And maybe it was because she'd fought on the other side of the war for so long. When she'd been a lot younger and a lot more foolhardy.
She was a lot different now than she was then. Things were more nuanced. For kriff's sake, she'd just been at a ball full of sith with her ex, Judah Dashiell . And so far, Draven had been nothing but a gentleman. A kindly stranger on the beach.
"Then I'd say you have pretty powerful connections, Mister Draven." A small, smile in his direction. "I'd like to be an optimist and believe you. I suppose only time will prove one of us right and the other wrong." Raising her borrowed glass, she offered a cheers to him before swallowing down the last sip.
"It was nice...running into you." Standing, she took a step closer and offered him back the wine glass. "Thanks for sharing your drink and conversation." Her other hand would brush off the sand that had gathered along her clothing and legs.
