So Now What?

[member="Judah Lesan"]

You are insatiable, Mr. Lesan, Katara thought loudly with great amusement, then turned her attention back to the waiter who had just shared with them the story of the wine.

"So this vineyard estate still has viable grapes, you say…. I for one would like to see this place. Who knows, it might be the perfect opportunity for us."

"I will never be able to get enough of you Mrs. Lesan... Several lifetimes wouldn't even be enough..." he projected back.

Katara wasn't able to project her thoughts to his mind, but the bond they had formed as husband and wife allowed Judah to hear her thoughts. Judah had taught Katara how to keep her mind open to him, and closed to other force users. Her work as an independent security consultant had trained her well, Judah just added the final touches. Katara quickly learned the benefits to keeping her mind open to him especially when they made love. While Katara had not been able to project her feeling onto Judah, Judah could do so to her, and from what he understood it made the experience that much more.

"Leave the address with us when you bring the bill would you, good sir. We have some credits to spend, and this wine is worth a potential rescue purchase. Perhaps you won't be losing your supplier after all. No promises though."

Judah looked back to his wife as the waiter went to put their orders in. If the food was as good as the wine, he was in trouble. This wasn't a trip to gain weight, but rather to celebrate his wife. He smirked looking to her.

"So shall we head to the Vineyard straight from dinner?"

After the waiter left them alone the toe of Red's stiletto found the inside portion of her husband's panted leg, then brushed up the side of the lower portion to the knee rather sensually.

"Why don't we plan to see it tomorrow when we are fresh and in the daylight… Tonight I just want to concentrate on us, and our celebration."

And with that the rest of the evening was indeed all about them as Judah and Katara renewed their love for each other over and over again. The next morning the Lesans enjoyed a leisurely breakfast on the balcony of their villa room that overlooked the lake with a great view of the snow-capped mountains on the other side.

"So were you able to get ahold of the realtor?" the spirited redhead asked before reaching over and stealing a piece of bacon from her Jediboy's plate. "I'm very intrigued to go see this vineyard," she smiled, then popped the morsel into her mouth.

What was it about getting away and having a change of scenery that seemed to renew a couple. Judah and Katara did not really need the second honeymoon as they treated everyday as a honeymoon, but yet they had. With their lives having been turned upside down, both JJ and Sasha on their own, the couple was learning what life as just the two of them was all over again. Just the fact the two could make love well into the night, and take their time with each other in the morning was a concept they had not enjoyed in quite some time, until last night.

Judah shot Katara a playful look as she stole a piece of bacon from his place, but he said nothing. Truth was he liked it that she felt so comfortable that not even the food on his plate was something she felt he kept from her. He smiled as the conversation turned toward the vineyard.

"When was I supposed to call the realtor," Judah teased, "Someone kept me really busy."

He laughed a bit before pulling out his comm and handing it over to Katara to see the message.

"We can see it in two hours, and the Realtor will meet us there. If you'd rather walk than take the speeder we would need to leave in the next fifteen minutes. It's such a beautiful morning that I am definitely leaning toward the walk. I honestly can't remember the last time we took a walk through the countryside."

It wasn't that Judah was getting old, okay he was getting older, but it really had been that long since Corellia. The fresh morning air was calling out to him, and begging to be enjoyed.

"You'd whine if I didn't keep you busy," the redhead teased back with a wink, then took the offered comm from her husband. She read the message, then handed Judah's personal communication device back to him.

Katara downed the last of the caf in her mug, then smiled. "Walk… We've both been cooped up for way too long on the Shadow. And it's more romantic that way," she said leaning over and placing a sweet kiss upon the Telosian Jedi's lips. "I'm going to change and be ready in ten." And with that said, the Corellisi sauntered off to the fresher.

---

Walking hand in hand down the country road, Katara, dressed casually for their adventure, was in seventh heaven. She had missed deeply walking the woods near their home, former home, up in the foothills of Coronet Peak on Corellia. Lake Country was a close second as far as natural beauty went. The Corellisi just might be able to get her head wrapped around this place enough to call it home.

"The vineyard is just up ahead… Gods it's huge!"

Judah was dressed a little not like himself. The Telosian opted to actually wear something other than his casual Jedi attire. Katara would be a bit surprised as Judah was rarely seen in anything else. He'd made a habit of dressing as his sect dressed, with some modifications. Gods it had been so long since walking with his wife hand in hand in the peace of the outdoors. Lake country wasn't Corellia, but it was better than the ship they'd been calling home. Judah really wanted the winery to work. If it did, they'd have a home, and he have something to do with his hands.

The property was indeed large, and Judah smiled at the site of it. They'd need to hire some help to maintain it all, one of the negative aspects of adult children. By the force was Judah really that old now. His son was an adult, the teenaged orphan the family had adopted as their own was as well. Good thing Katara kept him feeling young. The two certainly still made love like they were in their twenties. When they reached the tasting room where they were to meet the realtor, he was not there yet. It seemed they were early.

"I don't know, sweets, but I have real good feeling about this place. If the price is right, I think we could learn to love this place as home..."

As they walked closer to the main building ahead, Katara got a strange feeling, a good feeling wash over her. It was confirmed by what Judah said to her. They both thought that just maybe this could be their new home, way of life even though neither knew anything about wine making or running a vineyard. They could and would learn together.

"Mhm Let's see what the realtor has to say. I do like the thought of it though."

It was no secret that the Corellisi was still very much mourning the loss of her homeworld and all that was dear to her. They were only able to save a few personal items from their home high up in the foothills of Coronet Peak before having to evacuate the planet. At least their family was alive and well, though spread across the galaxy as it was during the transition.

The tasting room had a beautiful patio area outside that lead inside. Peering through the panes of the double doors one could see a vaulted ceiling room with a bar and off that area in the back was a barrel room and wine cellar from the looks of it. The living quarters were seemingly attached next door.

"Well I like what I see so far…" she smiled, snuggling up to her husband and stealing a kiss while they waited for the realtor to show.

The realtor finally arrived, thirty minutes later than the agreed upon time. Apparently there had been a last minute sale go through, and Judah pressed into the man's mind to ensure it wasn't the vineyard they were looking at. When he was satisfied they were still able to buy the property, Judah agreed to the tour.

Everything was perfect. The wine making process was straight forward, and it seemed the owners were just an older couple looking to retire, but had no children to pass the business too. Judah smiled. Their misfortune had become their fortune. The rest of the story was consistent, and the time for negotiations were at hand. Before Judah was going to hassle a good deal, one he knew he could get, he was going to consult with Kat.

"How much do you want to offer? The couple needs to retire, but we also need a bit to start up with. I want to be fair. I'd be willing to liquidate some of my investments if I need to."

Judah really wanted this for Katara. She needed a place other than the ship to call home, and this was the first time he'd seen her this happy since Corellia had been destroyed. He knew it wasn't the second honeymoon either. The two had a very active love life even when not in the mood. This was simply the first sign that Katara could accept another place as home.

"Oh gosh… I don't really know how much. I'll let you handle the haggling. You've always had a knack for figures. I'm the muscle remember," Kat teased, then went on though not as up beat. "I do still have some credits left from settling my dad's estate. I know if the old man was here with us today, he'd want to contribute so lets not liquidate any of your holdings just yet unless we have to, hmm."

Jack Starkos' unexpected passing due to a massive heart attack was yet another deep loss for the Corellisi. The only thing that helped was that the grizzled ex-CorSec agent had died before their beloved homeworld was destroyed. That in itself would had robbed the life from him. It nearly did her. Katara needed something to keep her going especially now that they were empty nesters as well. Perhaps this is exactly what the doctor ordered to boost her waning soul.

Judah reached to give Kat a quick hug. There was a lot to process. Her father had passed just before Corellia was destroyed. It had been more than five years, but to Judah and Kat it was very fresh. The loss of Corellia seemed to make them relive it all, all over again. He nodded and kissed Kat's forehead.

"Your dad would actually like the vineyard I think, so if you're sure you want to put the inheritance monies toward that, then we will. It at least gives me a rough figure to bargain with."

The next hour was spent going back and forth with the owners coming to a fair price for the property. The difficulty wasn't just the property, but they had to buy the license, the recipes, the payroll, the employees, all of it. Judah was pretty financially savvy though, and the deal which was struck was equitable for them both.

As the two lovers walked back to the resort, Judah had a smile on his face. He was giddy, which made him playful. The Jedi kept playing at his wife in various ways, before he took her hand, stopped them on the road, and just kissed her, not caring who saw. They weren't a couple too publicly affectionate, but right now Judah didn't care.

"We own a Vineyard!"
