Sith Magic...Jedi Magic?

[member="Jacen Clanstrider"]

I agree with [member="Matsu Xiangu"].....put in the work for it. I've always believed that Magick and Alchemy was reserved for the Sith since the latter was used to break down life to create a wicked more life version....as the former was more or less something Jedi would deem evil/wicked. However, as a Wiccan/Pagan there are many aspects of magick....some ill and some not....so I say put as much work and detail into your idea....and I will thumbs up your creative mind.

[member="Matsu Xiangu"] is hitting this topic like a hammer on the nail.

There are sooooo many powers in canon that are not fleshed out, or are limited to very small uses. Art of the Small was said to heal people. HOWEVER, on this site, people use it to create weapons and gear that is against everything it was meant to be. Durasteel that is lighter than songsteel. Aluminum that can support more weight than titanium. And that's because those writers put in the work, and made it into what it is now.

As Matsu said, Necromancy is a power that should not be taken lightly. Neither is any other power that could potentially be abused.

One of my first characters, and one of my most favorite ever on the site, Was the Morna/Nick Imura bloodline. Both were brothers who were Shapers of Kro Var. I worked on them so much, making them have over a hundred threads for the both of them, just on their uses of Shaping, and pyrokinesis and other forms of alter environment. I can say with some people even agreeing with me,

Nick or Morna Imura are the strongest Fire Shapers/Pyrokinesis users on the site. The purpose of this was that I had trained for a long time with them. Played their stories for three and a half years.

Just reading this thread about you and wanting to create a Jedi Magic, The Pure opposite of SIth Magic, means you needed to start training three days ago.

I highly recommend reaching out to other Jedi who may be interested in helping you. Maybe even bribe one of the Site Admins to help you with Light Alchemy to get a rough understanding of what we do on the site. *Cough* [member="Valiens Nantaris"], *Cough* What I like to say for people who are new to the site, and want help to train, is to use that ability as much as you can, in as many threads as you can, within reason. or for short, "Every thread, is a development thread."

Hell, I would love to be able to help you if I had the right characters to do so. *I mostly play Sith, Dark Jedi, and Neutral characters*

Good luck to you my dear friend, and like everyone says on here, do not be afraid to ask questions.

I really liked your post there. Also, I feel you know my pain on Ff15 pushing the launch date again!

I would like if Jacen could learn from Valleys if he is open. I looked into him and he seems like someone Jacen would respect.

Judging by both your post counts, I assume you both have seen a lot. I was originally wanting Cumberbatch as a playboy as his look and voice fits my ideas on this character. I saw another member had him and was very active and I don't like coping people even if it is merely a look. So I went Kit til I could figure out another.

I have been looking to see if anyone uses Tom Hiddleston and I haven't found anyone. He fits my ideal look and voice, but I wanted to ask if you know anyone active using the face. (If you can't tell I like charismatic British actors lol)

[member="Jacen Clanstrider"], No problem man. If you need any help, I would be willing.

Not really. I would rather them push it back and give us a complete game, then give me a buggy and incomplete game. Little upset, but not outright angry. ;)

FYI, Tom has not been used as far as I am aware.

I am [member="Valiens Nantaris"]' Alkahest Jedi character. I can't do an RP with you at the moment, but when you're a Knight and more experienced let me know and I can teach you some things.

As everyone else said if you have an idea to pioneer Jedi Magic by all means put in the work for it, get up through the ranks and you'll feel like you've earned it. I'm also going to suggest rather learning everything finding your niche because here on Chaos people who do are the most iconic like [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] [member="Matsu Xiangu"] [member="Darth Venefica"]'s [member="Darth Carnifex"] [member="Spencer Varanin"] and many many more. When you find your niche like Sio's destructive TK, the creepy horror show that is Matsu's necromancy, the power of unlife and perversion of life itself by Venefica, the sheer destruction that is Darth Carnifex in close quarters, and the lovely Spencer's utter domination over the mind, that's what makes for a great story and how your character diversifies itself from the group. Everyone started somewhere, you just need to find your niche and work at it as you go up the ranks and before you know it your character will be known as the Jedi Magician.

For some reason your post made me think of the speech from Count of Monte Cristo at the end there. "Then everyone will know you as we know you, Jacen Clanstrider, the Jedi Magician." Not sure I'd want that title as a magician is a bunch of parlor tricks, but I do get your point.

Thank you everyone for your words of wisdom and encouragement. I find myself humbled by a site that says it is open to questions and helping new people, but then actually does it. I am afraid that this "Jedi Magic" won't come from my character for sometime as I want to milk each rank for all the story I can and thus he will be a Padawan for a while, but I do look forward to putting in the time and effort and seeing how you guys receive it.

I hope everyone has an awesome weekend!

If anything I say here holds true to what you are wishing to accomplish....then know these words "Patience and hard work bear it's own rewards."

As far as I know, no Jedi character has ever attempted to make Jedi Magick, you being the first. If you ever have questions or need assistance in doing this great project....PM me and I will help you if not for bouncing ideas off one another. Good Luck and I truly mean that.

Well. I would like to make a case of saying what is the branch of Allyan (Dathomiri) magic done by groups like the Singing Mountain clan anything but a primitive form of "Jedi Magic", as you put it? I say this because Dark Allyan Magic, or Nightsister Magic, is simply what feats can be accomplished by Dathomiri Witches who've embraced the dark side, comparable to a primitive Sith magic. Why would it not work in reverse for the more light-side influenced clans of Dathomir?

I would like to suggest a interesting way you could make jedi magic is by learning allaya magic then make your own style of allaya
magic by combine it with different jedi force techiques to get this jedi magic but it would still have some sort of connection to allyan magic like how shadow magic has a connection to each other to sith alchemy

Not sure how much I can add to all of this (Given all the great explanations I've read), but I have read and thought a lot about theories of the force, particularly, in terms of something Valiens touched upon.

If something exists for the Dark it must be possible for the Light as well...but of course difficult to create and use right away.

By what I've seen, the force is an endles energy with no boundaries. Despite what many believe, its not even fettered by the dark and light dichotomy. For instance, the Aing-Tii see it as a rainbow of colors rather than light and dark. The jedi and sith see a dark and light energy. The white current see a sort of well... white current. The Dathomiri see a magical energy that they can craft into spells.

My point is, that the force is capable of most anything you want. All you have to do is find the right philosophy or view of the force to use it in the way you like. Even if it may not exist in canon with specific name, I'm rather sure that you can find a way to make it exist.

Isn't all use of the force magic? A Jedi jumping off a cliff and landing safely on the ground is pretty magical in itself. Jedi and Sith both utilize the force, the Sith try their best to dominate it and impose their will on it, thus creating more visceral and visual effects with their magic, the Jedi prefer to follow the will of the force itself hence their expression of the force is a lot more subtle.

To me a Jedi mind trick is as magical as a blast of force lightning.

See I think the fancy spells that Sith sometimes use is simply because of the systemic teachings of their ancestors. It's the methodology that they follow as opposed to the practical force applications utilized by the jedi. Just their way of accessing the force.

I think what they are looking to create is a light-sided "Jedi" approach to an arcane expression of the force, to act as a light-sided counter to Sith Magic and be utilized by Jedi.

Same style and delivery as Sith magic, but an opposing/countering force.
