Step Two. (Order of the Grey)

Sithalchemy.jpg
Sith Alchemy. The process of manipulating and bending matter to the will of the user. Deemed one of the more darker arts, it was only Sith, as it was named after, who used it. Yet this was a new day. New people used it, perfected it. Willingly made their forges, their weapons. Such was this day, in which those who considered themselves neutral would use it.

Krest stood in a rather familiar basement, one he had cleaned, re-purposed even. The room was lit bright, despite the candles scattered around unburning. Modern lighting. Who knew it could be used in such a dark place as this. For in the center of the room stood a dark fountain. A basin filled with nothing but sheer dark energy.

This was the Dark of the Grey. That's how it worked. Above, the Light. The garden made from pure Lightside energy. Below, however, belonged to the Dark. Balance between both needed such sites. Yet the basement was restricted, a rule to keep those still learning away from the corruption of the Darkside. Those Knight or higher were the only ones allowed in the basement.

But the Zabrak didn't think a forge in a basement was enough. There was a way to help students keep their neutrality, items made from both sites. Here and now the first of the two items would be made, but he needed the assistance of other members in order to get a baseline down. For now he would wait. While the others didn't need to join, it would be good to have different sizes. And so now he would wait, for the students willing to join.

Maleus looked around the open ended atrium that formed the garden. He could feel the benevolence wafting into his senses, its presence served to center one's mind to the light. But below something more sinister existed.. He could feel it. The maleficent aura slipping through the walls, it's calling echoed from down-stairs, it was a place where he'd have to descend in order to partake in what was going down.

He'd descend to the epicenter of the darkness. It attracted him, after-all that was where he spent the most of his day's when he was a Sith. But times were different, one couldn't just delve face-first into the corruption like he did before because you would lose yourself. Hence the balance. He understood it well, but it was difficult to abstain from clinging to either side over the other.

His nostrils flared almost as if he could smell the putrid odor coming from the basement.The shutters opened to allow his body to advance. The first thing he saw was the fountain. It seemed as if the essence of mid-night had pooled in the well, it was something that was utterly foreign. Krest had piqued his interest however that is why he had come. For now he would say nothing and merely observe.

Lumbering into the darker regions of the Temple, Javik could not help but smirk. He too was attracted to the Darkness and was no stranger to it, after all he first started at One Sith and transfered over to seek more after the events on Zeltros. The Dark nexus did not bother him one bit, There was darkness in everyone and some accepted it more then others, Some hid it more then others. Javik was one such person, As he approached he nodded at [member="Krest"] and then to [member="Maleus"]. He towered over them and yet show them the proper respect. His white blind eyes lingered around it was impossible to tell what he was looking at but in his mind a whisper flowed.

Skaarj...

Blinking Javik smiled and connected to the minds of those around him, The force was not needed for this since his mind was so evolved. He spoke through thought.

<< " I have come to Observe and Learn, I trust that you will teach us much [member="Krest"]." >> His words were given life by the minds of those around him and were heard as if he were physically speaking to them.

Cain felt the presence of the dark side as he approached the basement. It weighed down the air causing the room to become stuffy, and it seemed to be more difficult to move freely. Cain started feeling more angry than normal. As he turned the corner into the room he saw the forge at the opposite side of the room. The room may have been bright, but it's contents couldn't have been any darker. Cain approached the minute group that had formed around Krest. As the others seemed to become aware of his presence there he spoke. "Krest, why did you call us hear?" A simple question, but a good one non the less. Cain knew no alchemy, so his presence their seemed to not make much sense.

A thin smile formed on the lips of the red skinned male at the sight of all three knights coming. And it didn't take long, another plus. "Very good, very good. All of you have come. Now, the Grey has one fundamental rule. Light and Dark must be kept in balance. Here within the temple we abide by this rule with the garden above and the forge below. But it is not enough, not with the Grey going far and wide. We need our own personal balances, to remind us. It is with your help that I shall create the first of two. A darkside item that all Grey will carry on their person." With a wave of his hands the lights would dim rather suddenly. The only glow would be from the forge itself, giving the whole room an ominous red glow.

"Gauntlets made similarly to a Sith Sword. Able to absorb lightning should you need to, as there is really no defense to it. And I brought you lot here as you are the only ones able to come down here for the time being. So, you shall be used as the first to receive these items. Your choice is a full blown gauntlet or a bracer, in any style you wish."

The prospect of being able to construct their own gauntlets which would serve to be lightning resistant would be a welcome addition. Maleus was more vulnerable than most to the electrifying current due to his prosthetic 'heart', if you could call it that. His eyes were drawn from Krest's form to the forge which seemed to produce a sort of kindly warmth that only a hearth could produce. If a hearth was corrupted with the dark-side and saturated the air with his presence.

Cain liked the sound of obtaining these gauntlets. He only hoped that they would look good with his armor. "Gauntlets that can block lightning, they sound useful. What do you need me to do?" Cain smiled at Krest. There were some benefits to working with the Order, that was for sure. Cain took a look at the forge behind Krest. The thing looked demonic and eerie. He wondered how it was created.

With another dramatic wave of his hand the unlit candles would suddenly light, illuminating metal. Bars and bars of metal. Durasteel, by the look of it. Krest moved over to one of the blocks, lifting it through the force. "I will mold the block to your hand. You'll still be very able to remove the glove, but.. Well. You need to think on what you want when you dip your hand into the fountain." The blocks would find their way into the basin, disappearing entirely in the thick red liquid. It looked more like a rock sinking into mud than into water.

"It will take shape biased on what you want, but again. Hand in water. Might be uncomfortable. But! Who's first?"

Cain had no fear towards the liquid in the basin. "I'm going first." Cain began to approached the forge. He felt the air thicken the closer he got. This was Cain's first experience with sith alchemy, and was paying very close attention to every detail. He reached his arm out while he got closer. When he got close enough, he stuck his hand into the liquid. It was extremely cold, and it gave Cain the sense of isolation. Chills ran down his spine. He didn't like the feeling one bit. In fact it almost made him sick.

There was a slight pause with the Zabrak before he would continue. No more words, focus. With a frown he would concentrate on the basin. What was once cold quickly grew warm, to even almost unbearable. But it was something someone could, if they chose to. [member="Cain Laatl"] would feel a sudden pinch as the metal within the basin began to form around his hand. There would be pressure, uncomfortable at first, but it would lessen. Then, and only then, Krest spoke up, his brown covered with beads of sweat.

"Imagine the gauntlet in your head, concentrate."

Cain's first reaction to the heat was to pull his hands out, but he forced them to keep still. He had heard Krest, and did what he was told. He pictured a gauntlet that had an intimidating look to them, but also looked good with his armor. He was becoming more and more uncomfortable standing there next to the forge. The liquid seemed to be slowly getting hotter as he stood there.

[member="Krest"]

The De'Nochsax tilted his giant reptilian head and observed through his hearing, he could see the motions through the sound and see clear as day the process that was starting. A gauntlet that absorbed Force Lightning... Most interesting. It was a item once thought of he flaunted and so he raised his large chitin scaled hand and examined it. He noted the guantlet would indeed be huge and disfigured in shape since it would be fitting to his rough hands. The hand of javik was random and sharp mainly, it was covered in thick scales that protected him.

Nodding in interest he spoke to the mind of everyone again but in a mutter. << " Most Interesting..." >>

The Zabrak growled as he concentrated. It wasn't an easy task, but it would end rather suddenly. Steam would escape the pool as it suddenly cooled, leaving Cain with something attached to his arm. Krest would move back from the forge, leaning on a nearby wall as he would collect himself. Luckily, it didn't remove Cain's hand. It was a first time he had tried to mold it around living tissue, so it should get easier now.

With a wave of his hand he'd call out, looking to the giant and the Zabrak. "Who's next?"

Cain felt the area around his hand harden. He slowly removed his hand from the basin. When he looked down all he could see was steel. A gauntlet covered his left hand. He could feel that it wasn't an ordinary gauntlet. It had a very smooth texture as if someone had been polishing it for days, yet his hand was set firmly in it with no chance it was going to slip out. "Thanks for these gauntlets. If that's all you wanted I'll take my leave." Cain swiftly walked out of the room.

"No time like the present." Maleus walked forward without a moments hesitation. His right hand wasn't organic at all, several robotic components saw to it that the arm worked properly. Placing it on his dominant arm seemed smart but he opted against it. For how could one defend against the lightning if they were holding a saber? No, the hand that was going to find itself submerged would be his left hand.

Before he placed his hand into the construct he found himself looking at said hand for one last time. <Here's hoping it doesn;t explode.> With that he plummeted the appendage into the stream below, with the image of his gauntlet painted in his memory he would wait for Krest to conjure up the rest of the process.

@Javik Quar-Kai

"Ahh... Yes. Mechanics.." There was a faint grin on the Zabraks face. He pushed himself off the wall, setting both hands on the sides of the basins. "Maleus, shut off the feeling to your arm. I'll be melding the glove to it." And without another warning he would begin. Of course, he shut off the boys arm without his input and started to meld the cybernetics with the alchemic metal. The glove would have all the same attributes as any other, but he would not be able to remove it. A punch from it would be much, much more powerful this way.

Or so Krest hoped. Once more sweat poured down his brow as he molded the metal to fit [member="Maleus"] 's hand. The process would be much faster than the last, for he didn't have to worry about hurting the young Zabrak and just general experience. Going off the image in the boy's mind however the gauntlet would be made, and the steam would rush upwards as the pool once more cooled instantly.

"And.. There."

The image in his mind was a gauntlet as black as night. Obsidian slots extended outwards for a place for his fingers to reside. It extended over his wrist but ended there. Several columns of metal shifted out of itself in a serrated fashion, but just enough that it didn't look out-right clumsy.
Even better, he wouldn't feel a thing as the others would. He would not feel the coldness nor the heat, but he could still see the process happening. For the forging of this new piece of armor was indeed an impressive display. <Hmmm..> The surrounding steam had risen to expose what remained below.

It was the unveiling of a new piece of gear and for that the Zabrak was truly grateful.

"You have my thanks...."

Krest stood over the fountain, panting still. But, he wasn't finished yet. Two more items. Two more processes he had to finish. Well, three, if he counted his own side project. Suddenly the man would dip his hand into the fountain, , submerging his red flesh. The liquid would heat up, as it had before, but this time the Zabrak himself had to deal with the burning sensation and form the gauntlet.

Practically panting from the pain he began to mold the metal around his hand, forming his own tool. It would take longer, longer than the rest as they weren't done on himself. But, the practice was helpful. Eventually he finished, pulling free his own gauntlet, letting out a sigh. "There we go.. [member="Maleus"] , [member="Javik Quar-Kai"] ." The blue gaze would looked up, glancing over to the two remaining.

"You both will assist me with the next two items. A gauntlet for you, my giant friend. And another thing for myself, if you don't mind."

Javik stepped forward and nodded Reaching forward with a Giant hand into the Forge. He felt nothing his scales were too thick to let him felt the cold, The De'Nochsax stood their waiting for the process to begin, Nodding at [member="Krest"] he said << " I am Ready," >> And so in Javiks mind he pictured a Bracer. The rest picked a gauntlet but he decided on a Bracer, after thinking about it a gauntlet would look odd on him and be cumbersome. A Bracer was of his best interest.

[member="Maleus"]

"Of course." Krest had given him this piece of equipment which would prove to be invaluable in combat. So it went without saying that the Zabrak would assist the elder of the two in whatever he could in order to show his gratitude. He folded his arms together as he waited for some kind of explanation. One that would most certainly be provided,but Javik's condition was considered.

He would wait for the two to complete the process of the construction of his gauntlet before inquiring further.
