In the midst of her trek and on the outskirts of the village, Joza suddenly lifted her head and looked curiously into the distance. After a few moments, she chuckled and rolled her shoulders, setting back towards the little settlement cut into the jungle. Yes, she was sure that she could trust @Ryn’Dhal. Something told her that the gentle Felacatian Master would make an excellent babysitter. Perhaps she should have left poor Ryn with a rebreather as well.
Joza had been conversing with a local woman when Nicolas made his appearance. Turning to face the newcomer, green eyes appraised him boldly before she smiled behind the filtration mask fitted to the lower section of her face. “Good to meet you, Nicolas. I’m Joza Perl. Feel free to call me Joza.” Taking the man’s hand, she shook it firmly before motioning towards the elderly woman she’d been conversing with. “Let’s get you up to speed, Nicolas. This is Udra, and her grandson is missing.” She figured that the assisting Jed knew the basics of why they were here, but the Zeltron had uncovered a bit more information since she’d arrived.
“Y-yes. Yes. A few weeks ago, my grandson Hajj started acting strangely. He’d started going off into the jungle at odd times. I even caught him trying to leave in the dead of night! Do you know how dangerous the jungle is beyond this village after dark?” The old woman shifted, anxious about the friendly strangers but launched into her explanation nonetheless. Desperation was clear in her tone. “And then, I started noticing that things were missing. Little things like food and trinkets, even dishes. Dishes! What would that boy be doing out in the jungle with a set of dishes!” Shaking her head, Udra’s voice lowered. “Last week, he disappeared along with the necklace my mother had given me on my wedding day. I haven’t seen him for four days, d..do you think something could have happened to him?” Her voice lowered to a whisper as she reached to grasp at the necklace that wasn’t there anymore. Her face fell.
“Please, Silver Jedi.” She looked a bit awkward in addressing them as such, as if she were unsure if it happened to be the proper term. “Please, bring my Hajj back to me. He’s not the only one who had gone missing. My sister-in-law at Lomi Village said that a young woman wandered off into the jungle and no one has heard from her since.”
Turning towards Nicolas, Joza tilted her chin upwards slightly. “And there you have it. We should probably head into the jungle to investigate as soon as we can. Thoughts?”
