Slavery on the Scintilla and Within the Agents of Chaos
The matter of slavery appears to be a sensitive subject around the galaxy. While many condemn slavery, some of the powerhouses in it actively promote it and create more slaves (for example, the Sith Empire) and yet for these, other forces in the Galaxy seem to be perfectly fine with, the issue rare to never rising as a problem, including but not limiting to create various forms of agreements and alliances with these governments and organizations.
Yet it is time to put some issues to rest. The Agents of Chaos do not operate on the same stand regarding slavery that the Sith Empire or others that we know of do.
The residents of the Scintilla can be split into four main categories:
- The Civilians of the Scintilla - These are, save for the baby population, all people who have chosen to move to the Scintilla, whatever their reasons may be. They either have been or soon will be part of the regular population, and a small portion of them belong to the Agents of Chaos. The civilians of the Scintilla are free to come and go as they please. The majority of people that can be found on the Scintilla belong to this category.
- The Refugees of the Scintilla - The Scintilla has set aside enormous funds to construct H.O.P.E - a place for the refugees from around the galaxy. The refugees, while expected to work, are not expected to pay a dime for services receives, and are free to come and go as they please.
- Indentured Servants - The Scintilla has 300 indentured servants, most of them living and working on Eve. These are people who have signed themselves up for a pre-defined number of years (25 years - a single generation). While most of these work menial jobs, the vast majority of them are happy as well to serve a place that ensured their homes and families would be safe, and consider themselves lucky and proud of their jobs. While they enjoy a smaller amount of freedom in their day to day lives and can't quit their jobs unless someone from their planet agrees to replace them, they are still, at large, content.
- Slaves - There are slaves on the Scintilla. A cultural melting pot for people and species all around the world, Discordia, the woman behind the Agents of Chaos and initial seedof the Scintilla, has decreed that those who already have slaves, gained on other planets in which it was part of the culture, may bring their slaves with them if they move to the Scintilla. However, the slaves are to be treated well, be given all their needs and necessities, any offspring they might bear will not be slaves, and they enjoy near extreme protection rights when their rights are broken. It is not a perfect system, but it is the best system that Discordia has found to further her goals.
- Agents of Chaos do not buy, sell, or create slaves.
- Slaves cannot be used as currency on the Scintilla or by any Agent of Chaos.
- We assure you, your standard galactic credits will work just fine when you come visit.
For several months, rumors have been trying to spread, about the support Agents of Chaos lend to slavers and slavery. At first, the Agents of Chaos laughed it off, believing someone must really be bored out of their minds to create such false claims, yet with time, they realized this would have to be addressed before it became the belief of the entire 'verse.
Princess Cicatarra Lamta-Hammock, a woman who had moved to the Scintilla during its early days after her home had been destroyed by the Empire of Rannon (Agents of Chaos' NPC nemesis, submission planned for the future) and had in the meantime signed up as one of the Speakers of Agents of Chaos, a woman whose sole purpose is to deal with PR, gathered a team to write it.
Within days, it was ready, and publication went mad, making sure to send the information down to every possible funnel they could.
All that remained now was to wait and see what the next step in the propaganda war would be.
