By Order of the Diarchs, An Invitation to the Shores of Artorias

From Zara Saga, Archon of Light, Greetings to our Valued Companions, Comrades, and Kin,

The echoes of the Diarchy Grand Declaration Ceremony have barely faded, and already we turn our gaze to the future, a future we envision built upon the strong foundations of unity, understanding, and shared purpose. The galaxy now knows of the Diarchy, of the peace and order we intend to bring, a beacon of hope amidst the chaos.

But even the most ambitious endeavors require moments of respite, opportunities to forge stronger bonds beyond the grand halls and political machinations. It is with this intention, and with great pleasure, that the Diarchs, Reign and Rellik, extend to you this most heartfelt invitation:

Join us on the sun-kissed shores of Artorias, a world of breathtaking beauty nestled amongst the stars. Imagine golden beaches meeting the shimmering embrace of the Great Sea of Artorias, the gentle symphony of waves providing a soothing counterpoint to the trials we have all faced. Here, amidst the white-stoned architecture that defines our world, we have secured a private compound, a sanctuary dedicated to the very people who stand with us.

This is not a gathering of formal decrees and pronouncements, but rather a chance to step back from the weight of responsibility, to laugh freely, to share stories, and to build lasting friendships with the men and women who will be at the forefront of shaping the Diarchy and our place in the galaxy.

Come, let us unwind together, let us share a meal, a laugh, and a moment of peace. Let us bask in the beauty of Artorias, and in the company of those we hold dear. Let us nurture the relationships that will ensure a future where the Diarchy's promise of peace, order, and prosperity becomes a reality across the stars.

The Diarchs and the High Council of the Diarchy eagerly await your company. We believe this gathering will not only be a source of much-needed rejuvenation, but also a catalyst for the unity and cooperation that will define the Diarchy's future.

With the Light of Order,

Zara Saga, Archon of Light, On Behalf of the Diarchs, Reign and Rellik.

The last shimmer of the cleaning drones faded as Zara Saga, Archon of Light, surveyed the compound. The white stone buildings, gleaming under the Artorian sun, seemed to hum with a quiet anticipation. Every room, every suite had been meticulously prepared, linens crisp, datapads charged, ready for the arrival of their valued guests. The grand dining hall, a mosaic of light and shadow, was set. Silverware sparkled, crystal glasses gleamed, and the scent of exotic flowers, flown in that morning from a nearby world, filled the air. Chefs, hand-picked by Reign himself, were putting the finishing touches on the evening's feast.

Yet, despite the careful preparations, Zara felt a slight flutter of anxiety. This was not a formal summit, or a council meeting. This was something… more. A gathering meant to forge bonds, to relax, to let down their guards. It was a risk, but a necessary one. The Diarchy, even in its nascent stages, needed more than just political allegiances. It needed camaraderie, understanding, and the genuine connections that only moments like these could foster. It was Zara's firm belief that friendship, not just duty, would be the bedrock of their shared future.

She took a deep breath, the salt-tinged breeze from the Great Sea of Artorias filling her lungs, and a small smile touched her lips. It was time. The last of the setting sun painted the sky in shades of orange and purple, a breathtaking spectacle that could only be seen from this world. It was the perfect backdrop for the first act of the evening, a rooftop cocktail hour she had personally arranged.

Zara moved quickly and efficiently, her boots clicking softly on the white stone path. She reached the stairs leading to the rooftop bar, a place carved into the side of the compound that offered a panoramic view of the horizon. The bar itself, crafted from polished obsidian, reflected the vibrant sky. Bartenders, hand-picked for their skill and discretion, were already in place, ready to mix fantastical cocktails from across the galaxy. The air was filled with the gentle hum of repulsor lifts powering the lighting and cooling systems that were vital to combat the heat of the Artorian day. Lounges, plush and inviting, were arranged so guests could mingle and connect.

A final check. The bar was stocked with the finest spirits from the far reaches of the Diarchy, the variety astounding. From the fiery nectar of the volcanic planets to the smooth, glacial elixirs of the ice worlds, there was something to pique every taste. The music, soft and lilting, was just right – unobtrusive yet engaging. Zara nodded in satisfaction, her fingers brushing the cool metal of a nearby lighting fixture. Everything was in its place.

She straightened, her expression softening into a welcoming smile. This was it. The first test of their shared hope, a chance to become more than just allies. It was a chance to be friends. As she turned to greet her first arriving guests she felt a surge of optimism. The setting sun would soon vanish below the horizon, but in its place would rise the promise of a new dawn – a dawn forged in laughter, shared stories, and the unbreakable bonds of friendship, all beneath the watchful gaze of her Diarchs.

To say that the Diarch needed this reprieve was an understatement. After the fireworks of the Grand Declaration, he and his brother felt the whole Diarchy needed a break. Constant war planning and updates had worn every member of the high council thin, not to mention the soldiery and navy.

At the Diarch's behest, the newly elevated Archon of Light had procured and planned something of a beach day for the men and women of the Diarchy. And he could say, it was very well done. A day of light was needed amid so much darkness.

Approaching the Archon, he gave her a nod of greeting and said
"You have done well, you should be proud, now let's have a drink before Diarch Rellik Diarch Rellik gets here and finishes the lot"

With that, he moved towards the bar and ordered himself a Corellian Whiskey, his usual favorite, and sat staring out upon the waves, losing himself briefly in a sense of profound peace.

"CANNON BALL!"

Gavin's booming voice echoed across the tranquil shores of Artorias, reverberating against the cliffs and rippling across the shimmering waves. His muscular frame hurtled off the high mountain ridge, clad in vibrant swim trunks that contrasted sharply with his scar-covered skin, each marking a story of battles fought and survived.

The Great Sea stretched endlessly before him, its turquoise waters glistening under the midday sun. Palm trees swayed gently along the white sandy beach, and clusters of white-stone structures dotted the shoreline, a perfect blend of nature and Diarchy architecture.

Gavin hit the water with a resounding splash, drenching the nearby rocks and anyone unlucky enough to be standing too close. As he resurfaced, he threw his head back in laughter.

“Now that’s how you make an entrance!” he shouted, turning back toward the shore where others were gathered. He waved his arms enthusiastically. “Come on, don’t be boring—get in here!”

The scent of the sea air mingled with the faint aroma of grilled food coming from the compound’s dining area. The sound of laughter, soft music, and distant chatter painted a picture of camaraderie, a stark contrast to the chaos and discipline of Gavin’s usual life. He dove back under the waves, marveling at how weightless he felt in the water, relishing every moment of freedom.

Today, there were no wars to fight, no orders to follow—just the open sea, the sun above, and a rare chance to be free.

Finally, I can leave for summer vacation earlier than expected. I decided to take Nyva with me so she can indirectly enjoy it too. All I hope is that it turns out to be a real break. As for me, I've shown up in beachwear, opting for light clothing for the occasion. By the way, it's Nyva who's carrying the basket with all our things.

This idea of an impromptu vacation is a welcome one because I was starting to feel a bit stifled in the faction's laboratory.

I spot the local warrior putting on a show, diving headfirst into the water while shouting at the top of his lungs to draw attention to himself.

I haven't even had time to set down my things, and they've already started.

I set up two lounge chairs, put on a pair of sunglasses, and change into my swimsuit to make the most of the beach. Nyva does the same she lies down on a chair and allows herself to relax because I told her to.

"Hello, everyone!"

I sit on one of the lounge chairs I set up, apply sunscreen to protect myself and avoid getting burned it would be a shame otherwise then start heading slowly toward the water to swim a little.

Meanwhile, Nyva takes the opportunity to enjoy a tanning session.

The Diarch was many things. A warrior, man of science, "magician" but above all - he was bald! While the others had begun enjoying their day Rellik was pre-occupied trying to ensure the protective material he was applying on his skin and head would protect him from getting burned by the sun. "Gah, can walk out of a burning building but cant enjoy a beach day without layers of this stuff!" After putting on his fighter pilot sunglasses he would check in the mirror one last time for any spots he might have missed. "Nice." giving himself two finger guns in the mirror he departed to hang out with everybody else.

Coming out unto the rooftop for the cocktail hour he noticed Zara and Reign already in discussion. The panoramic view of the skyline was amazing. A paradise within their space that everyone they loved could come and enjoy. This is what the Diarchy fought for. A small chuckle came out upon seeing Gavin's cannonball. He fit in so well with them, a vigorous heart and spirit.

Stopping short of the others Rellik would partake in the hot lava nectar of Taspir III and order himself a Fiery Mustafarian. Something he was becoming known for drinking. As he approached Zara and Reign he would do a little dance in his maroon swimming trunks, laughing in the spirit of the event as he arrived. Strong frame, tattoos and a small bit of sun protection still on his nose he asked his brother and compatriot - "How do I look?" all while doing a little twirl and dance.

What better way to spend a beautiful summer day than sunbathing on the beach? With my Master's blessing, there's no reason not to enjoy myself a little. I notice a few people already here and there, so I take the opportunity to set up some lounge chairs and lie down on one to soak up the sun.

After all, I was ordered to relax, so there's nothing wrong with this. A bit of well-deserved rest will do us good. For the occasion, I'm dressed in black swimwear, ready to enjoy the beach. I also brought a towel for when I decide to go for a swim.

I set up a beach umbrella to shade the lounge chairs, creating a spot where we can retreat from the sun if needed.

I hear someone splashing into the water just as my Master's own master arrives as well.

"Good day, Lord Rellik. And others."

I make sure not to forget my manners, offering a polite nod in their direction. Then, I slip on a pair of sunglasses and sink into the lounge chair.

I had considered setting up a barbecue with some grilled food to enjoy a proper feast, but I'm not sure if anyone else planned for that. At least I thought to bring lounge chairs and a parasol that's already something.

I silence the notifications on my datapad; I don't want to be disturbed today. That said, I take the chance to snap a photo as a keepsake it's not every day I get to see my Master in swimwear. Usually, I see her entirely unclothed when she needs me to fetch her a towel or something similar.

As the one carrying the beach basket for myself and the Master, I've ensured we're perfectly equipped for this afternoon. All that's left is to enjoy it.

"You look Good, Master Rellik."

Seeing the ease with which the Diarch Reign moved, a subtle smile tugged at her lips. "Thank you for the kind words." she echoed, her voice carrying a genuine warmth. Following him to the bar, she ordered a local red wine, a contrast to his whiskey, that spoke to her own preference for something a little more subtle, a little more refined.

Her gaze swept across the rooftop venue, taking in the vibrant scene unfolding below on the beach. She nodded thoughtfully. "I quite like this place," she agreed, her mind already turning to strategy. "We should hold discussions with the King here to see about bringing them under our wing here soon." A flicker of ambition ignited her eyes, quickly masked by the return of her earlier warmth as she watched Gavin's exuberant cannonball plunge into the water below. The sight of the others enjoying themselves brought a deep satisfaction. They deserved this respite.

Just as she was about to address hiding the drinks away before Rellik's arrival, the Diarch appeared, his approach more a performance than a stroll. He was followed by a Mirialan woman, and Zara's eyes widened, trying to decipher who the new arrival was. The Mirialan woman was quick to compliment Rellik on his looks and Zara returned the question with a light laugh, her eyes dancing with amusement as she noted the generous application of sun protection. "Dashing as ever." she teased, a playful glint in her eye. It was a welcome change to see the Diarch outside of his war planning mode, even if he did resemble a heavily sun-screened warrior.

Zara discreetly motioned to the bartender, a gesture that promised generous pours. These leaders needed to truly disconnect and let loose before the inevitable return to the realities of war. Their spirits needed to be as strong as their resolve.

"What is a fiery Mustafarian?" she blurted out, curiosity and a sliver of playful skepticism coloring her voice. "I'm not sure I want any food or drink from.... Mustafar." she joked, a slight wrinkle forming between her brows at the thought of the lava planet.

Finally, she turned her attention to the Mirialan, a warm smile gracing her features as she extended her hand. "Zara Saga, Archon of Light. Who might you be?" Her tone was welcoming, genuine interest shining through. The air around the bar crackled with good spirits, thanks to Zara's preparations as well as everyone's willingness to let their hair down, even if Rellik's hair was non-existent.

The organizer approaches me and asks who I am. Understandable, really it means I'm doing my job well. I sit up from my deck chair, and when she introduces herself, I incline my head politely to thank her for sharing her name. I'm not sure of her rank, but that's of little concern; her introduction is sufficient.

"My name is Nyva Shei. I am Miss Thrynn's assistant a healer and sniper in her service. By extension, I also serve the Diarchy."

For this occasion, however, I didn't bring my weapon. After all, we're supposed to be on vacation, and security is already handled. I politely explain that Lyssara is my superior and that she invited me to attend so I could enjoy the event as well.

It's no surprise she doesn't know me. I spend most of my time either in the laboratory or in the infirmary, rarely venturing out to social gatherings. I hold no grudge over her unfamiliarity.

"I work primarily in the lab or on the field It's no wonder we haven't crossed paths until now."

The truth is, I'm here because my mistress asked me to assist with carrying some of the equipment, though it was mostly an excuse to let me join in the festivities. She could've easily managed it all herself. For that, I'm deeply grateful. She's allowed me a rare moment of leisure, and I'm more than happy to spend it in her company.

I turn to Zara, offering her a warm smile and extending my hand in greeting.

"It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Good day, Lord Rellik. And others."

Rellik, in a more relaxed mood was surprised to hear the voice of Nyva from behind her lounge chair. Doing a slight jolt his glasses flew off of his face. As he insured his drink was not spilled he reached out and caught his shades before they could hit the ground. Quickly putting them back on and smiling as if nothing had happened. The two ladies, ever so polite and kind, ignored the moment and responded to his previous question.

"Dashing as ever." - "You look Good, Master Rellik.""

Puffing his chest out in a display meant to be obviously joking counteractive to his previous display. "Thank you very much ladies. There are not many views better than the one from this property. Zara I appreciate your effort in setting this up substantially." He gave a genuine bow to the Archon. Stopping his joking nature for a moment.

Taking a sip of his drink the Archon moved on and asked him what a fiery Mustafarian was with a slight look of ick forming on her face. Rellik blew out a illusionary cloud of smoke and responded - "Something with just a little extra spice for fun" A smile upon his lips.

As Nyva and Zara introduced themselves to each other Rellik moved to the edge of the balcony. He watched as Gavin was moving through the water like a gorilla in a jungle. A natural ease even for a man as large as him. The Diarch would put one hand up to his mouth to help echo his words and yell out to the pupil. "YOU BETTER SAVE SOME OF YOUR STRENGTH. I HAVE BEEN PREPARING MY LEGENDARY SAND BALL GAME!! I SEEK GOOD COMPETITION!" Rellik excitingly awaiting his reply like a small boy. Ready to set up the net and grab the blow up ball for some epic rounds.

Reign watched with amusement, both the display his apprentice had put on, as well as the peacocking of his brother. Taking the moment to bask in a peace that he was afraid he would not feel for some time.

Without turning to the Archon he said
"I have heard talk of a resort potentially being planned for the planet, one owned by a friend of the Diarchy, perhaps that is the perfect way to bring Atorias into the fold. We need a place of peace."

As his brother continued to strut and issue out his challenge to Reign's apprentice, the smile returned, quipping quickly to Rellik he said "Please brother, you couldn't beat me when we were children, what makes you think you can now!" his tone playful yet competitive as he too looked towards the blow up ball and net yet to be set up.

As he looked out to the water, a thought struck him similar to what Gavin had done, perhaps he would join him.

Shedding the beach clothes he had worn to reveal a set of black and gold surf shorts, he proceeded to the ridge that his apprentice leapt from, calling out

"LET ME SHOW YOU HOW IT'S DONE VEL!"

before leaping from the ridge, and performing multiple flips in the air and landing into the water at a perfect dive. Coming up on the other side of Gavin, he used the force to splash a huge wave of water onto the other man.

Zara tilted her head, considering Nyva. A healer and a sniper, an unusual combination indeed. "The pleasure is all mine," she replied, her smile soft and genuine. "I'm glad you could make it."

She watched as Diarch Reign, ever the showman, rushed forward to prove his skill, jumping off the nearby cliffs with a flamboyant flourish. A playful glint entered Zara's eyes as she turned to Rellik, Reign's older brother. "Are you going to let your brother show you up like that, Diarch Rellik?" she teased, her voice light with amusement.

As the scene of diving Diarchs unfolded before them, Zara started to move down towards the beach, gesturing for Nyva to follow. Her curiosity was piqued.

"So, where is this master of yours?" she asked.

"I don't think I've had the pleasure of meeting them either?" Zara's soft gaze turned to Nyva, a mixture of genuine interest and polite inquiry in her expression. She was always interested in the people who moved within the circles of the Diarchy, especially those, like Nyva, that she had not encountered before.

I'm lying on a deckchair, watching Nyva chatting with another person who seems to be the one who organized the event. She asks who the master of the Mirialan is, and I raise my hand from my spot on the deckchair, wearing my sunglasses.

"That would be me, her Mistress, Lyssara Thrynn. A pleasure to meet you. I belong to the R&D division of the Diarchy."

I flash a small, playful smile and wave casually from afar. The atmosphere is perfect, ideal for relaxing after the relentless work in the lab it's doing me good, I can't deny it.

I thought ahead to bring my towel and some beach gear so I can go for a swim. Maybe I'll even build a sandcastle if I feel like it.
The beautiful blue sky promises a radiant, sunny day. I'll need to put on sunscreen at some point to avoid getting burned in the sun.

Zara Saga Zara Saga

Zara's head turned towards the voice, her gaze now fixed on the figure lounging on the deckchair. Lyssara Thrynn. The name rolled off her tongue, a new piece of the Diarchy's puzzle falling into place. A smile, warm and genuine as always, graced Zara's lips as she moved towards Lyssara.

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Lyssara," Zara said, her voice carrying the same gentle lilt as before. "I am Zara, Archon of Light." She chuckled softly, the sound light and melodic. After reaching Lyssara's side, she summoned a nearby deckchair with a flick of her wrist, setting it down gracefully before settling into it beside the Mistress.

Zara's gaze flicked across the beach, where the Diarch brothers were still engaging in their boisterous display of athleticism. A small, amused smile tugged at the corner of her mouth as she observed them, a familiar fondness coloring her expression. However, she quickly turned her attention back to Lyssara, her interest piqued by the mention of R&D.

"I must say, the R&D Division has always intrigued me," Zara admitted, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "I've heard whispers of your accomplishments, though I am not always privy to the details. Tell me, Mistress, what wonders do you have in the works over there?" She settled back in her chair, her expression a perfect blend of politeness and keen interest, ready to listen and learn.

Gavin appeared deep into his swimming and when the Diarch turned around he heard his brother talking smack.
"Please brother, you couldn't beat me when we were children, what makes you think you can now!"
Always enjoying the brotherly relationship they had Rellik clapped back with a slight smile and calmy stated.
"Bah, you are old now my friend. Look, I doubt you could even swim in the same waters as your apprentice before being washed away." Relliks mischievous grin in full display as he side eyed his brother.

Reign being a good sport took it to heart, looked out at the water, stripped do his shorts, and put on a fantastic display as he dove in.

With a happy laugh and proud eyes he turned away from the demonstration back to the wonderful ladies sitting upon the deck. Now fully aware of Lyssara and Nyva's presence he acknowledged them both.
" Lyssara Thrynn Lyssara Thrynn I am happy to see you enjoying yourself my pupil. It is good to remember power comes from meditation within yourself and having fun as much as much as finding new sources out in the galaxy." Lowering his glasses and looking at the Master and Slave duo "You both look lovely as well! Always nice to be able to get a tan."

He would grab one of the remaining lounge chairs and wait for another cycle within the event or for the other attendees to challenge him to some Sand Ball. Looking over at Zara, who's hair shimmer in the sunlight - "I am sorry for not introducing you to my apprentice! She rose quickly and was not in the crucible much if at all instead of under my tutelage. A prodigal scientist in that regard."

"WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!"

A ruckus came from the other side of the island, where the water met a bend. You can see something thin, sleek, and shaped like a "J" that was speeding rapidly towards the beach. There was also the zipping sound of repulsorlift, and someone gunning it as hard as they could. As Ova Ziss arrived with his speederboat, he splashed water on anyone who was unlucky enough to be in the water when he slammed on the airbrakes.

"You folks have GOT to try this thing!" Ova Ziss beams as he sits aboard his new creation, giving the silver head of it a pat. He throttled the speederboat onto the coastline and then beached it. Ova was dressed in a speedo, but he had a white bath cloak wrapped around maybe sixty percent of his body. The old man was kinda just letting it all fly out. He grabs inside of the console of the vessel, producing a glass and then a bottle of champagne, which the gripper robots promptly releases.

Ova walked towards the large group of his friends [ Lyssara Thrynn Lyssara Thrynn , Zara Saga Zara Saga , Diarch Rellik Diarch Rellik , Diarch Reign Diarch Reign and Gavin Vel Gavin Vel ] and smiled. His plastic sandals made clopping noises. "Hello, hello! - Ain't she a beauty? It's my latest new invention. It's like a speederbike, but it's meant only for the water." The workers at Ova's company had been offered a vacation to Artorias, and they were so thankful that they left the Speederboat design on Ova's desk. Of course, he manufactured a dozen prototypes immediately. This was just one of them. Tertius had another one...where was he, anyways?

"Champagne, anybody? Let's toast to these two Diarchs over here, shall we?" Ova playfully nudged Rellik. If anyone deserved a toast, it was Rellik. Without his timely intervention, the whole team could've died on Asation in that HyperGate facility. It was Rellik's quick thinking which got them to the objective, thereby keeping everybody safe.

Ova poured champagne for anyone who wanted it. He stands for a while, staring out at the water and listening to his friends. His feet sunk into the coast. He was admiring the beautiful industrial engineering work of United Industrial. He was admiring the setting sun and the rocky outcrops far off in the distance. He was admiring how the great, blue ocean seemed to swallow up the planet for miles.

When Ova turns around to talk to the group, Ova notices Nyva Shei Nyva Shei right away speaking with Zara Saga Zara Saga . He strolled over to the two, a champagne glass held aloft, and he offers it first to Zara. "Archon Zara, I must say, the Estate is splendid. Thank you so much for your invitation." He shook her hand, and then went right in for Nyva. "Well, hello there. This is a new face." Ova Ziss offers a handshake to Nyva Shei as well. "As they would say elsewhere in the galaxy, enchanté." He paused, finding his words. The young Mirialan was incredibly attractive, and it could've been really easy for Ova to mince his words. He started with eye contact. E-eye contact! AHEM!, he thought to himself.

"I'm Ova Ziss, and...I would absolutely love to take you for a drive in that speederboat. Care to join me?" He smiles at Nyva. It was a friendly gesture, but if she perceived it as something more, Ova sure wouldn't complain.

Something catches my attention another person joins us. I don't know them yet… However, I gladly accept the glass of champagne and thank them for the gesture with a polite nod.

The champagne glass is still filled with tiny bubbles a sign of good quality. I take a sip after clinking glasses with them, savoring the refined taste. He gives me his name and says he is pleased to meet me. I don't know what to think of him yet; it's too early to form an opinion.

"My name is Nyva Shei, a pleasure to meet you as well."

His proposal is rather surprising: a ride on a speederboat? I'm unfamiliar with it. Or at least, I haven't had the chance to pilot anything other than the Trident. I've been so absorbed in work that I haven't really taken the time to have fun, even for a moment.

I turn my head toward my Mistress, who discreetly nods at me, confirming that I'm free to do as I please today. Relieved to have her permission, I turn back to Ova.

"Alright, why not? I don't know it, but I'll follow you."

I must not displease my Mistress, but since she has given me her approval, I suppose it's fine. So, I accept Ova Ziss Ova Ziss invitation.

Nyva seems to be drawing much more attention than I am good for her. When she looks for my approval, I give her an encouraging nod. She doesn't need me to go speederboating.

I then turn to Zara, who approaches and sits beside me, eager to hear more about the R&D team.

I turn to my master as he speaks to me and I give him a smile for the compliment he gave us.

"Thanks you Master, We're going to make the most of this break, thank you for the tips!" Diarch Rellik Diarch Rellik

I raise my glass in her direction, offering a friendly smile, genuinely appreciating her interest.

"Well, I'm working on numerous projects at the moment. We recently created a Sithspawn, Nyva just received her personal Trident, and I'm working on a prototype for object storage. But it's not quite ready yet."

Projects are multiplying in every direction from simple droids to the most complex creatures not to mention certain creations that are, let's say, less official. My latest endeavor? A kind of drug, a shot of happiness.

"I'm currently developing a prototype of a specific powder that I plan to market later. Do you have any name ideas? For now, it's called O-24, but that's not exactly appealing from a marketing standpoint."

I take out my datapad and show her some of the lab's projects, including the famous Ragnarok I worked on, as well as a philosopher's stone shaped like a carrot, capable of turning lead or other metals into pure 24-karat gold. The pinnacle of alchemy is within our grasp.

"I love breaking the laws of physics: antimatter, immortality, metal purification, the creation of all sorts of unusual objects. For example, my star racer is a flying broomstick."

Ova smiles at Nyva Shei, and gestures at her to follow him up the beach towards the water. "Amazing! Let's go! You're going to have a blast!"

When they get to the beached speederboat, Ova pushes the repulsorlift track of the machine back towards the water. He spins the speederboat so that it is facing the horizon, and hops in. The moment that he enters the pilot position, the speederboat turns on.

"That's the cruise control!" Ova points at the electronic hub. "It will even clamp your champagne glass for you!" Ova demonstrates it for her. A tiny, chromium robotic hand came out of a slot in the front console. It gently grips the stem of Ova's champagne glass. A robotic arm on the passenger side would offer the same for Nyva.

Ova takes hold of either side of the steering handle. He throttles the engine of the machine, and it gives off a mighty roar. "Ready for a little demonstration?"

Ova flips the accelerator, and the boat eases away from the coast. Ova pilots the speederboat slowly at first, letting Nyva enjoy the view of the setting dusk across the water. Then, he started ripping on the throttle, letting Nyva's hair wave in the wind from the speed. Ova was enjoying a view of his own. No, not of the coast, or of Nyva (not yet, anyways). Ova was enjoying seeing his work in action. Even the mineral baron was shocked by how well the speederboat handled; at how quickly it accelerated. It was too bad, Ova thought, that the speederboat didn't have any armaments on it. Though he didn't feel the need to do so, he could see how this speederboat could be used by the army in a pinch...you know, if the Diarchy needed it one day.

Nyva and Ova take a short ride around an island bend. After a while, Ova engages the cruise control. The speederboat piloted itself.

Nyva and Ova found a nice, quiet place on the water: a place close enough for them to swim to the docks, if they so desired. Ova shut off the engine, and then gently maneuvered the bow of the speederboat towards the sun. They coasted gently to a stop.

Lyssara would be able to hear their conversation from the water, and even call out to them if needed.

"Ahhhh, now THIS is the life! How was that?" Ova handed Nyva one of the champagne glasses and then offered her a toast.

"To the liberation of the Hypergate!"

After Ova wet his whistle with the champagne, he wanted to satisfy his curiosity about the beautiful woman.

"You work for Lyssara, right? What kind of work do you do?" Ova didn't seem to realize that she was a...an...ahem, an 'indentured servant'. There was no slavery allowed on Dantooine, and so the man didn't have any conception of what that was, or the fact that it existed in the galaxy. Ova added, "I am a mineral baron and a Governor." He was trying to impress her, not realizing that he didn't really have to do that.

Removed that ugly and unreadable background I was using before, in favor of the default background.

Zara settled into the deckchair with the kind of grace that seemed almost second nature to her, the silken fabric of her dark sundress flowing softly around her as a breeze teased the hem. She crossed her legs elegantly, her blonde hair catching the sunlight like a golden cascade, and let out a small, contented sigh. For a moment, her gaze lingered on the beach, where the Diarch brothers were still engrossed in their spirited game of sand ball. Their exuberance brought a flicker of amusement to her face, the corners of her mouth curving into a smile that was both fond and knowing.

Before she could reply to Lyssara, Rellik approached the two women, his laughter booming over the gentle lapping of waves. Zara turned toward him, her expression softening into one of polite warmth as he greeted them, all charm and charisma, as usual.

When Rellik apologized for not formally introducing his apprentice and called Lyssara a "prodigal scientist," Zara tilted her head slightly, as though considering the weight of the title. She took off her oversized floppy hat with a deliberate motion, exposing her face fully to the sun, but instead of setting it aside, she reached forward and plopped it lightly atop Rellik's bald head.

"I wouldn't worry yourself over introductions," she said with a light laugh, her voice the kind of rich and soothing tone that invited trust. "But I must say, a prodigal scientist sounds like a very worthy person to have in one's corner. Still..." Her smile turned playful as she lightly adjusted the brim of the hat sitting on Rellik's head. "You'd better be careful not to get burnt up there, Rellik. The sun shows no mercy."

She winked and leaned back into her chair, her blonde hair pooling over one shoulder as she turned to face Lyssara, giving the apprentice her full attention now. Zara was nothing if not genuine when she listened, and every word out of Lyssara's mouth seemed to enthrall her further.

"You're working on a philosopher's stone?" Zara asked, genuine awe lacing her voice as her eyes flicked over the datapad Lyssara had pulled up. "Shaped like a carrot, no less... How whimsical." Her curiosity was palpable, the way she leaned in just slightly, her blue eyes sparkling in the golden sunlight. "The pinnacle of alchemy, you say? If anyone could accomplish it, I wouldn't doubt it's you."

"You, my dear, are an invaluable asset to the Diarchy,"
she said sincerely, taking a moment to glance back at Rellik with a raised brow. "A prodigal scientist was putting it mildly, wasn't it?"

As their conversation wove effortlessly from topic to topic, a sleek speederboat cut through the water's surface in the near distance, stealing Zara's attention. A man disembarked with a kind of practiced casualness that suggested he was no stranger to occasions like this.

"You're too kind," she murmured, accepting the glass with an artful tilt of her wrist. The champagne caught the sunlight, glittering as though made of liquid gold.

The man complimented her work on preparing the estate, which she responded to with a gracious yet modest smile. "I only did what was necessary to ensure a fine gathering," she replied, the ever-present lilt of elegance in her words. "But it's appreciated, nonetheless."

Before long, the man's attention was drawn to Nyva, and Zara watched as the apprentice joined him aboard the speederboat. The exchange was quick, like the dance of two sparrows, and soon they were whisking away over the waves, leaving swirling mist in their wake.

She turned to Rellik, her champagne glass balanced delicately between her fingers, and raised a curious brow. "Tell me, Rellik, who exactly is he?" she asked, her tone suggestive but lighthearted, almost teasing.
