Squad counts

Okay we've seen and had issues what do you guys purpose to fix. The forum is open.

The only thing I ask do attempt to make it as simple as possible. As if someone who has never created a starship before.

You mean Squadron Counts? For the hangers on ships?

I did a count once. Based on ship length. But the problem is that because between canon and on site here there's no consistency it's hard to judge how to go by with that.

To be truthful I always thought even a full squadron was a lot for corvettes. I mean an Imperial Star Destroyer at 1600 meters had 72 Fighters (6 Squadrons) and then 30-40 shuttles/transports. A Hammerhead Cruiser was 315 Meters, and it ran 12 Fighters and 2-6 shuttles/transports. Plus then you got ships like the Venator, which was more of a carrier than a attack cruiser, which carried around 200 fighters and then support craft.

I'm personally not sure what would be best. I figured this would happen and tried before to think of something but I don't know where I put that work.

The idea that popped into my head was to go by cubic m (length x width x height) and find an acceptable standard. Obviously this poses an issue for some canon ships that dont have information available, however. The less information, the less of the equation you use, i.e length x width or length x height etc.

The problem is that Guide 2.0 gave ships WAY WAY WAY too many starfighters. Tough thing to walk back. I'd suggest we just increase the current squadron counts a bit -- not all the way to 2.0 -- and let people deal with the fact that newer ships let them get away with more but don't have as many small craft.

That could work. [member="Ashin Varanin"]

I wish it had gone by cubic meter like me and Silara seem to agree on from the start. Would have been very clear and useful. We are sort of stuck with how things were done, even from before the 2.0 guide.

Agreed. Half is too little though.

Hangar: (Please provide the amount of fighters this submission can hold in it's hangar by count of Squadrons, which hold 12 average Starfighters. The higher your squadron count, the lower your Armament and number of Special Features should be. This submission's Max Squadron Count: 3. Optionally, feel free to provide a list of names for your squadrons, like the notorious Red Squadron. Alternatively, you may swap squadrons for Vehicles or other items of note, or even provide a standardized load-out.)

Isn't the implication of the above, that they can currently use both the new squadron counts, and the old hangar numbers? That's how it's been interpreted so far, and the root of my issue. They can pick either, and one is currently much more lenient.
