Streets of Corellia

Tok was starting to understand why they were not being challenged or noticed just yet. This was something big, that involved a lot of the gang members down here.

Making their way into the Cistern of Discipline, Tik felt a noticeable chill run up his spine, and he did his best to keep his gaze low and himself unnoticed, as Sam had been doing.

Tok looked around openly, taking in his surroundings, his potential opponents around him, and any areas of the room that could be of use. There was small talk around them as gang members all discussed what they thought the announcement would be about. Tik could hear them speaking too, as both boys had hearing that was on the upper spectrum of sensitivity. Tik would look up at Sam as he listened, whispering to her

"Nobody knows why everyone is here yet. Some are talking about a new gang leader being introduced. Other ones think it might be something to do with changing territories or something like that. A few are even thinking its about some big job or heist"

Tik reported to Sam quietly, as though he were some little mini-agent under her command. It was rather funny, considering neither of them knew of who she truly was.

As the leader stepped out and spoke, Tok could pick up on the reaction Sam gave right away, though Tik didnt seem to notice as much. Tok shook his head a little and glanced from Sam, to Devlin, and back to Sam again. Tok whispered after glancing around

"You know him...don't you..."

Tok said, pausing as the leader man began to speak, telling the large chamber of gang members what this was really about. So they were moving out onto the streets?

As soon as the man asked for volunteers, Tok knew what would happen, and he was right. No hands went up. Most of the gang members knew already - don't ever volunteer for anything.

Tok had to think fast. If volunteers didn't produce themselves, they would start hand-picking volunteers from the crowd. If they did that, it was almost certain that the three of them would be noticed, and probably volunteered as well

Tok glanced around and then quickly whispered to Tik

"Tik I need you to raise some of these guys hands. You're more accurate at that stuff than me. Just pick a few that you can hit with a small wave without them knowing what happened"

Tik and Tok were not formally trained. What most people knew as a force-push, the boys simply revered to as a "wave" of energy that allowed them to manipulate objects. Tik, being the more patient and focussed of the boys, could be quite precise

Nodding to his brother's suggestion, Tik glanced around, finding one kind of large gang member nearby. From this view, Tik could see the man's right arm fairly clearly. With a bit of focus, Tik exerted a force at the underside of the man's elbow, and suddenly the gang member's arm was being thrust into the air.

"We have one volunteer"

Was announced by the leadership as the happless gang member looked around frantically, trying to figure out why he had just raised his hand. It felt like someone had pushed his arm into the air, but nobody near him had touched him

Tik picked a few more easy targets, popping their arms into the air, causing them to volunteer. A few "what the =%@$" could be heard from the gang members as they volunteered against their wills

"We need a few more volunteers"

Was announced, Tik glancing around to try to pick another target he could manage with such precision

"Hurry up Tik I don't want them finding us"

It took Barr a while but he finally made it to his desired location looking outside he notice the old imperial ship yards that clearly seen better days. Barr couldn't help but think of possible gangs hiding out there and the problems he will most likely face. Ambushes, numbers game, armed thugs, he didn't want to think about it but he knew he had too. His father made him like that for better or for worse.

Paying the pilot the required credits, Barr get out of the car not bothering with the pilot or the ship leaving the area. He quickly examines the area around him in order to try and get an idea of what going on. He slowly walked into the area, taking great place not to do anything that would cause him to be discovered. He heard different sounds which peaked his interest and caused in to take cover in whatever he could find as he went closer. He soon recognize the sounds as voices and quickly realized people that there were people talking to what seems like each other.

Barr stopped moving closer once he got close enough to the origin of the voices. He didn't want to risk being seen and didn't want to get his hands dirty...yet...or so he hoped and attempted to overhear the conversation while looking around to see if there was anything one else nearby.

She couldn't move from the spot she stood in all she could do was stare a voice slowly broke through her haze, "yes" she looked down, "I do know him, he's bad news." Oh the things he had done with his sanitation company. She couldn't prove any of it. Feth.

Volunteers?!

OH, Sam tried not to appear like she was crouching further down into the crowd shaking her head, this was bad. then the twins began to react whispering. Sam got uneasy. But then volunteers began to step forward, they must be insane or in need or a promotion.

She wanted to volunteer but couldn't so how to get involved in this...

"Come on I'll choose the last few in a minute" Devlin's voice carried around the room like some harbinger of death the voices went silent. She shook her head. Then three others stepped forward, relief washed over Sam. She hoped it was enough.

Devlin nodded with approval, "fine...rest of you get some sleep. Volunteers stay put."

She had to find a way to listen to the conversation, "we have to know what he says" she whispered. "ideas?"

Tok sighed in relief and Tik grinned a little as the needed volunteer list was completed. At least they weren't discovered...yet. But this was getting more dangerous the longer they were here.

Tok still seemed somewhat suspicious, and reflected on what she had said about knowing him. Her words showed that the man certainly wasn't a friend or ally, so it was clear they needed to ensure not to be noticed by Devlin

"Would he recognise you if he saw you?"

Tok felt that he needed to understand the risks involved here. There was a difference between simply trying to remain unnoticed versus intentionally making sure someone doesn't see your face. In this incidence, they would have to be sure Devlin didn't even see her, if he would recognise her

Her next objective caused the twins to look at one another, both pondering the problem

"Tik could probably listen to them for us... Tik, how close will you need to be?"

Tok whispered to Sam and then his brother, as gang members started to clear out of the large gathering area. Tok was well aware that his brother had a certain knack at hearing others, another small gift within the force bestowed to the more light-natured of the two.

"Is there a way we can stay in here? I could definitely hear them from anywhere in this room. If not...i could try from further away but its harder the further we get from him"

Tik asked, looking up to Sam for an answer. She was more familiar with the situation and these tunnels, Sam would be the only one who could really determine if they could remain in this room and not be noticed.

Tok stared at Devlin, offering alternative ideas as he thought about the situation and what it was they were trying to accomplish

"Or, if we had some sort of device to listen with, one of us could probably get it close enough to pick up what they are saying"

Would he recognize her? "Yes he would and it would be an unfriendly reunion." Yep he had been a lot of trouble and said he would make her pay for her...interference was what he said. She believed him it was that hard look of anger and desperation on his face that told her he meant it. She had not forgotten.

Sam was unprepared for all of this really it was supposed to be something solo, and quick, well as quick as she could make it. She looked around trying to think about what they could do. If she revealed herself all they would never learn anything, and his priority might change. So that ploy was out.

There were several entrances, Sam whispered, "maybe we can linger out in the tunnel." She knew that was fool, "maybe find another way in or bribe the volunteers." Or follow one she thought, or...something else...but was she now losing sight of the objective. She didn't know, that was the risk she took really.

Changing one carrot for another, "what do you think of following one?" She starting shuffling towards an exit so that they didn't end up standing all alone and exposed.
