Sith Philosophy 101 (Open to anyone)

[member="Lord Sabastian"] | [member="Vengeance"] | [member="Animus Malgus"] | @T'zanith Zebron [member="Nulgath Zardai"] [member="Asajj"]

As she watched she looked over toward Vengeance the mans emotions colored his aura he seemed to feel as she did. She spoke aloud to the group. "Can people stop trying to blind me with force powers? I don't just see the power I see how you are doing it in the force. Besides light shows like that also reverberate through the force stronger than simple pushes and pulls." She hated having to deal with people sometimes who did not think of the kinds of force ripples they made. Taking her mask off briefly she rubbed where her eyes WOULD be if she had any and put it back on being sure to obscure her face still.

"Now if there are no other light shows my lords I'd be delighted to continue with the topic please?"

As the lightning went up in between them he was partially impressed with his Apprentice's abilities and how he was growing. Being a Miraluka this would have blinded him, but it seemed Sabastian's intense training was starting to help. This was good because though he would never admit it, a lot of what he did was experimental and theory. He waved his had to get rid of the wall for the female who appeared to have the same problem.

As the crackling of lightning was gone, so was the rattling. "Who said we ever left the topic of philosophy? a low rumbling in his throat began to fill the air as a little laughter filled the air, not a lot, but enough. "I personally do not like when we turn on each other or be little each other. In my youth I did very foolish things when I was a new Sith." He looked at Vengence when saying this, "but I have no intentions of killing today, but sometimes to get through to someone you must go farther than you intend, but also I saw an opportunity. Many of you are very wise in your understanding and I do not claim to know more, merely to have a passion to offer this class at this time. I want to pose a new question for you to ponder, possibly the most important question and remember what just happened before answering. Why do Sith Empires never last, why do they always seem to fall?"

He let the question hang in the air to let the Sith before him ponder the question. Sabastian's theory, based on his previous actions was the emotions. Sith gave in to emotions, but they had a history of giving into only a few like anger and hate. This brought about envy and jealousy which brought on death and backstabbing. How could an Empire grow if Sith were always at each other's throats. While power was what most Sith sought, it should never be at the price of turning on your brothers and sisters. This was a lesson he learned from Darth Venefica. Without facing him he tapped into the Force to contact Vengence and speak to him and only him, "What I did to you in my youth was appalling and unfitting of a fellow Sith. If it will make things better, I will give you something after this discussion that you may find.... fitting of the pain you suffered."

Animus Sighed. He knew the answer to this question, hell he was looking at it.
"because Unlike the Jedi, We like to kill each other incessantly" It was not the Specific of Academical answer to the Question, he could go into detail about the Failings of individual Sith Empires but overall, this was the reason. Animus Frowned... Was it always going to be like this? Destined to fail because would rather see others fall instead of rising together?... Animus would not let that Happen this time. Friendship and Love were as Powerful as Hate and Anger, there was no need to have one and not the other... We were not Like Abraxas and his Ilk...

[member="Lord Sabastian"] [member="Shuduc Macar"] [member="Nulgath Zardai"]

The tension in the room was palpable between the two knights. The Acolytes were annoyed and anxious to see more displays of useless power. With the eerie shadowy sounds growing and lightning uprooting from the ground in a annoyingly blinding fashion. Nulgath refused to go to their level and partake in magic acts, even if it meant looking like a coward. He knew himself all to well to fall for anything like that. " Empires rise and fall. Its nature. Sith are not remembered for their empires they are remembered for their more selfish deeds and achievements. Almost all Sith Lords of Old are known by name today by the masses." Nulgath paused and looked around. His smile faded and he continued. " If mere party banter is shunned in a topic such as this... Makes me wonder how far we have truly gone away from our roots." Nulgath's concern was a well worded as he addressed One Sith as a Empire and Order of Sith.

The Epicanthix glanced slightly at the Silent one [member="Vengeance"]. Silent the entire time so far with nothing to say. " Are you aware that silence is the virtue of fools?" Nulgath commented attempting to encourage the silent one to speak his mind. But not about sith politics and philosophy, Oh no Nulgath was referring to the way sith like [member="Lord Sabastian"], [member="T'zanith Zebron"] and those of the like composed themselves in situations such at this.

Crossing both arms against his chest the Epicanthixs face grew bright expecting a answer or some type of response.

T'zanith had sat down and his mood this time was foul, he came to learn and instead he had to step in between the two knights who should have known better. The other miralukan in the room showed herself and he sighed a little as he gestured to her while writing in the force above his hand. "Have you still not gotten used to highly powered force users and sith lords?" He wrote in the force so that only those with force sight could read it.
At the question purposed by [member="Lord Sabastian"] he was amused. "Simple infighting, greed, deadly rivalries and sith trying to increase their own standing at the expense of their fellows." He simply stated as he thought about it a little more. If the one sith order died out due to these stupid reason he would probably look for and strangle the sith who had brought him into the order in the first place... after he'd thank the sith for taking him there then he'd kill him.

Vengeance looked up and directly at [member="Lord Sabastian"] when the connection was made through the force. He tilted his head to the side when the statement was finished before turning back to the discussion at hand.

After a minute he spoke. To [member="Nulgath Zardai"] he said.

"A wise lady once told me on Dagobah their is no weakness in knowledge and only fools spout off nonsense about topics they know nothing about." "I believe a few in this room may know of her at least by reputation." "The Sith Lady that wears armor of the bones of the vile and destructive beasts she has killed."

Vengeance stood walking towards the center of the room.

"No today I cam here the student not the teacher." "As such I listen and I learn while, going down to the very heart of the current question." "So called Intelligent Sith bicker and threaten each other like common thugs vying for power."

He turned facing Lord Sabastian.

"The plague facing all Empires is simply the presence of the desire to inflict domination over your own kind even if it is brand new acolytes only trying to practice their saber skills." "To some it makes them feel stronger as an individual to subjugate those they feel are weaker even i f it means harming the Empire as a whole in the long run."

He turned back to Nulgath.

"Or maybe even the inability to respect that not all would be knowledgeable in all topics possibly up for discussion." "Silence is not foolish but then again not always a virtue."

Vengeance turned moving back to his original seat retaking it before looking back at the group and waiting for them to continue their debate.

Clapping his hands slowly like a gentleman Nulgath nodded to [member="Vengeance"] for not only proving his own point but for also taking a stand of his own and using his voice. As far as Nulgath was concerned he was the lesser of the two evils and was now justified in cause. Though [member="Vengeance"] did not fully understand the Epicanthixs remark in full his action and response did well enough. With a chuckle he said softly " Bickering, disagreeing, fighting for Dominance. It is all apart of being Sith. If there was no struggle, no conflict we would not learn and thus grow." he paused licking his lips. " Though in my defense I believe each Acolyte should be trained in Philosophy, Consensual tactics ,understanding of the Sith Code and how it can be used in politics, war and battle. I swear I am living in the wrong Era.." He blinked twice as he ended muttering about being born in the wrong Era.

" But nonetheless, Well spoken." Nulgath nodded deep respectfully at the young man.

Animus Scoffed. Part of being a sith? If bickering and killing each other out of dominance and the desire to exert power over the weak, and Dominance through force over one's own allies was part of being a sith, then In Animus' mind we as sith are Doomed to repeat History, because we are to blind to learn for it.
"Darth Sidious" Animus began rising from his chair in protest, erecting his posture and wiping the long hair from his eyes to the back or his ear. "A name we have all heard countless times in Studies, classes and teaching"
He paused for just a second for his acquaintances to picture the subject of his monologue.
"Under him the Republic was Crushed, but he did not do it with sheer Dominance and Strength." Animus paused again, eyeing everyone in the room one by one.
"It was cunning, deception and tactical superiority. The Acquisition of allies and the gain of their trust under the guise of good intent" Animus Grinned evilly, as if savoring the history .

"However it was his own mistrust and damage of the sith order that lead to the Demise of his Galactic Empire of the Sith in those times. He did not strengthen the Sith, did not Rise Acolytes and Training for them to one day be his successor, He did not value the Sith as an Order and did not propagate the Dark side of the Force" Animus sat back down satisfied in his furious rant. Laying back in the chair he said with finality. "If we cannot learn from the mistakes of our past, then how are we going to avoid making them again in the future master?"

[member="Nulgath Zardai"] @Vengeance @T'zanith Zebron [member="Lord Sabastian"] [member="Shuduc Macar"]

T'zanith smiled a little to himself as he spoke to himself a little. "Those that don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it." He said to himself, a statement that was oh so true about the sith when he thought about it.

[member="Animus Malgus"] [member="Nulgath Zardai"] [member="Vengeance"] [member="Lord Sabastian"] [member="Shuduc Macar"] [member="Asajj"]

Lord Sabastian sat in silence as he listened to the people speak. He watched Vengence speak and noticed the personal attack at him, but did not mind it. It mattered not to him if he was liked or not. He found it very hypocritical that Vengence was degrading the actions of his fellow Knights when he himself held on to something that really meant nothing to Sabastian. He had a rare moment of wanting to reconcile, but his words made that null and void. He remembered that day and he never walked away thinking he was stronger because he beat someone so insignificant at the time, he saw it more like a Darth Baras situation.

Darth Baras had an apprentice, an apprentice that he treated like scum and then betrayed him, but the apprentice surpassed his master, killed him, and then became the Wrath. Did he believe Vengence could surpass him? He had no idea, but what he saw through the Force now was nothing that could, just a boy who held on to insignificant things. Aside from that he did see a Knight that had something sleeping in him.

His attention then turned to Animus, he understood and agreed with some of his words, but Darth Sidious was a horrible choice. Darth Sidious killed his own master to gain the power he had and betrayed his own not for the Sith, but his own personal gain. "To believe that infighting and argueing is how the Sith are is to not know what a True Sith is. I pose a question, a question I am sure Vengence has heard since he spoke of Darth Venefica. Is it better to kill slaves to make them work harder or treat and pay them fairly so they work twice as hard? A Sith is what is necessary to bring order to the Galaxy and balance to the Force. What we do does not truly mater unless we do it fully. By this I mean t if you are going to be evil, fully be evil, if you are going to pursue power, fully do it."

"While infighting is what I just displayed with the intentions to bring this more civil I believe we can agree that it did the opposite so this is a down fall of the Sith, but I do not see it as the reason the Sith fall. Stop for a moment and think of this for a moment, really meditate on what my thoughts are, the down fall of the Sith is fear. We pursue power, turn on each other, and even fight the Jedi out of fear. We fear we will lose our power, that fellow Sith will surpass and take our power or that the Jedi will rob us of our power." He then stopped to collect his thoughts. Unlike Animus and Vengence he did not stand and was not making dramatic pauses to make himself feel and look like he was saying something of great importance or life changing.

"In reality, we can bicker and argue here and have a ego measuring contest, but in reality no one here, including myself, is better than another. So can we end these pointless bashing and get back onto the topic of Sith Philosophy?"

[member="Asajj"] [member="T'zanith Zebron"] [member="Vengeance"] [member="Nulgath Zardai"] [member="Animus Malgus"] [member="Shuduc Macar"]

As Animus sat He listened to [member="Lord Sabastian"] intently. Truly he learned something new everyday. He nodded as the master finished. This master was truly someone he himself wished to train with someday, he knew he had been @T'zanith Zebron master and what he saw in his Acolyte parter was truly something to look up to. The rule of Two, Animus thought. Was that Philosophy?
Animus did not care how long it took, he would see himself be a Knight one day, but first he needed a master... a true master. Thus came the nature of his question.
"Is the rule of Two, True master?" Animus asked Directly to The master. Golden eyes locked upon the master, the question had nagged at him in more than one way recently. As he spoke he leaned forwards laying his chin upon his fist who was lying on the desk chair... he expected a concrete answer.

[member="Lord Sabastian"] [member="Animus Malgus"] [member="Nulgath Zardai"]

Vengeance chuckled.

"A little infighting maybe not the best but I don't think there is anything wrong with a little friendly competition to keep us each at our peaks."

He looked at Lord Sabastian.

"While I can't speak for Lady Venefica I am of the impression her answer would be a mix of the two." "Cultivate a slave as long as they have purpose and then once that purpose is gone................." "If I have understood her comments before senseless killing is a bad thing or was it wasteful."

He sighed.

"Sorry Dagobah was a while back and a lot has happened since then." "I may be off base in my recollections of her personal philosophies and I was admittedly rather distracted by the presence of her apprentice."

He tilted his head to the side giving Sabastian a slight bow of his head.

"My apologies please let us get back to the philosophy."

Nulgath blinked several times as the talking went on. His thoughts grim. Everyone in the room was a fool trapped in the illusion that One Sith could function how they dreamed it would. In truth it could not, there was no way it could not with all Sith at least. Nulgath found himself zoning in and out till he heard a phrase from [member="Lord Sabastian"].

Lord Sabastian said:
"In reality, we can bicker and argue here and have a ego measuring contest, but in reality no one here, including myself, is better than another. So can we end these pointless bashing and get back onto the topic of Sith Philosophy?"
Nulgaths green eyes flashed as he heard this. The statement was outrageous when examined. " I guess you are right. The Emperors of now and old were no more better than any other Sith." He jeered once more. Nulgaths words of wisdom were done. Now all he was willing to speak was sarcasm.

Standing up and hovering by the door Nulgath was ready to leave, But not without saying more. "According to One Sith, No one Sith is stronger than another. What a conviction..." Nulgath looked around the room at everyone. They wanted to talk about philosphy then he would give him one...His.

" Peace is a lie.... This is true." Nulgath nodded his head in agreement with himself but also to trick everyone in the room to think he was going to recite the Sith code.

"But, There is no Passion....there is solely Obsession!
There is no Knowledge.... there is only a Conviction!
There is no Purpose..... there is solely Will.
There is Nothing.... Only...Me."

History does indeed repeat itself.

Very few times had T'zanith wanted some one gone from his presence, but none as much as he wanted [member="Nulgath Zardai"] gone at that moment. 'Oh I will kill you one day..' He thought as he watched the Epicanthix leave the room. Once Nulgath had left he simply sighed and leaned back into his chair and rubbed his forehead, the man was so full of himself that it had given him a headache.
The other acolytes had given good arguments as well as questions while Nulgath had simply shot everyone down and raised his own self centered views up, not very constructive now was it?
He had to think on the rule of two question. In essence the rule of two was one master, o embody the power, and one apprentice, to crave the power. As a relationship it was quite destructive and would restrict most apprentices from learning what they wanted to learn as they would only learn what their master wanted to teach them while having to hire others to teach them physical skills, but be forced to learn the force skills their master wanted to teach them.
To T'zanith it would stunt the learner until they'd find away around their master to learn. His experience with the One sith was better since if one's master couldn't teach what one wanted to learn then they only had to seek out a master that could teach them the ability or skill.

She Considered the question and listened. "Infighting is different from competition. healthy competition is normal it keeps us from being stagnant like the jedi often are. But if my Mistress has taught me one thing through her personality and teachings it's that not all Sith think alike. many are paranoid and thus seem to think everybody is out to topple them. Sidious is a prime example. A Powerful Lord no doubt but so enamoured with his trying to keep power he ensured he lost it. Too many schemes can eventually entrap the schemer." She spoke sitting back.

"As I see it Darth Bane was not a fool but he was wrong in one respect. The Sith are not a Poison and to act as if trying to concentrate us into two single sith works is a foolish errand. As noted by one of us already. The point is to Balance out culling the weak and the stupid while not binding ourselves up in so many plots we end up tying ourselves up into knots where we can no longer respond like a spider who has made too complex a web." Yes she'd said balance but unlike the Jedi to her Balance was maintained by intelligence actions and will not by trying to make sure you kept a student ignorant of things. But it also was not the prissy school of standardized teaching of the Jedi who seemed to think everybody should distance themselves from emotions or other natural things. Passions could lead to great things it was a matter of not being controlled not becoming a droid!

[member="Nulgath Zardai"] would not find it so easy to leave. From seemingly no where, in the middle of his rant on his own Sith Code, the Force would quickly and harshly close around his throat. Hate seethed into the room as a new signature could be felt. Darth Ferus, Hand of the Dark Lord, stepped into view from a corner he had kept himself hidden within. Once his signature was shrunk to nothing, a skill he had used for quite some time. Not even the living force was affected by him, giving no indication he was there.

And now, with a seething hatred, his signature filled the room with it's overwhelming darkness. Golden eyes focused on the heretic, and with a rather soft voice he would begin to speak.

"To insult the Dark Lord by comparing him to any other Sith is treason in on it's self. To believe yourself better than your brothers and sisters is an insult on it's self. To think a new code, one you make up, is better than the one that has been the core of the Sith for thousands of years, is stupidity. I have heard hundreds of variations of the code as Sith try to delude themselves into thinking themselves greater, but I've learned one thing:

Sith such as yourself only end up as cannon fodder." A visible hand would go to continue the choke, if it wasn't resisted, the overwhelming strength of this Sith Lord focused on the one single task. Choke the one who speaks too much.

"We of the One Sith have a single belief. We are all equal, knights and lords, under the one Dark Lord. Our say is as great as another, our actions no less important than another. We are united for one single goal. To control the galaxy.

Peace is stagnation. Peace is to rot. Passion, passion is evolution. Passion is to make yourself better. Stronger. It is with this strength that we grow. That we become more powerful. With power however, comes the ability for us to win. To crush those who oppose us underfoot and achieve victory. With victory, we liberate ourselves from doubt, from stagnation. We break our chains. And it is because of our connection to the Force that we are set free."

Golden eyes now glanced across the room, to each of the Sith still in the room. There was no hint of joy, no smirk or smile, just a passive gaze.

"Peace is a lie, there is only Passion.
Through Passion, we gain Strength.
Through Strength, we gain Power.
Through Power, we gain Victory.
Through Victory, our chains are broken.
The Force shall set us free.
We of the Sith only need these words. Do not dis-allude yourself into thinking another code, be it one you make up or another, is better. Your fate will only be the same as the rest."
If the choke was still there, Nulgath would be released from it, and ignored by the Hand. The Sith Lord would then go back to his corner, offering a single nod to [member="Lord Sabastian"] , a frown played on his lips.

"Continue your lesson."

[member="Shuduc Macar"] [member="T'zanith Zebron"] [member="Vengeance"] [member="Animus Malgus"] [member="Asajj"]

Nulgath stood still surprised at [member="Darth Ferus"]'s presence but what came next only made the epicanthix chuckle some. Though standing still standing sitll acting if he was forced to listen to the words of yet another ignorant sith, Nulgath was in fact fine as he scratched his throat some. The armor robes he wore were very very specially made. Terantatek Hide was a rarity now a days, but the assistance it provided was superior. Along with the Phirk plating made the Robes all around set for any attack till Nulgath deemed his himself ready to wear no armor one day.

It seemed none liked to debate the old sith code of Darth Ruin. Nulgath found the code very interesting and had been studying it for years as a Acoylte. The Sith in the room were the reason why no respect was given, In truth they all were bound to one cause or most of them, where as Nulgath was unpredictable. Speaking the creed of Darth Ruin and acting cocky didn't make him a traitor. It made him hated.

Waiting till [member="Darth Ferus"] was done speaking, Nulgath grinned and took his leave unaffected by whatever he only slightly felt itching at his throat. Nulgath would not retaliate back but mere give the Lord of the Sith the illusion of his power before the Epicanthix left the room.

All was going as planned.

[ OOC: I now left. Excellent Thread guys]

Lord Sabastian listened to Vengence speak and was about to chime in until Acolyte Shuduc put in her words, "Agreed, competition is good, this is why some Master's take on two apprentices. I personally put my own apprentice into situations where if he failed it would not be a slap on the wrist or a little lightning, but death itself. To be in competition against Death is to become stronger than Death, or that is the theory."

He opened his mouth again to speak, but was silenced by one of his former teachers from his youth, Darth Ferus. He had known him a long time, even sweared to kill him one day, though that no longer held value. He greatly admired and respected the man's beliefs and abilities, but sometimes he could be too dramatic and too much flair, maybe that was where Sabastian learned it. He watch the scene unfold and did not speak or act to stop it, he merely wished it was his own hand across the Knight's throat.

As soon as they parted, Sabastian connected to Ferus in the Force to speak to him and only him, "Do you sense it? Something is off in him, a division or rebellious nature about him, could prove troublesome if left uncheck. Might be wise to delute the possible poison now and have one or your assassins keep a close eye on him." He left the connection open for reply of course and then smirked as only merely a few seconds had passed and so he should verbally address the situation, "I admire your passion, my Lord, but if you interrupt my lesson again with such force I will slit your throat." He spoke these words calmly and with a sort of false malicious in them, ending the words with a wink. His threat was hollow, but like their discussion, there was competition between them, but if they were forced to fight to the death, Sabastian knew he would not walk away.

Lord Sabastian returned to his lessons, "Good thoughts, Animus, to answer your question, I do not believe in the Rule of Two. It is a foolish rule to think only two Sith can exist and is an over compensation for a problem in the Sith. Since we have now heard a false and foolish code and then our code, let's discuss it, dive deeper into it. Peace is a lie, there is only passion, what does this mean to you?"

[member="Asajj"] [member="T'zanith Zebron"] [member="Vengeance"] [member="Nulgath Zardai"] [member="Animus Malgus"] [member="Shuduc Macar"][member="Darth Ferus"]

"It means that conflict is a certainty, Struggle is inevitable and that the illusion of Peace and Tranquility is nothing more than just that. That Passion and one's self will and determination is the Only path to gain the strength necessary to achieve your Goals. "
Animus said with booming confidence. he knew the code, he had prepared for questions of the Code of the Sith for a long time, reciting his responses and memorizing them. He could recite the code backwards if he wanted to, but what gave it true meaning is just what this class was about... the Philosophy, malleable debatable substance much like politics.
