- Classification: Law Enforcement
- Equipment:
DN-1 or CF6 Concussion Rifle - SIF-57s
- Stun Baton or Vibroblade
- Concussion Grenades (Sonic), Smoke Grenades, and Breaching Grenades (Occasionally outfitted with coma gas or nerve gas grenades; that is far from standard though.)
- Corondex Battle Armour Mk.I (Modified to add somewhat more complex gadgetry, as the extended training makes simplified features unnecessary.)
COMBAT INFORMATION
- Availability: Uncommon
- Deployment: Minor
- Strengths:
Specialised: Intended to quickly and efficiently eliminate criminal elements while avoiding collateral damage, SI-JEC troopers are well trained and equipped for their usual operations, though not nearly as heavily armoured as frontline infantry due to a focus on the effective use of cover and mobility over heavier armour. - Indoctrinated: In order to facilitate usage against traitors and seditious elements in addition to violent criminals, the training process involves rigorous indoctrination to prevent defection and eliminate hesitation when facing more idealistic opponents.
- Rapid Deployment: With high discipline, compact bases, and fast vehicles, SI-JEC can mobilize and deploy far faster than most conventional military forces.
[*]Weaknesses:
- Lethal: Trained and equipped to prioritise the objective (e.g., hostages, supplies, intel, or a single target) above all else, SI-JEC troopers are poorly suited for riot control and other situations where excessive force is likely to cause more problems than it solves.
- Sustained Engagements: Specialising in rapid deployment, surprise attacks, and fast-paced assaults, SI-JEC troopers lack the heavy armour, field supplies, and training necessary to be truly effective in sustained engagements, especially against military forces.
- Urban Focus: Being primarily geared towards urban environments and the occasional hallways of a ship or station, they have neither the equipment nor the training to be even remotely effective in rural areas or wilderness.
DESCRIPTION
The Sith-Imperial Judicial Enforcement Corps was founded to assist regular law enforcement with more dangerous or delicate operations, typically by rapidly eliminating anyone who poses a threat. Initially composed primarily of former soldiers recruited from the vast Imperial war machine, SI-JEC has begun to train its own personnel from the ground up in order to put an even greater focus on mobility, urban warfare, and blind loyalty. The latter being needed because its troopers are far more likely to be deployed against traitors and criminals from within the Empire as opposed to enemies for without, thus increasing the risk of desertion and inconvenient moral quandaries.
Typically deployed in small teams or squadrons, SI-JEC troopers are generally housed in small-to-medium bases in urban areas or corvette-sized starships. Each base of operations is expected to have at least one team ready to deploy at any given time; for this reason, smaller bases have a tendency to give their troopers very little free time, which coupled with the near perpetual readiness and violent operations against the occasional cell of poorly armed dissidents, has resulted in the organisation's troopers having a substantially above average chance of psychological breakdowns.
Their modus operandi is to scout ahead using the advanced sensors in their helmets, especially life form sensors, then breach and/or create multiple points of entrance with breaching grenades. Laying down heavy suppressive fire and multiple smoke grenades, they are trained to prioritise finding cover, unless dealing with an enemy they can mop up extremely quickly, such as dissidents armed with civilian grade blasters. Due to their widespread use as a hostage rescue force, they are typically outfitted with sonic grenades, though they have a tendency to shoot enemies while they are down regardless just to be sure, so the grenades are more to prevent the deaths of the hostages they are meant to rescue.
Split into smaller groups (as mentioned above) most bases, be they planetary or aboard starships, are commanded by a Captain, except larger bases, which are led by a Major. Captains report to a Major, who in turn answers primarily to planetary and sector governors, though the Saaraishash and the Courts have the authority to override the usual chain of command if they see fit.
