I am cool with the Task Force 66 idea although I am hesitant to use the "Hunting FUs" intent behind the Task Force. Sounds a little to Mando Jedi Hunters ish to me.

I know there is an overall lack of rank and file troops in other factions but they do exist.

It can be tossed around further though.

As long as the character concept isn't something outrageous, I'll be happy to support that character and their involvement in the Republic.

I anticipate that hunting FU's would just be our specialty. IE, we would be exceptionally good at it. That doesn't mean we wouldn't undertake other tasks as well. I like the Black Ops route. In Black Ops you have to be able to deal with any possible situation that arises. Meaning we would be exceptionally well rounded, highly trained, and able to combat any situation (kinda like Spartans).

Not really, mostly because being a soldier limits what people can actually do IC without...certain consequences IC because well...They're a soldier.

Not many people want to play with those kind of restraints.

I have to say I disagree. While I don't play this character quite as much as some of my others, I can still enjoy a relaxed, random thread--even though I'm a pilot in the Republic's Starfighter Corps. Rank and file doesn't mean you're always stuck on the frontlines. You can always do training exercises, R&R, check out the babes/dudes, grab a beer, meet a Jedi, make some bad investments, be a hero (AKA stupid), get married, etc.

And always remember that every soldier should experience at least one bar thread in their lifetime.

I meant more like using military assets and all this super custom unique awesome blaster pistol armor, and taking your NPC wing of Republic fighters to help faction A fight faction B etc.

Shore leave is and what you do with your credits and when you're on shore leave is an entirely different matter

EDIT: Wow that last sentence is not even a real sentence I'll leave it just for how hilariously horrible it is, but I should not post things at 4AM

Sort of around, but mostly just as Veino, since I have seven days to pack up to leave for college and finish a 15 page paper. Not much brain space for writing between those two.

Thanks, so I read through everything once. Could someone just tell me what exactly we're thinking of doing?

I hear the thing about the task force. But I also know that a task force could consist of several squads, or just be a small group of soldiers such as the commandos.

I probably should have read more into detail on these things but if I could maybe get a quick rundown...Thanks?
