The High Council had gathered, as it often did, in a chamber large enough for the dragon's hot air, and that was rather a lot. Some attended in person, some by hologram. This meeting had already covered numerous subjects, from defense arrangements to reform plans to training consolidation. All the normal business of the High Council.

"...and that about wraps up today's agenda," said Rave, shifting in her seat. "Before we adjourn, I do have one request and plan to put before you. You all know how we acquired forty percent of three corporations -- small ones, but relatively important for keeping our friends under control. Like their parent company, though, they don't seem to do an awful lot. I've recently acquired another chunk of stock, ten percent of the mineral corporation, and I'd like to make the High Council as a whole an offer for our shares of the mineral corporation alone. In return, I'd offer my shares, and share of the profits, from the other two corporations, as well as a terentatek coat for each of you who can wear one -- and its full value, a million credits, to Faenrovon or any of you who already own one. I dislike unprofitable investment, and a new direction for the mineral company will force the parent company to start paying attention to its other subsidiaries, boosting your revenues."

Lucien drummed his fingers on the table "My Lady, I of course approve this measure" Lucien said, he could think of far more immediate ways to drive up standards however it involved mounting heads on walls and once you began doing that the slope became very slippery and you quickly found yourself atop a mound of corpses. It was therefore more prudent to drive up standards raves way. He himself had little use for such a rugged coat, his bodyguard however was another story.

"Nothing's ever simple with you, Rave." She grinned. Hello, fighting cray-cray monsters bigger and louder than Ma's cooking mistakes and Southern Corellian drawl when she was cussing up a storm against Pa.

"Tell me if I have this right. We give you forty percent for ten? Plus we get a coat or a million creds?"

"The High Council currently owns forty percent of Minerals and Metals Incorporated, S.S. Shipmaker, and Blasted Decisions, all of which are considered tier two corporations -- very small. I'd be signing over my shares of the shipyard and the blaster manufacturer, but eight million credits -- or the equivalent in leatherwork -- is far more than Minerals and Metals is worth in total, let alone forty percent. The offer's more than generous; I'm even told it's a bad move on my part."

Sitting back Sargon watched the exchange, he had no doubt in his mind that whatever Rave was going to do with the mining company would make it quite a bit more profitable. Pulling up the information on the mining company itself the Zabrak just chucked and watched the others to wait for their decisions. Things were never as simple as they seemed the question was did he trust Rave to do what was best for the Fringe itself? It took less then a minute for him to do the quick math in his head to decide that while he couldn't attest to exactly what she would do, what she wouldn't do was cripple the Fringe, or sell military grade supplies to their enemies.

"I'll slip you a trade since this is my own personal wealth this is coming out of strangely enough. Keep your money and your coat, I've been building up a bulk transport mining company for quite some time. At this point I have only a pair of bulk freighters but I'm one good solid deal from increasing that capacity. I can afford the freighters by now, but maintaining them and paying the crews require contracts. You've got to move the ore anyway, why not make a mutual profitable deal."

She listened to Sargon, surprised at the old man's appearance back with the council. Mildly surprised. She missed that ol' coot. And it wasn't hard to pick up on his trusting emotions toward the master alchemist.

"I'm in, Merrill. I trust you enough not to kark with the Fringe. If I'm wrong, we'll have words."
