Sith are gross, also, hello!

Don't correct all the misconceptions, they're really helpful when I need to throw my enemies into chaos. After all, the fact that I am so little like what people expect of the Sith makes me a fairly unexpected addition.

Yeah, I remember that little guy. I wish we could've met one another, that would've been entertaining as all hell.

"Huh, there's actually someone less physically imposing than me among our numbers. I'm genuinely impressed."

I was born and still live in County Galway, Ireland. We are pretty much the only county that speaks Gaeilge, or Irish, as a primary language. When i saw you post in Old English it made me smile :)

Question: How does Irish Gaelic differ from Scottish Gaelic, or does it? I was always confused by that. My great grandfather, a farmer from said Scotland apparently could speak and read a little of the native tounge. Also, I am given to understand you Gaels overran the Picti which probably supplanted the Pictish language. You and the Norwegian/Danish Norsemen, which causes me to wonder...is Pictish different significantly from Gaelic, and is it's melding into Gaelic why the Scots version may possibly be different? Deep thoughts from a history and archeology and linguistics dork here.

There really isn't much of a difference between the two languages for the exception of some words, phrases, and sentence forming. However, Scottish Gaelic is not recognized as an official language in Europe, or rather the European Union. Why...I don't really know. I believe it was the Anglo-Saxons along with the Danes (Danish/Denmark) that overran the Picts. Scotland for most part had been ruled/owned by the Danes, who spoke a version of German. Now, the Scots language which is different from Scottish Gaelic is more closely related to a German dialect.

FYI....Danes are not Norseman. Norseman refers to Finland, Sweden, and Norway. Also, the term Viking is grossly misused everywhere. The phrase "to go viking" meant to go pirating or plundering. So the Norseman were not "vikings" unless they decided to go pirating or plundering. Anyone could go viking, there was never a Viking tribe or Viking culture.

Sith are gross indeed. 'Tis why we're awesome.

I've always thought Sith Sorcerers were very Victorian and elegant, Assassins are more Japanese ninjas. While Warriors remind me a good deal of cybergoth, rivethead and industrial styles. At least more the aesthetic than the actual subculture.

So there is someone who knows where the term Goth came from. There is hope for humanity afterall!!! :)

I notice a lot of Sith wear some outrageous armour...my theory on not wearing armour...don't get hit :)....and it reminds me of Steampunk. I like your breakdown though. :)

My bestie in RL is Goth and she has a poster of what you posted in her apartment. We always have a good laugh when people ask what that's suppose to mean....it appears teaching proper history is fading into history.

Oh that's awesome! I'm a Goth/Lolita IRL aswell, I tend to alternate between Gothic Lolita and trad Goth though (Lolita these days is dominated by Sweet styles so ew). Steampunk tends to be alot more brown/gold in colour scheme, but I can see the comparison yeah. Cybergoth is all about futurism, technology, apocalyptic things, sci-fi warfare and battling cyborgs, plus they wear respirators and black shiny things, so that's where I make the connection to Sith Warriors. It played a huge part in my inspiration when writing Andromeda.

Yes, I know about the Norsemen. Viking meant pirate or raider, and there were examples of such from Ireland, the Baltic and even Finland. As far as I recall, though, Finns were not considered 'Norse' (neither Suomi nor Sami). Danes apparently were, though they had muc more contact with the continent as were the first to officially Christianize. Were the Finns not considered Finno-Urgic instead of a Teutonic group?

You are right that Norse (Later Swedish, Danish and Norwegian) is a German language. Probably why I have always found Swedish easier to understand and speak (in a very limited way) as an English speaker. It is said that Finnish is closer to Japanese in it's cadences and rhythm than German. Probably why I find it impossible to understand.

I know a few ladies who do lolita style dresses and wear 'em sometimes. I guess they must be 'sweet style', as you said, though the Victorian/Gothic style looks cooler.

The Sith cybergoth aesthetic is much cooler than the Jedi eastern monk, at least in this writer's mind. Darth Malgus look badass.
