"Cool," Rayne shrugged.

Spicy noodles was good by her. She'd gesture for Braze to follow into her walker so that she could get it started heading into town. It would be far faster than walking. The Rayne-Runner would, of course, begin to walk on it's own, setting off for the not-so-far-off capital of the planet. From there, Rayne would sit down on her bed and cross her legs, gesturing to Braze that he could sit on one of her various bean bag chairs.

"You run around on your own a lot," the Twi'lek observed. "The Jedi are cool with that?"

It seemed strange. The lifestyle certainly seemed restrictive from an outside perspective. It was bizarre, but curious nonetheless. She wanted to know more.

Braze cautiously followed her into the room, his senses taking in the atmosphere of her living space before he decided to sit down. "Hmm? Well, I think I manage just fine, most of the time," he offered with a cheerful note in his voice. "In terms of danger, I guess I do present more of a threat compared to others my age who aren't Jedi-trained. I mean, not many people my age have the same level of physical conditioning or combat experience that I do. I'd like to think I can hold my own against most threats."

"That's... good?" Rayne stated, but not confidently.

He was safe at the very least, but she was always just a little uneasy when it came to kids running into dangerous situations. But she got the idea that his combat skills far surpassed hers, given that she struggled to throw a punch. He was probably fine.

"I'm more curious than anything," she shrugged. "I only saw you with other Jedi once. They seem like an... interesting bunch."

Rayne would get up, making her way over to her mini-fridge. She'd open it up, drawing a red circular bottle from within.

"Pop?" the Twi'lek asked. "I have a few different kinds."

Braze eyed the red bottle with curiosity, tilting his head slightly. While he recognized the object, he couldn't recall ever having consumed what was inside it. His usual fare had been juices and teas, so this was a bit outside his wheelhouse. "It's carbonated, isn't it?" he inquired, extending a hand to accept the bottle. "I'd like to give it a try, please," he added cheerfully.

"Most Jedi I know are fairly nice individuals. There's a small handful of exceptions- and they chose to be not-so-great people as far as I could tell. Far and few between are those ilk though. " Braze nodded lightly at that. " What about you? Do you have any friends? Or family?"

"Yeah, it's carbonated," Rayne nodded. "Here ya go."

Rayne would hand Braze a soda then sit back down on her bed with her own, listening to what Braze had to say about the Jedi. It made sense, and he sorta described them as regular people. Then he shifted to herself...

" What about you? Do you have any friends? Or family?"

"Oh," the Twi'lek frowned. "I... don't really have any of those. Mom ditched me, pretty sure my dad is in a ditch somewhere. I've sort of just been on my own."

The woman would begin to look ever so slightly embarrassed. No, that was perhaps a little too negative, and she didn't really want to be putting all of that out there. Maybe she could backpedal a little. At least there was one thing that she did have, even if it was like three or so people.

"I do have friends though," she added. "I just... don't see them very often."

That still sounded awful. Maybe she was better off just leaving the question unanswered.

Braze would receive the soda, gently touching the can with his fingertips before taking it. "Thanks," he'd chirp, the soda making a little fizzing noise as he opened it. Taking a cautious sip, he'd relish the new experience, a thoughtful look crossing his face. "Interesting," he'd murmur before focusing back on Rayne as she spoke.

At her words, a solemn, understanding look would wash over Braze's features. "I'm sorry to hear that, Rayne," he'd say softly, sincerity ringing in his voice. "Family and friendships are complicated things. Sometimes we find ourselves far from the ones we'd wish to be close to, whether it's physical distance or something more intangible."

Braze would pause a moment, letting the weight of her words settle thinking them over a little more and what he could possibly say to comfort her... "Sometimes, people come into our lives at the oddest times, but for the most meaningful reasons. While you may not see your friends often, they're still a part of your life, a part of your story."

His jade green eyes would twinkle, even behind the blindfold, as he'd offer her a warm, reassuring smile. "And sometimes, friendships have a way of deepening when we least expect it. I've made a few good friends as of late and I'm pretty happy to have met each of them. Aliris Tremiru Aliris Tremiru still seems pretty shy but she's a real feisty one when push comes to shove... I don't think she's really had much of a chance to be anything else other than what other people wanted her to be... And Loomi Loomi is pretty sweet on the inside, but I think she's way too worried about what everyone thinks... and then there's Ko Vuto Ko Vuto . . . He's the best friend you could ever really ask for, and always has great advice. He just takes on too much or overestimates what he can handle a bit too much some times... Then I have Jasper Kai'el Jasper Kai'el , I don't know why he turned his eyes on me but I'm very thankful to have him in my life as my guiding light. They may not be much and I may not see them every day but my friends... they kinda are my family ya know?"

"That's great," Rayne nodded with a warm smile. "I'm glad you found some good people. Not everyone gets that."

She was only starting to get that now, well after her childhood was over. Maybe it was just how it was meant to be for her. Rayne didn't like fate, but it seemed natural for how her childhood was. It seemed pessimistic, but there was a beauty in it.

Maybe. She didn't really know.

"I'll be fine though," she insisted. "I'm figuring stuff out."

That was something the Twi'lek could say with certainty.

Braze sunk into the inviting embrace of the beanbag chair, attempting to adjust his posture but ultimately giving in to its comfort. "You know, I'm really thankful, but sometimes 'thank you' just doesn't seem like enough. Guess I'm nitpicking, huh?"

He looked up, a warm smile forming on his face as he changed the subject. "Do you have a thing for noodles? My favorites are the ones loaded with all sorts of goodies--chunks of meat, veggies, you name it. Makes every bite a little adventure"

"Unfortunately so," Rayne sighed. "I love noodles too much. They... aren't very good for me."

She was so out of shape. Instant noodles were probably the worst thing that she had added to her diet. She had stockpiles of the stuff. It really hurt how good they were, and how terribly easy they were to cook. Rayne was so soft partly because of how terribly she ate.

Not that she'd change that any time soon.

"I like when they have egg in it though," she noted.

Braze leaned back into the bean bag chair, soda can in hand, taking in Rayne's culinary preferences as the walker hummed along—and making him hungrier by the second.

"You mean like boiled or fried eggs? Or are you talking about those wispy ribbons that form when you drop an egg into a swirling soup?" Braze asked, taking a sip of his soda. "Because, you know, the egg situation can make or break a bowl of noodles for me. I love a good soft-boiled egg, where the yolk is just a little runny. It adds a whole new texture to the experience."

He set his soda down on a nearby cup holder and shifted to a more upright position, his interest clearly piqued. "And don't even get me started on those little egg ribbons. It's like they soak up all the flavor from the broth. But hey, to each their own. What's your ultimate noodle bowl look like?"
