Star Wars: Aftermath

You still don't get the difference.... You are equating violence with tarentino gorefests. They're just not the same. You get that right? Like I am assuming you do but at every turn you prove me wrong here. Stop abusing my benefit of the doubt.

You're taking my original statement of saying turning comparing Wendig to Tarantino and twisting it. You're the one that said Star Wars isn't violent.

I've conclusively debunked your argument, and yet your persist in trying to save some face by moving the goal posts. You, madam, are a sore loser. Good day.

You take my statement too far. Violence exists, which Wendig portrayed in a way that was in line with Star Wars. Hence the chains. I was saying that in terms of violence he was consistent with the universe we see in the movies and Star Wars as a whole (which utilizing non-canon stuff for your argument as well is pointless). Star Wars has violence, yes, however it is not a gorefest or a Tarantino-style over the top manner. That is simply how it is.

I was stating that the chains that you lament about are not Disney but just how Star Wars is. Sorry that you failed to understand that.

Ever since I found out that Lords of the Sith is less Sith focused than I expected my interest has been increased. I'm not big on books where villains are the protagonists.

So I wanted to jump back into this.

Alright there are two different side stories that are alluded to that I really want more on. The first is a story that absolutely should get told at some point and that is the one where Han Solo goes to Kashyyyk to free Wookiees. He abandons a mission for the New Republic that he was given to do it. So that is pretty significant. Maybe that is one of the reasons why he and Leia are not together in TFA.

The other is less of a story but more of just an interesting over all plot development. A group goes to an underground dealer and opts to buy a lightsaber wondering if it is Vaders. The group, iirc, wants to have the lightsaber so that no one else can get ahold of it and use it. It seems to be implied that these are kind of shifty individuals but also seem to have an anti-Sith thing going on. I wonder if this will tie into the Knigths of Ren which Kylo is a part of.

Ya know... that was an interlude. I am not sure it is enough for me to buy the Boba is alive because I just cannot see him leaving his armor, and I doubt that the guy who was going to become the "law" or Tatooine is Boba.

I always thought this would be because what of happened with the kids. But that's probably spoiler bait at this point. I'll wait until the movie hits to decide on the Han v Leia thing.

We don't even know if they have kids, so why is that spoiler bait? People are speculating the crap out of Rey being one of their kids, but I just cannot see that as being likely as she is a junker on Jakku (which from what we know is basically a planet no one cares about). I get that she could have ran away (shoot, maybe Han arrives on Jakku just as crap is going down because he finally found her) but I just do not see that as likely.

Yeah. The hard facts just aren't there at this point. I went shopping the other day and couldn't find squat related to the Big Three. Just some First Order Troopers that looked pretty spiffy. Nothing that actually gives us a good understanding of whats going on or why.

My biggest mystery is the title itself. The Force Awakens. Ha. Was it sleeping or something? Does the downfall of Pallypatine really mean the Force is finally ready to get off it's lazy butt and do something again? ...Dun dun dun.

idk. *jazz hands* :p

The only thing about the Big Three that is relevant to the current timeline is the prologue and epilogues of the the YA books. I've yet to read them (though they were pretty cheep for Kindle so I picked them up... cause why not) but I have heard that Leia is evidently a general. Strange but it does seem that the comics have been trying to push her into being more that kind of leader than political.

The epilogue is evil! I want to know who it is! Arg!

That said, I liked the story. The writing style left something to be desired. Felt more like a kids book than the novels of old.

Speaking of kids books, time to read that young adult one that cMe out: Lost Stars.
