Stranded on Devaron

Venni

Guest
Dozens of trees passed Venni as she ran through the forests of Devaron. It was early in the morning, so she was out on her daily run. It had rained the previous night, so there was a lot of mud on the ground, but it wasn't anything Venni hadn't survived yet. She kept her focus on what was in front of her so she could weave through the trees at the right time. Occasionally there would be a log or rock on the ground that she would do a front-flip over. She definitely knew what she was doing, and it showed.

While still running, Venni changes direction to a large tree. She runs head on towards the tree, and with her momentum she runs up it, grabbing onto a low hanging branch. She pulls onto the branch to lift herself up the rest of the way, and when she is steady she begins climbing the rest of the tree. Within a minute she was at the top of the tree, about 100 feet above ground.

Standing on a strong branch, Venni looks over the forest, viewing what she called home. She saw creatures scattered throughout the forests that she spent much of her time hunting, but right now they were in luck, as Venni didn't need to hunt at that moment. She trapped and caught several animals before it rained the previous day so as to have some backup food ready to be slaughtered and cooked over a makeshift campfire.

Venni jumped off of the branch she once stood on, grabbing onto other branches as she fell only to let go of them to fall closer to the ground. Within a few brief moments she was almost to the bottom; she just needed to grab onto one more branch. She readied her hands to grab an incoming branch, but she slipped up at the last second. Barely holding the branch, Venni fell to the ground on her back. Thankfully the fall wasn't that far, so she was okay. Having enough climbing for that day, Venni started to make her way to the Acclamator-class assault ship wreckage she called home. She would reach her destination in about an hour.

If [member="Venni"] watched the sky looked up at this time she would see 4 GR 105 Crusis Armed Transports fly over head going in the direction of her wrecked assault ship home. Finding room in the clearing where the Acclamator lay a four ship touched down and a host of men, women, and droids, piled out to examine the wreck. Among them was a twenty something ginger looking man with a well manicured beard, long red trench coat and if you looked closley you may be able to see a large light saber hilt handing off his belt.

"Alright team fan out and lets check this beauty out. I know she is old but at the very least if her hull isn't in to bad a shape we can lift her out for refit."

Bryce was a ship collector of sorts, he loved working on old hull and forgotten tech, it was in his salvage nature. If anyone was to come and observe the action around the ship to them it wold look like as if a science team had come to observer a rare dig site.

As Venni got closer to her home she noticed the four GR-105 "Cru'sis" armed Transport's in the sky before they landed a ways off from where she was when she saw them. Realizing that was people, she sped up in heading home, and by the time she got back she saw the people around the wrecked acclamator. She was behind some foliage, so she wouldn't be seen immediately, but she could see them. She examined the people for a moment, but she decided she didn't want this opportunity to finally meet someone pass her by. "Hey!" She yelled out as she speedily left her hiding spot, but she froze when she got closer. She had no idea what to say.

"Hello," Bryce replied as a woman suddenly burst from cover then quickly froze up when meeting him and his team.

Seeing her discomfort he tried to calm her saying, "Oh no need to worry, we are just exploring the wreck here. See I love me old boats and one dating back to the clone wars well that is ... epic if ya know what I mean.

Bryce paused for a moment before continuing, "Shot, you know what, totally forgot my manners here for a minute, name is Bryce. I'm leading this little expedition, what's your's?"

As Bryce asked he held out his hand in a sign of friendship, hoping she would take it and this interaction would be a friendly one.

Venni stared at the man as he introduced himself. When he put out his hand, she didn't know what it meant as she had never seen that gesture before. But he seemed nice enough so far. "I'm Venni." She looked at him, and she managed to catch a glimpse of his lightsaber, and her face lit up. "Are you a Jedi?" She asked excitedly. "I've always wanted to join the Jedi. I've read about the Jedi in the ship and I think I have the force, so can I join? I have been here since I was a kid and I've been training myself to be a Jedi. Will you take me to the Jedi Order?" She spoke quickly to the man she assumed was a Jedi as she had many things she wanted to ask him. She was shaking from excitement, and she was just barely holding herself from jumping up and down.

"A jedi? I sware I come back to some long forgotten planet and folks start getting delusions of grander. But I guess that is only half right, I'm not Jedi but I am pretty strong with the force and do know a few other in the alliance."

Bryce was taken aback by the abrupt response. Getting a good look at the girl she looked a little worse for ware, hair was long but tussled like she had just been in a fight. Cloths seem to be not much better. Still Bryce could feel she was strong with the force if not a bit undisciplined. Still as far as he was concerned she had a right to ask he guessed. No since beating around the bush.

"As as far as taking you to a Jedi order, there are a few, best known one are in the silvers area and the alliance. Still lets start from the beginning her, high my name is Bryce and I like to know who I'm helping... and you are?"

Venni's excitement left her when the man revealed he wasn't a Jedi. She was skeptical about trusting the man, but she didn't see any other choice. "I'm Venni and I have been here since I was younger." She spoke rather shyly now. "I've read about the Jedi on the ship, and when I saw your lightsaber... You said you were here for the ship? It doesn't work. Well, it did a long time ago, but it doesn't anymore. But that's where I read about the Jedi." She examined the man, wondering if she could trust him. "You can have the ship, but when you leave the planet can I... can I come with you?"

"When you say younger, how young we talking?" Bryce asked.

He had a feeling it had been some time. He was an orphan at an early age as well, had she been left to fend for herself as he had back on Tarus? At any rate he was not one to leave someone in need of help without it, especially a possible orphan such as himself.

"As for leaving the planet that we can do, the survey team will be here a while working out the details on how to salvage the hull and refit her. I accept your offer and will trade you passage to any were in the galaxy. You say you want to meet jedi, to be a jedi. If you don't mind me asking, why?"

Bryce motioned for her to enter the nearest ship, if she followed he would give the crew the signal to fire up the engines and prepare for take off.

"Hold that thought, lets discuss this over a cup of coco."

Venni followed Bryce to the nearest ship, and she started to look a little more comfortable around him. "On the Republic Ship I found some archives about who the Jedi were. How they were protectors of peace, and how they opposed evil in the galaxy. When my parents left me on this planet all I wanted to do was help others by fighting evil." She thought for a moment, then continued. "I was ten years old when my parents left me here. But I don't know how long it has been since then. I counted the days at first, but I stopped when I reached 100. And that was a long time ago."

Feth, why would they just leave their daughter on a planet, Bryce wondered? Either way it didn't really matter. She was old enough to pick her destiny and so he would honor her request. Traveling to the heart of the Alliance Bryce took [member="Venni"] to Sullest, to meet who she would, and who would prepare her for the next part of her life. Landing on one of the many landing pads of the Sullest Temple Bryce had reached out to their allies in the Kathol region, and hoped one such as [member="Trextan Voidstalker"] or other of the order would take her in. As the door opened to the shop and the two walked down he would be surprised as she to see who if any would take up her request.

"Have you ever met Bryce from the Kathol? Tall ginger lad?" [member="Jacen Voidstalker"] asked.

Trextan was at the door to his chambers. He still refused to wear the traditional robes. Mostly because it seemed about the only thing he could do to slightly irk Jacen. He did, at least, wear muted brown colours and a split collar top.

"Nope, why?"

"He's bringing someone who wants to join us, can you go collect them please? Theyre slightly late and i have a lesson," Jacen asked calmly.

"We have a lesson," Trextan countered.

"Yes but the class can afford one student more than the teacher. Just go and greet her, find her some quarters and come to the lesson with them."

Trextan was silent for a moment, decided whether to press his luck. "Fine."

"And put on a damn robe."

Trextan smiled to himself as he turned back into his quarters to find one.

"Welcome to Sullust," Trextan called out to the newcomers.

Venni followed Bryce off of the ship. The new location was scary, but also exciting. Everything was different from what she knew. The most exciting thing about the setting was a man that was greeting them. Venni understood that Bryce was taking her to meet Jedi, and this man had to be one. Venni was nearly jumping up and down from excitement. "You're a Jedi, aren't you? I've always wanted to meet a Jedi! I've wanted to be a Jedi since I was younger! Will you take me to find a master to train me? I mean..." Venni stopped herself, then stood at attention towards the man, though her excitement didn't leave her face.

The reaction caught Trextan off guard. It stranded the teenager in a place somewhere between amusement and embarrassment. He looked up at the glass dome over their heads. The entire temple was a floating bauble above the surface of Sullust.

"Well you're going to have a good day of that's how much one Jedi gets you going. There are a lot here," he laughed. "We'll find your quarters first. Then go to a lesson."
