This is a grand idea, I support this. About a year ago I wanted a cool little pirate base that used interconnected asteroids that were hollowed out or mined. Unfortunately, it was just a smidge too big. This would really be an awesome opportunity for the lesser communities (minor factions/companies) to have deeper story, their own custom little homebase.

That is understandable, sir. When we get into the realm of massively major construction projects, they should be treated as such. Not only does Kuat Drive Yards have its beautifully sexy Ringyard, but it also has insanely large Sector Ports simply just for traffic control on Hyperlanes. Perhaps we should have a similar system using Faction threads or just large enough Private threads? Of course Development threads are out the window, but we should still have some sort of development option, instead of just anyone throwing up a MoonStation, who don't even seem to have any following. I mean, for the SSD, those Dominions are also just Development threads, right?

Anyway, I support removing restriction on civillian ships also.

Not a flight attendant... just a risk.
[member="Jay Scott Clark"] , this writer has a lot of tactics up her sleeve. Just outsmarted a group of FO troopers that were bearing down on the roof my parked ship. Sent them off in a spin..haha. :p

I am serious. And, it has to fit on Marina's boat. I'll get Danger or Alric to deliver it to her with grand fiesta.

I think I love you. Sidenote, my love and sensual tenderness shall firmly be expressed in the form of an alligator gun that you may?, (or may not), actually find a use for. Naturally encased in both ribbons and bows of red and silver glittersilk. Yum.

Cheers girl! And always remember to travel the star lanes responsibly. Gift coming soon. :D :p

...as long as said alligator gun is non-lethal. Not that I don't dislike the killing of animals for food, as I love my banta steaks. Just that I prefer not to do the killing. I incidentally purchase my juicy steaks at Star-Rite Supermarkets. Never see eyes on my steaks... :p

Oi...are we hijacking this discussion thread?..?? :huh:

Sorry. :(

100% agree. Similarly to Alric and Val I would say that companies at Tier I and other lower tiers should keep limits, but maybe increase them slightly up to tier 5 and once you hit tier V, no limit on fleet sizes, Tier VI no limit on fleet size or ship size (or limit it to whatever the largest Legends Civilian ship/station was)

I was in all honesty waiting for the Factory to comment, see if they found the concept itself in any way feasible, but having a clear-cut table with what we are proposing might help them with that.

I will draw something up a bit later today!

Following closely to [member="Valiens Nantaris"]'s suggestion. T1-3 get doubled as do minor factions. From T4+ I doubled the meterage per field for stations and added the previous field's value to the next one for ships. Tier 6 and Major Factions do not have a stipulation.

This one was a bit more tricky, but in the end I decided to simply follow the previous table. I did add production numbers for the first three tiers and minor factions, but left them out for T4+ because those companies are large enough and have been expanded enough that it doesn't really matter anymore. Tier 6 and Major Factions remain unbound in this proposal.

So far I agree with everyone's sentiments so far and support this, even though I have nothing really to do with fleeting or the likes. My only concern is someone attempting to modify a civilian ship to fulfill more of a combat role, at which point I both suggest and assume that restrictions be reapplied in that case.

[member="Lily Kuhn"]

Oh it did? If so, the chart under the Factory rules hasn’t been updated and still shows the old limitations.

This is going by the original posters suggestion of the complete removal of civilian ships and stations limits.
