State of the Union [Open to Invitation]

Drystan had stood with the small group, sipping her champagne and offering smiles to her friends, enjoying their companionship... but the brief respite soon completed as [member="Jyoti Nooran"] delivered her orders.

For the blonde woman, Jyoti's simple statement was all it took to give her purpose.

As the small gathering of Silver Jedi began to go their separate ways, Drystan would offer a charming wink toward [member="Jarael Belaerys"], the offered a raise of her glass to the rest of her friends. "May the Force be with us." She said, then turned on her heel. The Jedi Knight moved like quicksilver... stunning in her sapphire dress. She could fit in anywhere; in Court, or on a dusty frontier hole.

Approaching [member="Faith Organa"] and [member="Veiere Arenais"], Drystan waited until the opportune moment.. which was captured expertly. Radiant in her gown, she appeared more a princess than an Agent... but such was how business was done. It would have been quite easy to assume she'd simply been passing by as Veiere were explaining his will to fight for Commenor's liberation.

"I can assure you, Master Arenais, that there are many in this Galaxy who would gladly fight beside you."

Drystan offered both powerful leaders an elegant & charming smile, bowing her head in respect of their station as she stepped closer, holding her champagne glass in both hands in a gesture of meekness and humility. "Lady Organa, Lord Arenais, Drystan Marakos... Jedi Knight. I could not help but overhear your conversation... and may I say my heart is with the people of Commenor and all the Galaxy in this time of strife. It is a grace to be reminded that we are not alone, even in the darkest of times. May I join you?" She politely asked.

It appeared Vulps caught on to her ploy of being a person that could not use the Force. To her knowledge only two others in the room knew of her secret. Make that three people, the arrival of Cedric was another shock to her system. Luckily he hadn't noticed her and came in the company of others. Taking a quick, but still acceptable to sip from her drink, she turned away from the man. Not wanting to face one of her biggest mistakes, Ra hoped he had not noticed her.

Looking at Vulps with a nod and smile, she kept it simple. Glancing again at Cedric out of her corner of her eye, she finished that drink and turned her head around again when Josh came over with the girl from the mission. In her hurry to get away from Krest, she had left the two of them behind. Giving him another smile, she glanced at Krest again and back to Josh.

"I'll hold you to that tonight."

Around these people, she would be fine. No danger of her lashing out like she had before and she could keep a grip on herself. There was also the option of going outside. Leaving was not though, having arrived with Faith, she was her transportation of this world.

"Nice to see you again, Madalena. I hope things are going well for you."

It might not be stated as a question, but it was in her tone. When she spoke to her though, her attention shifted yet again.

Abigail still stood at [member="Alexandra Feanor"] 's side. She never expected it and would definitely never admit it, but she was glad she was wearing a dress instead of armour right now. Her preference was still the same, of course, but at least now most of the guests paid her no mind, which was good. That probably wouldn't have been the case if she had decided against the dress, she probably would have gotten some odd attention if she had. So, following Alex's advice on wearing the dress was a wise choice... she supposed.
Not that she was ever going to admit that, of course. No way.

Abigail gave [member="Coren Starchaser"] a kind smile as he told her to check out the shattered if she was ever in need of more combat training.

"I might do that", she replied. "While I suspected at first that Alex kept the training relatively easy to ease me into this life, now I'm starting to think I might even be better than her already. So I might need some proper training in time, yes", she joked. It was obvious she was joking, but Abigail shot Alex a quick wink and a sweet smile nonetheless.
She simply had to make a bit of fun around here with Alex. After all, she was both Alex's Padawan ánd her daughter! How could she not make fun of things? That was basically her purpose here right now.

While Abigail wasn't certain whether it was normal or not, she felt troubled about the fact someone from the First Order was here, and by the looks of those around her, she wasn't the only one feeling that way.

Another master approached, [member="Jyoti Nooran"] , one who knew Coren and Alex it seemed, but she hadn't paid Abigail any attention yet. Abby still gave her a small nod before she tried to connect with the Force. She wasn't going to do anything, well probably not anyway, but she was curious about this First Order... person. She had to know who it was.

Aithne had come wearing her uniform, not bothering with a dress and keeping her short hair pulled up, looking around the party and trying to figure out what would draw her attention the most. There were a few she knew of, due to her father's records on them and his working with them in the past. Between her own intelligence work, her father's records and past experiences, and Cosan's own work for her father, she knew quite a few of the faces she saw. The Grandmasters of the respective Jedi Orders, A Zorren man that was given his own file, a redhaired woman and Jedi that had been in a related folder as well.

She rubbed her chin and her eyes continued to travel until she found someone she had found interesting. The woman in question being [member="Abigail Meredydd"], who she had met on Balmorra and had done an extensive breifing on and profile on. She was curious about Abigail, not having figured out much about the woman but still drawn to interest considering how Balmorra had gone.

A bit brash though, from what Aithne had gathered.

Either way, Aithne had chosen who she wanted to chat with and moved through the people until she was passing behind the masters and the padawan in question. With a qiuck tap on Abigail's shoulder, and a smile, Aithne motioned with her head off to the side of the hall before continuing on her way over to where she would stand. Abigail could choose to accept or not, that did not bother Aithne too greatly, though she did hope slightly the woman would accept.

Tobias understood that [member="Krest"] had his reservations about the conversation being held in such a public way. However, that was the way he wanted it, he wanted it to be clear the the Republic was helping Commenor. Let everyone question what the Republic was getting out of the deal.

"Of course your majesty," He bowed his head, "I do not mean to offend with my offer, me and some of my military officials are going to Neimoidia to look over our Sector Fleets that are guarding our boarders, I would be happy if you and King [member="Veiere Arenais"] could join us to speak out the future of our nations servival within the Core Worlds and beyond."

He bowed again, and left to join the Chancellor and the group around him. [member="Dak"], [member="Dr. Aes'ona Terrani"] and [member="Cedric Grayson"] were all around him and it seemed that they were conversation about something. Tobias placed his glass on a servers empty tray and walked up to them all. "Greeting and Good Health all, who do we have here Chancellor."

Munnu turned to greet Tobias, "Ahh, Tobias I was just talking about you," He placed a hand out to introduce them all, "You know Master Grayson of the Jedi Order, he has brought Doctor Aes'ona Terrani and a self aware droid named Dak," Looking towards the group he placed a hand out to Tobias, "This is Vice Chancellor Tobias Dracks," Looking back to Tobias he crossed his arm, "Doctor Terrani hails from the First Order and wishes to speak to us about politics, do you think you have the time Tobias."

Tobias offered a light yet deep singular chuckle, "I am a politician Chancellor, I am always up to talk about Politics," He looked to the Doctor, "What is it we could help you with Doctor?"

Josh and [member="Scherezade deWinter"] would approach [member="Riamah"] and [member="Vulpesen"] and once Ra seemed alright with the idea of grabbing drinks, Josh would smile warmly and nod his head. "You seem troubled, Ra. Is everything alright?" Josh would inquire in turn. Though he was also curious as to how Ra and Madalena would get on. They seemed to have gotten on okay during the mission, but that was a mission, this was a different situation entirely.

Moving for a moment to pour the lot of them a new set of drinks, he would hand one to Ra, and one to Madalena before he would offer one to Vulpesen as well.

"To whatever in the world this whole ceremony is about" Josh joked. He'd forgotten for the most part but it would come back to him. He would take a drink then, and shoot them each a cheeky grin in turn. He wouldn't drink too much, a few at most. Just in case Jyoti needed him for anything.

Veiere had not been approached by anyone within the Silver Jedi Order since long before the Incident on Deneba, and even then, his experience's had been less than he would have liked. The last Friend and Ally within their ranks had been [member="Coci Heavenshield"], she of whom had aided him in a time of great inner-conflict and his wife's abduction at the hands of Darth Prazutis; So when he and [member="Faith Organa"] were greeted by [member="Drystan Marakos"], naturally he was relieved to say the least, that he could still find some friendly faces within the Jedi Order's of the Galaxy.

"You may" Veiere smiled and encouraged the young Jedi Knight to join them, "And thank you for your kind words, Master Marakos". It had also been some time since Veiere had acknowledged another Jedi so formally, not due to any sense of history but more the fact that he rarely met with them these days. Much of his time of late had been spent organizing the Resistance for Commenor's hopeful liberation. [member="Krest"] was about the closest thing to a Jedi that Veiere had for company nowadays and that was...Well, it was saying a lot!

"You're also, sadly, correct" Veiere glanced to Faith momentarily beside him out of consideration and mutual experience, "Commenor isn't alone in it's being consumed by War, and I'm relieved to know that there are still Jedi out there who are willing to put everything on the line to fight back against the chaos of it all. My people were always striving to offer help to those who had fallen on hard times, after the loss of the Free World's Coalition and the Galactic Alliance's fall, I think it's safe to assume that our borders were far more vulnerable without their strong representation for democracy in the Core Worlds...".

"Uh," began the doctor, feeling a wave of immediate regret mixed with guilt wash over her. She glanced over the Vice Chancellor's shoulder, quickly taking in the pronounced surprise on the faces of other attendees.

Of course Aes'ona had not been naive; she had expected such reactions. What she had not been fully prepared for, however, was the anxiety that the looks would bring on. She had a feeling, deep in the pit of her stomach, that other, more malicious attitudes towards here were being thinly veiled.

"O-on second thought, I'll dri--go get a drink," she continued. Sudden dryness in her throat made it difficult to talk, but somehow she managed to keep her voice steady until her very last word. "E-excuse me...uh, gentlemen." Hopefully, to onlookers, it would appear that the doctor had found something terribly interesting about the ballroom floor as she spoke to those in her direct presence--though even that would probably seem suspicious.

She began to walk away, towards the bar, until she remembered why that was a bad idea and veered towards the doors opening into the hallway.

Who was she kidding?

All of this was a bad idea.

Faith had gone unusually quiet sometimes the right words took forever to come out. War she hated war she smiled at [member="Drystan Marakos"] , "My apologies I got lost in my thoughts." She looked over to the Master Jedi that [member="Veiere Arenais"] spoke to, "Our borders are all in danger of being consumed by the spreading of the First Order and the Sith." In her mind it was only a matter of time before they made their way back in the core.

Rumor also had it that @zeradius mantis would not be seeking re-election. His strong voice on Coruscant or lack of may invite further criminal element into the core worlds. Faith couldn't help but feel sadness in thinking of Coruscant her brother had died there. She still hadn't accepted it in full. She hoped that it was all some horrid lie but then only the Silvers could tell her that. But now was not the time to discuss such sadness.

"As long as we continue to fight, Alderaan will stand Commenor. Just tell me where and when to send who I can to accomplish it." She knew in her heart she could lose whoever went. She could only hope for the best of it all. Faith would tell him in private how to send the message. Her Aunt's flower shop did wonders sending plants throughout the galaxy. If anyone ever figured out what was really going on well. It probably wouldn't be pretty

"Greetings Master Marakos, I don't think I've had the pleasure, I'm Faith Organa." She smiled and held out her hand in greeting.

There were a number of tells that Cedric picked up on as Tobias approached. He could feel the empyrean shifting around Aes'ona like a small hurricane, and the anxieties that wracked his companion were felt as viscerally by Cedric as they were the doctor, at least for a moment.

"It's good to see you Tobias," Cedric flashed the vice-chancellor a smile. Tobias was one of the more likable figures within the senate, and Cedric had grown to respect the alien for his capabilities. Now, however, was not the time for small talk. Not while Aes'ona was excusing herself to the bar anyway.

"Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, if you'll just give us a few moments," The Jedi Master gave the two a brief bow and hurried off to follow after [member="Dr. Aes'ona Terrani"]; he'd expected [member="Dak"] to follow.

"Hey," Cedric sped walk up to the doctor's side, "You alright? What's going on?" He asked in a quiet voice as they approached the bar.

[member="Tobias Dracks"]

Drystan smiled and took Queen [member="Faith Organa"]'s hand in her own, "Drystan Marakos, your Majesty.. It's a pleasure to meet you. I found your work on the Nondescrimination Act & the Optimism & Opportunity Act to be quite inspiring."

She stepped in closer to [member="Veiere Arenais"] & Faith's conversation, joining them both in the discussions of the day. She began speaking, responding to each of their comments, "I can assure you both, there are many who would stand against the tide.. though we stand a better chance of coming together if we bear in mind our common interests. Perhaps the Sith have only served to define the line between them & us more clearly... " She was speaking with one of her hands, gesturing as she illustrated her points with motion while still holding her glass of champagne. "By uniting under common banners, protecting one-another... The Silvers are hard at work to create a common front, behind-which we all might stand. Commenor may not be alone, yes, there are many more worlds which suffer... but perhaps Commenor can be the spark to something greater. A push toward security, toward peace in the Galaxy. We are, after all, rebels against tyranny... are we not?"

She smiled at both her companions, each powerful rulers of their respective worlds, showing her drive & desire to beat back the darkness. Her bright, perfect teeth sparkled in the light, and could have melted all the snows on Hoth.

A United Front.

This had been Veiere's dream once upon a time, at-least for the Jedi of the Galaxy. It was also the failure for which he had taken to heart, most in all his time up until the Siege of Commenor where only the Sith Empire and the loss of eight million lives could overcome his personal guilt and decade long ambition for a greater representation of Light against the Darkness. His smile was sincere and full of appreciation for [member="Drystan Marakos"]' words that she offered both he and [member="Faith Organa"], the revitalization of the Republic and the strength of the Silver Jedi Order was without a doubt, achieving far more in the fight against tyranny and oppression in the Galaxy than he himself had been able to amass thus far; fault of no one but his own.

"You humble me, Master Marakos" He replied with gratitude, "I'm sure my Queen would appreciate the sentiment". Veiere wished to believe that such things were possible, though his ambition had once led him astray and brought pain to the very people he cared for the most. He had learned not to commit to such large testimonies in such public and formal scenes as this; Politics forever marking his words with some unforseen consequence further down the line. "You will understand that as of the present situation, I cannot speak for my People, however can vouch for my own continued support of the Jedi in our Galaxy. As well as those Governments seeking to strengthen democracy and a stronghold of peace and justice that is sorely needed in these times".

Halfway into her first step towards the doors, she once again reevaluated. She didn't want to walk back through a sea of Republic citizens and supporters. She wanted a corner to herself to stay in until this nightmare was over. But she settled on walking toward the bar.

"You take my pulse and tell me," she snapped, altogether too agitated to be in-character.

When they arrived at the bar, Aes'ona squinted at the various bottles on display. Because she had not drunk since her first years of college, she had no idea what to order. She just knew that she wanted the temporary courage that she still remembered came along with slight intoxication. After a few seconds, she seemed to make a decision and waved over the bartender.

"A cider, please," she ordered with a momentary smile unbecoming of her internal turmoil. "Surprise me," she added as he looked about to say something--likely a list of their flavors.

He nodded and, smiling, replied, "Coming right up, ma'am."

She took a small step back from the counter and began fumbling to open her red clutch to pull out some loose credits. "I know, I know," she muttered, directed at Cedric though she was not looking at him, "don't say it. My liver can go to hell tonight." A scoff. "I'm already giving myself an ulcer."

The bartender returned and named his price. Aes'ona took out the appropriate amount and was about to hand it over before the man interrupted her:

"Woah, woah, woah. We don't take that here." If he had not been standing right in front of her, Aes'ona would have thought that another bartender had come over.

The doctor glanced down at the money in her hand. They were round instead of rectangular and had an engraving of the First Order's shield in the center.

"Why?" she began, looking back up as she closed her hand over the coins and retracted them, equal parts offended and confused. "They're the exact same curr--"

"We just don't," he informed, cutting her off again, his tone firm as if giving a warning. And maybe he was. "Make way for the customers."

The two leaders of the Republic just stood there as Dr. Aes'ona Terrani and Cedric Grayson stepped away. They were left with the sentient droid [member="Dak"], however, not use to holding words back in the presence of a droid Tobias looked to the Chancellor.

"Munnu, can I ask why your talking to one of them?" He started, a curious look on his face as the reptilian crossed his arms. "Not that long ago her party destroyed everything you knew, killed nearly all the men under your command, seeing you composed is," He paused, "Well you Humans act difference so I am just curious."

The Chancellor took a glass of champagne from a servers tray, looking at the bar were the Doctor walked off to. "I do not judge an individual for the choices and actions of the greater, otherwise I would see you as a Waring Savage that only cares for conflict," He smiled as he took a sip of his drink, "Remember that our jobs are to continue the peace for as long as we can with War and Conflict being the last options."

He noticed that the Bartender was giving the Doctor a problem and looked to another man next to the bar and gave a wave of two fingers. A signal that the man understood and nodded to confirm he understood that.

"Chancellor, you know peace with the Order can not last forever, and many still hold grudges against them," Tobias looked over his shoulder towards [member="Jyoti Nooran"] and [member="Coren Starchaser"], the back at the Chancellor, "Plus if the Jedi found out you have lenient opinions of the First Order we could loose their support for our move on the Core."

Munnu only had his eyes locked on the bar, "The Republic does not rely on a singular order Tobias, remember that, a Jedi can turn into a Sith just as fast as a Politician can turn corrupt, if we show intolerance for the citizens of the First Order then are we not just as bad as the nations we fight against," He lifted his drink to the backs of Doctor and the Master, "We have to remake the rules for another era of hate will not prevent the harm the galaxy has come to since the Plague washed through the galaxy."

Tobias only nodded and turned to see where he was looking and toasting, it seemed like he was right. If the Republic was to show hate towards a singular First Order citizen, then the propaganda machines of their enemy would give their citizens another reason to fear the Republic. And that was not the Republic they were selling to their people.

The Bartender working with [member="Dr. Aes'ona Terrani"] and [member="Cedric Grayson"] was interrupted when another member of the bar came up from behind him and shoved his elbow in the drink servers side. "Apologies ma'am, we accept all currency here," He forced the bartender to bow his head, "I must apologies for my employee as well, he is from Atrisia and has not learned his manners apparently, please forgive his blunder and have your drink on the house."

He placed the drink in front of her and bowed his head as well. Not accepting the money and shooing away the Server and took over the making of drinks for the rest of the night.

Dak looks between the two politicians as they discuss the doctor, seemingly forgetful of the droid's awareness. Now that he is aware of their importance he opts to simply listen, especially since his currently unremarkable presence gave him a slight advantage to overhear their more private opinions. As their attention shifts to the incident unfolding at the bar, he makes his leave and returns to his companions.

"You're quite the popular subject, Dr. Terrani,"
he speaks to the woman, unaware of the embarrassing scene that had just taken place. He takes a position standing next to [member="Cedric Grayson"] and turns his head to him "but this New Republic of yours appears to have some level-headed organics in it's ranks." His words are interrupted by the bartenders bickering with eachother, stealing his attention for a brief moment. Once things calm, Dak nods a few times to himself. "Admirable" he affirms, the scene having acted as a reinforcement of his statement.

[member="Tobias Dracks"] [member="Dr. Aes'ona Terrani"]

"I'd expect nothing less from you." Truning to face Josh as the Jedi came to join them, Vulpesen allowed his smile to persist, his eyes following the master's hand. As Josh poured out the new drinks, Vulpesen's persisting smile widened to show the fang like teeth that were more commonly concealed by his lips. Either the jedi had failed to realzie that Vulpesen had beat him to the punch,or he was far more entertaining than the Valde gave him credit for.

Lifting his own glass to his lips, Vulpesen quickly drank down the entire contents of the containor. Setting his now empty glass aside, he plucked the new one from Josh;s hand and started with a happy sip, a look of contentment spreading across his face. "Oh yes, forgetting why you're at whatever party you're at, one of my favorite past times back home..."

@Riamah [member="Josh DragonsFlame"]

At the approach of Josh and Madalena, she turned to face them slightly with a nod as his comment. Her eyes traveled back to Krest and then Cedric before returning to Josh. Finishing off the drink Vulps had given her, she accepted the one from Josh and smiled in thanks.

"I'll be fine. Two people I never expected to see again are here."

Having made a distance between them, she started to relax and it would show. Her stance became more open and her eyes friendlier. Shaking her head slightly, she hoped Josh would get the message that now was not the place to ask about what was troubling her. In another time and place, she would tell him if he wanted.

In the past, Ra would have been a light drinker, but her metabolism now allowed her to drink more. Not yet having put it to the test, she didn't think she would tonight either. She took a sip of the new drink and looked back at Vulps when he spoke.

Letting out a small mental groan at what Vulps said, she gave no outward sign of her feelings nor did she react much. These two men just didn't seem to get along well, but that was a part of life she assumed. More due to their shared past than anything she had done or the present.

Abigail still stood among the masters, silently trying to find the one who this person was who managed to move everyone- in a way. Some became restless, some a bit nervous, and then you had people like Abby, who had become curious as to who this First Order sided person was.

But Abigail's search through the Force was halted the moment someone tapped on her shoulder. As the girl turned to see who had done so, she was greeted by a smile. It was... Aithne, from Balmorra! Abigail had met many people over time but somehow she recognised this girl immediately. As she recognised her, Abby gave the girl a warm smile in return, before she looked towards the spot Aithne nodded towards.

While Abigail was still surprised about Aithne showing up, the other girl made her way over to the spot she had motioned to before.

As Aithne moved away, Abigail followed her with her eyes for a moment. She looked at the girl's head, and her back, before she noticed the girl being in uniform rather than in more... fancy clothes, like the dress Abby was wearing. Did Aithne think dresses were dumb? Hopefully not.

Abigail fiddled with her thumb as she gave the masters a short nod before she mumbled that she was going to see someone she knew. She slowly made her way through the crowd so that she wouldn't disturb anybody, although deep inside she wanted to move so much faster. It had been so long since she had seen the girl, and secretly she had hoped they could have kept in contact.

But now Aithne was here! And she was the one who came to Abby, so she must've at least remembered her.

When Abigail finally stood before Aithne again at the side of the hall, she couldn't help but smile towards the girl. Trying to hide some of her enthusiasm, which had come from a weird feeling she had yet to understand, she spoke to her.

"Hello again, Aithne! How have you been? It's so nice to see you again. Never expected to see you here, and, by your clothing I can see you aren't fond of parties like these in general? Or perhaps you just don't like dresses like mine?", she said as she raised her arms to let Aithne take a bit of a better look at the dress Abigail wore.

It was more a question than a statement, but it was more of a way to engage in a conversation with the girl than anything. Abigail wanted to ask so many things, what had happened after Balmorra, where she had been, and so much more, but she managed to keep herself calm. Mostly.

The only thing she couldn't control was the smile on her face as she looked at Aithne. She was just a bit excited was all.

Set apart from the main crowd standing in an awkwardly stoic manner was a rather tall Cathar dressed in the standard dress uniform of the freshly brandished New Republic military. He bore no notable rank and had little in the form of bars or medals, beyond a small thin line declaring his deployment on Balmorra during a native uprising.

The Cathar was perhaps a stranger among strangers. His homeworld was in the possession of another nation, flying another flag. There was no racial pride in the New Republic, but what did exist was national patriotism. Nunak had grown attached to the liberties and qualities to which he defended, championing them with diligent duty.

He could really use a smoke.

Using caution to avoid any of the big wigs, the soldier slipped outside to find him some private place to indulge in his vice, to calm the nerves.

Drystan's eyes turned sympathetic at [member="Veiere Arenais"]' mention of his wife, [member="Lady Kay"]. "My heart is with you, Veiere... and with your people, and with Lady Kay. Part of my reason for being here this evening is to offer the hand of friendship to those people who've been most affected by this War... and to offer what service I may, to see the future is different from our present. [member="Jyoti Nooran"] is present this evening, to make our stance known... and our presence felt across the Galaxy. We are dedicated to protecting our friends from harm... to the best of our ability, of course. I'm sure she would love to speak with you personally."

She smiled, reaching out and gently touching his shoulder, offering some small comfort. She knew he'd suffered greatly... personally and collectively, over the past few months, and offered a calming presence in the Force. She still stood beside [member="Faith Organa"] and the Lord of Commenor.
