, and now it was time to enjoy the better things in life. She had finally started her family and here she was, spending time with her best friend in the Galaxy who despite her own problems was still wanting to help.
"You know, Kalie... I think you're right." Valery smirked and raised the glass to her lips to down the cocktail rather quickly. Of course, Kalie didn't know that Valery could filter alcohol from her system, but she decided against completely doing so. It was time to let loose a little.
"Drink up and then I'm showing you some moves on the dancefloor."
