Felicity Mason
Princess of Winds
Mom always said she needed more girl friends. As it was, Felicity was really only popular with the boys at the Academy... and that was really only a few boys. The rest were afraid of her.
Who needs friends? she would often say, They only bother me and ask for favors.
That was the problem with trying to make friends at a prestigious school like The Royal Naboo Academy. All from influential families. All trying to use each other. All trying to scrape to the top, using wealth, fame, family influence... anything was fair game. And the daughter of the Queen? Well, for the next few years, that meant that Felicity was the Queen bee herself. She was a prize. Friendship with her could mean everything.
It was why she hated almost everybody she interacted with there. It was why she never invited any of the girls over for tea. It was why she didn't have a boyfriend... well, if she was being honest, that and because she had a reputation of being a bit mean. It was a bit hard to build up a first romance when the boys were afraid of her.
It was a phase, her teachers insisted, all girls her age were like that. She was just shy, unsure of how best to express herself. She'd grow up and grow out of it.
...Felicity really hated that teacher, especially when she was right.
So. Now here she was, sitting at a tea table in the palace court yard, waiting. Her Mother had put this together for her. A last effort to socialize her daughter. She'd brought in Jedi Padawans, hoping for some sort of moral influence. She'd invited young soldiers, thinking that they might at least have a thick enough skin to handle her daughters sharp tongue. She'd invited... well, anybody near her daughters age that she could.
The little 'Princess of Winds' folded her pretty white gloved hands together on her lap. Her floral headdress had been made specifically for this tea party from some of the gardens own flowers. In her pink silk tea dress she looked the very image of a sweet, sophisticated young Lady.
...If they only knew what lay behind that freckled smile and those pretty blue eyes.
