Silas tensed his face slightly from the comment of him not being immune. She was right, he couldn't be safe all the time even with the power. Valery herself probably wasn't safe either, but his claims of never letting it into his mind again were more of a promise to himself. It was impossible to always keep it at bay, however from the number of times his mind had been barraged already he had the experience to at least be more prepared for it now.

"I understand master... I'm sorry for seeming overconfident" the padawan apologised sincerely as he felt her test come to an end. Silas opened his eyes and looked at his master, giving her a sheepish smile to try and lighten up the mood from before "I've already had Sith use my mind to their advantage master, it isn't comfortable by any means. I was just promising myself that I will do everything within my power to shut them out. Unfortunately, no one is invincible..."

That comment alone made him think of Kahlil. Silas always thought him to be a force who would never be hurt or be defeated, yet as expected the mighty had to fall at some point.

"Thank you for preparing me for the battles ahead Master. I was resistant at the start, but I do truly appreciate what your doing for me" he smile shyly again "Do you think we'll find anything left down there?"

"I know, I just really had to make sure," Valery said with a more reassuring smile that shifted the tone of the conversation from extremely serious to something lighter. She understood he wasn't actually so arrogant that he'd believe he is immune in all situations, but it was still important to be careful with overconfidence as well.

"And no need to thank me, I will always do what I can to prepare you, Silas." Not just because it was her task as his Master, but because she cared about him as well. Padawans were almost like her own kids to her, so even in the future, when he no longer needed her training, she'd still always be there to help.

"I'm also quite sure we'll find something but it's hard to say if it'll be very useful. But we'll never know for sure until we go there, so if you're ready, let's get going. During our journey there, try to maintain this Thought Shield — should be a good exercise." She finally stood up, straightened out her outfit, and looked at Silas.

"Ready?"

Silas nodded reassuringly from Valery's response and sheepishly smiled at his master's continued selflessness. She always did whatever she could to help him, and most times she never asked anything back in return other than continued hard work in training. That alone was enough to repay her back.

The fact she wanted to go now also showed how much she cared, if there was something that needed to be sorted it was going to be resolved as quickly and effectively as possible
"Yea, you're right master. We can't really determine things until we set foot on the surface itself" he said in agreement as he got up and made sure he wasn't too scruffy in the presence of his master "I'm ready to go Master, but there's also something else I need to ask you..." Silas said with a raise of his hand to try and stop her for a few moments

"Sometime before Kahlil died, he gave me a unique crystal to look after," the teen said with a look of caution in his eyes, not wanting to push things too far from what he already had "I'm certain you remember it quite well because you kept it on your ship for some time until he gave it me. I don't know why he gave me such a task, but I believe he said the crystal was shrouded in the darkside too." he continued, a hand going up to scratch the back of his head.

"I believe one day he hoped I could cure it from its curse and use it myself. Right now, it still calls to me..."

Much like Silas, Valery got up to her feet after the long conversation and lesson. She stretched her legs, rolled her shoulders, and readied herself to get going for their trip to Dathomir. It was quite a long journey, and into Empire space as well, so they had to be careful and alert. Every mistake could be costly, and that was only the way there. On the surface of the planet itself, entirely new challenges would await them, especially Silas.

But before they departed, Silas brought up something else that was on his mind. Valery turned to him with a slight look of surprise and nodded, "I know what you're talking about, and that's quite an interesting request. It's something we can try to figure out later, though. It's not something as straightforward as our current plans," she said with a soft smile.

"Keep the crystal stored safely where you won't lose it, and for now, let's focus on Dathomir. We'll handle one thing at a time, and I think this takes priority."

Silas nodded in response and released a light smile. Kahlil had given him a task to look after it, even after death he still found a way to keep Silas on his feet. Silas was unsure of how he was going to eventually make the crystal one of his own, but that was something that would reveal itself in due time. Right now, he had to focus on revealing the secrets his necklace had to offer. Whatever was ahead, they needed to be cautious. Who knew what darkness awaited them on dathomir.

"Yes master, We've just to do each thing one stage at a time..." he replied with a shy smile. They couldn't let themselves get overwhelmed, especially when they already had such a large task ahead "I'll leave it where it is Master, once we have returned I'll start thinking of a plan of action for the crystal, with your guidance of course" Doing it without Valery was foolish, he needed a reassuring figure to get him through this.

"But yes, for now we must focus on this alone. The crystal can wait for now" he said with a reassuring nod as they both began walking to the exit "I'm confident we will find the result we need master, we just need to trust in the force" with their hopes high, they both walked out together towards a better future.

After all, the hope for a better life was the very thing that kept them going.
