- Speed - Designed to ferry Jedi across the galaxy; the Sigma-5 is equipped with powerful sublight engines and thrusters both attuned for above-average speed. A class 1.0 hyperdrive has also been installed to ensure that the jump to light speed is quick and smooth for the occupants of this fine vessel.
- Stealth Suite - Several military-grade modules are featured on the Sigma-5 and allow it to hide from most if not all sensors that an enemy or nosy acquaintance can bring. While these most avoid scanner detection, reflec and Stygian-triprismatic polymer were fitted to the hull in order to give it more versatility against visual detection as well.
- Lightly Armed and Armored - In order to compensate for the power and space taken by the speed and stealth capabilities of the vessel, the armament was lowered to make it more in line with an interceptor rather than a starfighter. Defenses were also halved, the shields being replaced with a lesser version and standard durasteel armor with lightweight, and therefore light protection, armor.
- Communications Blackout - Deciding that due to the exclusive use of this fighter by Jedi, the engineers decided to remove all communications systems in order to not tempt the user from using them while the stealth suite is active; thereby giving away their presence.
With the resurgence of a Jedi Order that rivals that of the Galactic Alliance, qualified Jedi Knights are in high demand for their skills as peacekeepers and diplomats. With the need for said Jedi to be ferried across the galaxy quickly and safely in order to carry out their duties established, the Order's contingent of engineers and pilots decided to work on a standardized personal transport to serve these purposes.
Based on the legendary Eta-2 Actis-class and StealthX starfighters, the Sigma-5 has been perfectly tailored to provide a balanced between stealth and combat capabilities. Maintaining the appearance of a Z-95 Headhunter, the ship has two laser cannons and two energy torpedo launchers which are usually the armaments of a standard interceptor craft for most conventional militaries in the galaxy.
While shields are still present, they are a lighter alternative and in no way can withstand much punishment from enemy fire before faltering and exposing the equally weak armor to further damage. These two weaknesses are countered evenly by the ship's amazing speed and above-average maneuverability from the advanced sublight engines and thrusters installed. Along with this; a class 1.0, the fastest non-modified on the market, hyperdrive is equipped for swift navigation of the galactic plane.
Surprisingly, modules made exclusively for the warfare have found their way onto the Sigma-5, those modules making up an extensive stealth suite that render the ship virtually undetectable on both sensor and visual scanners when combined with the reflec hull and stygian-triprismatic frame. Unfortunately, this does mean that any form of communications is absolutely useless while the ship is 'sensor cloaked' as that would immediately give away the vessel's position.
