Star Wars: Jedi Academy

So I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks this or not, but to me Jedi Academy is hands down one of the best SW games in my opinion. Not because of the story, but because of just how fun it was to play when I was younger. I mean you could play with multiple people and the lightsaber combat was fun, and there were laughs and such.

Playing it again recently there are so many mods that have revived the life of this game from MovieBattles 2 to Evolution of Combat. Both make the game extremely fun and basically give the game play a much needed update. If you loved Jedi Academy I'd say now's a great time to start playing again.

Really fun game, but I prefer Outcast because of the story and because Kyle Katarn is a bad ass.

Jaden was just bland, and even the good voice actors are just so generic. I mean, hell, you got Jennifer Hale and then tell her to play Valley Girl?!

And Rosh...dear Gods, the most annoying character I've ever encountered in a game. It took a conscious effort not to go Dark Side and run him through with a lightsabre...an effort I failed several times!

I can agree with both of you that the story for Jedi Academy isn't really that good. I've always hated Rosh since the very beginning. And it made no sense how an ancient spirit like Marka Ragnos comes back and gets its ass kicked by Jaden!

I know! It is so much fun! You should try out MBII or EOC. They made some changes to the combat system that takes things to another level.

JKJA is my favourite. I spent HOUUURS on that game, in fact the weird bot-"pvp" stole up much of my younger life :p I used to roleplay in my head even back then... :')

Academy was fun but nothing beat two player vs all bots on bespin in outcast. The landing platform of doom where the bot swarm you and just keep force pushing them off or leap into the air, fire rocket launcher to push them back.

Both games though stole hours and hours of time for me as well and mods always help improve it.

Rosh: Oh there once was a Hero Ragnar the Red who came riding to Whiterun from ole' Rorikstead!

I absolutely love the Jedi Knight series. I grew up with them, and as a result Kyle Katarn is one of those Childhood Heroes of mine. Yep. I said it.

One of my first real big SW gaming experiences, after 'Shadows Of The Empire'. Great fun indeed.

Yeah I've played some in multiplayer back in the day when I was little. Was heaps of fun as I remember it anyway. Would be nice if an own server could be setup to play some of these old classics on multiplayer. Probably Tunngle can do it as that has heaps of old games that are playable. Usually all one has to do is download some small patch to get it working. I've already successfully done it with old classics such as Star Trek Armada 2 and its modernised add on called Fleet Operations, Star Wars Battlefront 2, (Still fun even if the new one is out which I play online too) and Far Cry (the first one. Those original MP maps are a classic).

Bunker-level Normal
I have fond memories of the Vjun facility, trying to beat up the first Darksider staff wielder I encountered.

Staffsaber Guy: You will die!
*me frantically button mashes some more*
Staffsaber Guy: You are weak!

Same here. I loved the Kyle Katarn - Jan Ors team. I would usually pick Jan on multiplayer sessions. The Jedi Knight - Dark Forces II stirs I loved it. It was the first real star wars footage after return of the Jedi since it came out in 1997. I still sometimes play all the footage to relive the moment. Mysteries of the Sith companion missions were great too. I loved bring Mara Jade. The two games after that. Outcast and Academy were super. Again I loved the Katarn - Ors team. Oh and I wanted to so much use Sith lightening to kill Rosh too. LOL
