Auction Stellar Energy Stock Trading Session [Ends 1/22]

Trying-to-Make-Sense-of-the-Stock-Market-Madness.jpg

Stellar Energy is trading stocks!

For reals. As in partial ownership stocks that give your characters the ability to help decide how the company is ran. In addition, for those that jump on board early, they could become exceedingly rich. And you don't have to trade starships - just those imaginary RP credits.

Why do this? I'd simply like to get people involved with my company in as many different ways as possible. Plus, it's something different from what people normally do with stocks and company ownership.

Session ends: January 22, 10pm ET

Stock information:
  • Current Price: 10.00 credits
  • Outstanding shares: 75,000,000
  • Market cap: 750,000,000 credits
Current Shareholders:
  • Darren Apollo: 20%
  • Employees: 40% (a random amount will sell)
  • Public: 40% (a random amount will buy/sell)

Rules:
  • One trade per character/company/organization per session - editing is allowed until the deadline. Just post the template below.
  • Only attempt to purchase an amount reasonable for the character you roleplay.
  • One can only sell stocks they own (so for the first session, anyone interested is only buying).
Template:
  • Type: [Buy or sell]
  • Shares: [The amount of shares to trade]
  • Cutoff price / stock: [ The price will change as stocks are divided after a session. If buying, it's the highest price you'd pay for in a stock. If selling, it's the lowest price you'd sell for. ]
Unsure of how many shares to buy?

There are two quick ways to do that. You just need the Calculator application on your computer.
  • Come up with the most amount of credits your character would spend on the entire trade. Divide that with the cutoff price you'd pay for stock. There's your amount of shares to trade.
  • Think of what percentage of Stellar Energy you'd want to own. That's the percentage of outstanding shares you'll try to buy.
A Couple Things:
  • Not all of the NPC's shares will be for sale.
  • The more stocks bought/sold in a single session, the more drastic the price fluctuation - hence the need for a cutoff price.
  • Once you own enough stock in the company, your trades become public knowledge.

This looks interesting. Ultimatum had thought about putting money into a company before, but had stopped himself due to most people thinking it strange for a droid to be dealing with credits on such a scale. However, this seemed a good time, a small company that could grow. He looked forward to this.

He put in the information and sent it off. "Greetings, if you would allow me, I would like to purchase one(1) million shares at the price of ten(10) million credits."

A quick note, cutoff price = the price per stock (edited the lead to make this more clear). The price changes as the stocks are traded. So, while the first stock bought will be 10 credits, it will be rising in price to potentially 15 credits and beyond while your orders are still not complete.

I'll still take your trades them as valid, but you two will most likely not get all the shares asked for due to the price change.

That's fine, a minor investment now and depending on the fortunes of this company potentially further investment and more importantly Roleplay and development opportunities

News: Stellar Energy stock skyrockets 121% in a week

The price closed at 22.08 credits on Benduday with an average volume of 1,950,000 each day. Analysts are saying Stellar Energy is still a buy, but caution investing now since a price retraction is likely.

Good god I'm broke!
Could always immediately sell back. :p

On a serious note, if players buy what you sell back, then the price doesn't decrease/increase during the trade. If players don't, then it'll drop as fast as it rose.

Jack Raxis said:
Are we paid dividends?
In time, yes. If the company gets successful. Along with buybacks if the company gets super huge and I don't plan on doing much with it.

Everyone will be mentioned when dividends are paid.

Can we bring up ideas to be created?
Such as If I wanted to have an exclusive trade agreement over a specific line of power generators for the star ships that Zuguruk týuk produces? I have an interest in getting very high yield generators and I mean VERY high yield.

Per In Character disbandment of the Galactic Empire or atleast the fragmentation of its government.

My character has gone ahead and simply plundered the assets for himself by changing ledgers.

Please put full ownership of the GE's stock in your company to just Caius Flavian as the holder
