Seated within the cockpit of The Nomad, Balun Dashiell gazed out at the stars streaking past in a breathtaking blur, transformed into radiant lines of light by the ship's incredible speed. The darkness of space was all but consumed by these luminous trails, the freighter hurtling through hyperspace at velocities beyond comprehension. The sight, while familiar, never ceased to amaze him.

Beside him, curled in the co-pilot's seat, was Luna, his loyal and beloved Merqaal companion. She was deep in sleep, her small body rising and falling in a steady rhythm. Every so often, a chorus of soft grunts, chirps, and growls escaped her, sounds that always made Balun smile. Luna's contented snoring filled the otherwise silent cockpit, a soothing background to the blur of the stars.

The tranquility was broken by the soft chime of his datapad, signaling a new notification. Balun leaned forward, retrieving it from the dashboard, and with a few taps, opened his holomail. His eyes scanned over the advertisement that had just come through, and a grin spread across his face. The thought of Judah Dashiell and possibly even Makai Dashiell attending the event crossed his mind. While Dashiell Retrofit™ hadn't accumulated an extensive list of completed builds, the idea of showing up in support of the family business felt like a duty—one he couldn't overlook.
