It's not hating it. We love creativity. But what is the point if you don't even do anything with it?
In the most blunt, but tactful way I can put it, you flutter from idea to idea with an oo shiny mentality that does no one any favors if you are not doing anything WITH your creations. (And i recognize oo shiny, i do it all the time. ) As a person who has 127 alts ( yes 127) I can tell you that yes, each and every character is unique and yes, their background stories are epic.... but you know what makes them REALLY stand out?
Doing something with them. Tossing them out there in threads to see what sort of character development happens. The point of post by post roleplaying in this type of medium is that it is cooperative writing; that being, you are working alongside other writers who will collaborate in a story with you -- but that doesn't get to be put in effect unless you actually take the time and the pro activeness to roleplay.
I may have dozens, upon dozens of characters, but at the very least, I have roleplayed each and everyone of them to truly see their potential. I interact. I don't just let them collect dust. Whether they be merely established NPCs that have turned into PC's, characters merely for story development in minor roles with other writers, or my mains, they all will find some measure of struggle, joy, sorrow, hope, fear, drive, and purpose roleplaying....
Not simply collecting dust while being cast aside for another creative idea.
Do something with your creations; apply them. Mingle. Interact. It is a roleplaying community for a reason. You want to create a Sithpureblood... fine, do so, we embrace the creative process and the excitement of making a new character. But make it a worthwhile story, interact with others in threads, really put your time and commitment to this one, and only one character.
Because otherwise.... what is the point in creating them if you don't roleplay them?
