LFG Slow Burn Redemption Arc Ideas

Plot ideas to hash out;

1) thought about an interesting concept where a jedi was captured by the Dark Empire, and after a session of torture or two by the Sith they implanted false information into said jedi’s mind. But to essentially cover their actions, Rath was tasked to secretly break the jedi out of prison and help him/her escape without revealing the truth behind it. Yes it’s taking a quest thing from the Old Republic game, but figured it could be a reenactment or maybe even write how it’d gone differently for the character. The captive doesn’t have to be a jedi per say as it could be anyone really.

2) during one of Rath’s trips to Tython, he had unknowingly at the time got latched by a force ghost who serves as something of a moral compass, and consequently seems to be teaming up with Rath’s former beloved who also tries to convince him to abandon the dark arts. I’m thinking that the force ghost could be someone’s distant relative and essentially requests Rath to recover the ghost’s desecrated bones and return them to the current living descendant for a proper burial. He’d reluctantly agree with this, and it wouldn’t be a fight or anything involved unless you wanted it to be.

3) Rath gets tasked as the Dark Elite to infiltrate and capture a noble of [insert opposing faction name] or even a neutral noble. The reason behind it could be simply that the noble had been openly opposing the Dark Empire and had gained substantial ground amongst the masses, which could prompt the Elite to shatter that trust by capturing the source of their hope. Naturally, aside from the noble themselves and their own armaments, this could be opposed by Jedi or whoever happens to be in the area to prevent the capture.

Lastly, though this is just my personal thing, eventually Rath intends to construct a lightsaber using the crystal that used to be his former lover’s, but as it is Light aligned i’m thinking that Rath might have to do so in secret or else he’d draw the attention from the others in the Dark Empire. This could be that people (Sith) suspect that Rath might be turning against the Empire, and maybe plot to remove Rath from the picture so to speak. It wouldn’t be the first time that a Sith has tried to claim his life or banish him, but it most certainly wouldn’t be the last time either. Could end up as a duel, but it’d definitely be a pivotal point for his growth as a character.

If any of these interests you, let me know or if you have questions I'm always happy to hash things out. Ultimately I am wanting to give Rath a proper redemption arc that'd be a slow, gradual process as he's already had a failed redemption arc in the past.

Normally I keep this character retired since his Character Arcs have essentially all but have finished up. However, reading on how the crystal is a former lovers, he to has had that experience in the past and has been through hell in terms of lost love. The man has been known for building lightsabers for a very long time, could run into the very small workshop of his on Tatooine.

Now for the first idea, Jegy could still be very well in prison, he was near deaths door at the time and was considered a wrap up. Could change that to where destiny had other ideas, considering he is an ancient Inquisitor of the past. I would leave that up to you, considering he has reservations of the Jedi but at the same time, is someone of the Light Side more or less.

Just spit balling ideas but it be rather fun regardless to see where the story ends up.

Well in technicality Rath never considers himself a Sith as he does not abide to their code or rules. He's always served the Overlord of the Eternal Empire, and now the Emperor of the Dark Empire. Still a dark sider though; but this can still work for the first plot Idea. As it'd give Jegy a second chance so to speak, but what Jegy does with that would be up to him in the end as Rath would simply make it happen.

No lie I want in on this so bad but I don’t think I have the right character to do it.

Hope it works these all sound so cool!
These were just ideas I was spinning. If you wanna delve into other plots I'm all ears for it.

Love it. I’m open to pretty much anything as long as it helps tell YOUR story

Well the gist of this upcoming arc is that I'm wanting to give this character a genuine redemption arc. I mean heck, he was a soldier, a force user, a mercenary, one of the Dark Elites, and now he's at that point where he seriously has to make a decision that would alter his path altogether. But in order for him to take the right steps, he honestly needs to take opportunities to basically be the Light Sith. Whether that means he's just being unexpectedly kind to others when normally he probably shouldn't be from what people assumed.

Or heck he could technically be tasked in either killing or corrupt a strong Padawan, but as Rath wanted to do neither he would simply paint the illusion that they're corrupted when in reality he's just protecting from the other Sith until they can be returned to the other Jedi. Some might see it as being unexpectedly merciful, but it's also him being wary around the Sith and makes sure not to give them too much power if he can help it.

Kale I have played for years as an activist of being someone who will give anyone a chance to turn to the light if he can get them to do so. I have done it on multiple occasions whenever he interacts with Sith or Jedi who have fallen. So having him here is not difficult.

However, I want to make sure the story is good and not feeling forced too hard. A set up is good, but I want to know your thoughts on how well of a written story you want. Since you said Slowburn, I am assuming you want this done over many threads. So if you would like, I would be willing to do the first option you proposed, but with slight changes to it. Unless we can come up with a different course of action for our interactions.

You'd be correct about not wanting it to be done in a thread. Technically ever since he drifted away from the Eternal Empire his past actions have hinted at being merciful when he can be, yet fierce when he needs to be. Between the Sith Order integrating further into the ranks of the Dark Empire, and of recent events (promptly after the Tython invasion by the Foundation). Rath would begin to take a more active approach towards being pragmatic to others. Both to make amends for the countless lives that had been claimed by his own hands, and to basically make use of the second chance of life he was given.

For context, Rath is a Force Thief, draining the force and using said force power to achieve the desired results. Well after he had slain his former master who rebelled against the Eternal Empire after discovering the Darkstaff. Rath had basically absorbed too much force power for his body to handle, essentially becoming a walking bomb in the Force. He managed to bypass this ending for some time and eventually created the Storm Breaker specifically to allow him to drain the excessive force power from overloading. Eventually this only delayed the inevitable as Rath nearly succumbed to his fate when his beloved, a jedi master ironically, had basically forced Rath to undergo a ritual that basically enhanced his body with the Force so that he could continue on living. Unfortunately this came at the cost of her life, and for a long while for the first time he felt lost despite the power he now wielded.

It's through the actions, albeit slight and subtle at first, that eventually Rath starts to break away overtime from the dark chains that binds him to this fate.

I'm down with it, what changes did you have in mind with it?
