Slugthrower popularity...why?

[member="Ice"]

Because you can see a blaster bolt coming at you, and in my experiance forcies typically RP like gods if you use them (unless it's a LMG) That's my experiance anyway, I'm in no way generalizing everyone on the board.

The variety in ammo is also nice.

[member="Raziel"] If I knew they'd largely be ignored/ineffective by the people I'm shooting at I most certainly would take the extra weight in my ruck. I'm not talking about if people didn't think they were all Obi Wans, but most do, so until I face one that doesn't Doc will continue to lug his ammunition.

What irritates me the most is the light siders always being targeted. Anyways, I won't have to deal with this soon enough :p learning all the stealth force powers(force sense, force cloak, ect.) So have fun gunmen

The original Nightstinger was better.

And my version can get through Spaceport security
[member="Spectre"] ....well i suppose everyone is entitled to their opinion. lol i would like to know how though? My rifle shoots farther, has more ammo, and also has a secondary weapon. Though i'll grant you, it can't shoot a redirection crystal. haha It also doesn't break after 5 shots. :p And the round is a particle beam round. so it has the explosion after it impacts as well for secondary damage.

As for the topic itself, the question was why it is of benefit outside of force users? ;)

[member="CC-420 Doc"] - Your character won't have to worry about his blaster shots being seen soon enough. Since he is joining our SE special task force. He'll be getting one of STI's SS-7 rifles that fires the invisible bolts. :D

The most important step is always the next one
The only slug throwers I would say would be useable would be any variation of the Verpine shatter gun or energy propelled slugthrowers.

I think even on the wiki says that modern armor can protect users from slugthrowers. Its just that

A. Jedi don't typically wear armor
B. The use of blasters that make most armor useless means why spend money on armor which means a killing spree for slugthrowers

But most of my characters wear Beskar'gam...so I don't have to worry about either more often than no :D
