Silent Shimmer

Vaermina’s eyes widened and brief panic swept over her mind. Can he read my thoughts? I wasn’t having any thoughts. Yes you were. Okay, but not like dirty- Yes you were. For kark’s sake. Don’t you wonder what he looks like- moving on!

The two bodies were dispatched, one slightly more elegant than the other. “True.” secretive then? Suppose it was fitting with the whole assassin persona. The less she knew about him the better, and perhaps the same was true the other way around.

“A camera?” Well that was embarrassing. But who knew what sort of tiny tech things could kill you at any given time. Didn’t hurt to be prepared.

There wasn’t much left to it then. In an overly dramatic fashion, Vaermina threw herself out across the side of the corridor, slamming herself into the opposing wall as she went nutters on the trigger. Did this thing ever run out of ammo? Did it need to reload? Was she still shooting? Hard to know with an invisible, soundless weapon. To be sure she kept clicking until the thing went pop.

Now hopefully mr assassin did his job.

Once more the strange woman did not extend her name when he tugged for it.

Strange, but Jairus supposed that being trapped in a cell for this long would have given her some trust issues. It worked out just as well. He didn't truly want to share his either, after all. His eyes closed and breath stilled for a brief moment. The Sith Lord was waiting for opportunity. For a call through the Force that the moment to act was now. It was better this way, rather than rush along and hope for the best, he would know when the moment was the best.

Then act accordingly.

Vaermina shot the camera.

The blaster itself was silent as were the bullets, but the impact and the smol boom of the camera exploding were most definitely not. The set of guards at the far-end of the door raised their voices in alarm- fear as their hearts caught in their throat, before they slowly came to investigate.

After all, they had not seen any blaster fire, so more likely than not it was a technical failure. Yet Jairus waited and waited, instead of going for the kill. To such a degree that Vaermina was about to say something, until he shook his head and cut her off with a finger. He would know when the time came to strike. More seconds passed and in the meantime the guards were looking up at the ceiling. The alarm through the Force shook his body and eyes snapped open.

Burning bright amber and within a moment the assassin was gone.

The drop of two bodies to the ground would tell Vaermina that the job was done. If she looked around the corner she'd see him grab both corpses, swinging them over his shoulder. "Go get the other two, pull 'em in, we do not want to tip off the Baron."
