Public Summer Time - Kattada

Kattada was more than happy to open its doors to the galaxy, well, the galaxy that didn't mind getting onto a tropical world that was the stronghold of the Starchaser clan, a Jedi Temple, and explorers. It was the beginning of summer at Tidehome. And it was a wonderful time of year.

The seas had their warm winds. Their calm gentle breezes making the water almost glow. The visibility was great, and even on the surface? The winds were enough for the sailing craft that were docked at Tidehome and the Jedi Temple, but the seas were calm enough for the personal watercraft to be taken out. The main focus was not always on the water.

The Blue Coral Divers and Jedi Wayseekers of Tidehome were celebrating the coming of the year. The coming of the solstice that signaled the tilt towards the sun and the warmth of the world. The shoreside part of Tidehome had beings selling trinkets, from shell necklaces, collected corals, and fine honeys and wines, while others were pedaling fruit and flowers.

Coren Starchaser was walking the seaside markets, along the small duracrete paths, with the sand and surf to his side. The opening of the Summer Solstice and the warmest season of the year was here, and the call went out to those who were willing to come to the world. It was in the Alliance, but Coren did work hard enough to keep their teeth out of it, allowing it to remain a resort world, a witch world, a Jedi world.

He smiled at Celeste and pulled her close. All of the kids were out of the Temple now, the twins having entered their training times as Padawans. It was good to be home.

OOC: A beach thread for those of the Jedi persuasion and allies. Enjoy the coming of summer on a nice tropical world!

The heat of the summer sun was there and he rarely interacted with the other jedi but COren was... well Coren and offering a place that jedi could gather could be interesting enough. So he had come out of the Omean temple to the world and was there on the beach. THe jedi masters short hair and sah on as well as trunks and bear feet. He looked around only enough to find a place he could meditate and allow the force to wrap around himself. He was looking outwards with the force towards the ocean where the coral divers were and thought for a moment that Tempest Yore Tempest Yore and Sera Inkari Sera Inkari would find a wonderful purpose here.

The summer time was always an interesting experience for Lily, she was never use to how warm and sunny other worlds could possibly get in comparison to how she had lived on Eshan. So, given the chance to meet other Jedi and enjoy the warm weather on Kattada at a beach was an opportunity that Lily would never skip out on. She brought beachwear for the first time, which was an eye opening experience since she had never been seen outfits quite like those. Especially some of them. It seemed scandalous to wear in public.

Adjusting the knot of her skirt as she wandered down to the beach and looked around. She appeared to be one of the first people to arrive at the beach and she gave a smile to the others that were there. She didn't recognise any faces at the moment so her anxiety kept her shy for now until there was at least someone else she knew that she could talk with and eventually get around to speak with the new faces and learn their names. For now, she stepped closer to the water as the waves moved forward and back, watching the ebb and flow of the water.

It seemed like a dance between the land and the ocean, moving in sync and simplistic but also graceful. Lily dipped a foot into the water to feel the temperature against her very pale skin.

Ran played in the water with the children. She kept them safe, and also had a chance to release her inner child. A child that hadn't existed when she actually was that age. The Sith and their empires took more away from her than she had ever realized, but she had a unique chance to reclaim at least a fraction of what she thought had been taken from her.

"Pass the gyroball here, Ran!" One of the kids called out. Ran threw it and spun it even faster with some assistance from the force. "That's cheating, Ran! You can't use the force! You're out!" A twi'lek child screeched. Ran laughed. She hadn't been aware of all the made up rules the kids had for their game. "Okay. Okay. I'm out," Ran announced. "But I will be back for the next game." She warned as the kids giggled, okayed and continued playing.

Ran, however, would not be back for the next game. She strode up from the ocean. Water dripped down her green skin, and bathing suit. She dropped her sunglasses from the top of her wet and slicked back hair to her eyes and continued to the Seaside Markets. She grabbed a honeyed wine and perused some of the wares the different vendors had for sale. She stopped and hovered over a beaded bracelet made of shells and flawed pearls thinking about how beautiful she thought it was.

Valery sat atop her towel and hummed a tune. She was slowly trailing her hand down her arm to apply some sunscreen, then did the same for her legs, neck and other parts of exposed skin. Even with her tan, she didn't want to head back into war with a sunburn making every piece of armor uncomfortable. Today was about relaxing and she really needed it. Recent battles had taken a toll on her body, but her mind had been just as troubled.

Too many dark visions struck her at night, or whenever she finally believed to have a moment of peace.

Not today, though. She watched the waves reach shore in silent peace, felt the sun against her skin and loved that gentle breeze blowing through her long hair.

She felt at ease.

It was definitely different, being here, for Jared. His father had moved towards Kattada following his retirement from the war games of the Outer Rim, and the temple still reflected the values he held from the old New Jedi Order he had created. That groups of the Force were able to work alongside each other, so long as they didn't fall to the Sith teachings in express detail.

The Mirialan had been out sailing, one of the small catamaran dinghies. As he ran it to the beach, he dropped the sail and worked on dragging it up. He could have used the Force, but this was such a common thing, that pulling on the boat with the Force felt a bit odd.

People were going to be arriving, and Jared took a look around the local beach of Tidehome and the Jedi Temple on the world. He could feel his father, step mother, and sister out there. And another one, the Jedi Grandmaster. He grabbed his water bottle and towel, making his way down the beach.

"Oh, so you do make it away from the Temple…" He laughed and winked. "How are you, Val?" He wasn't going to start calling her Master, he wasn't one of her Forcers.

Sid had declared a mandatory fun day for the Zeltron when she'd been released, and the sling over her cloned left arm removed.

Much to her dismay it seemed as though Briana had enabled, perhaps even encouraged, the droids ability to adapt to her needs. Even the objection of a newborn had been accounted for as the Droid carried a menagerie of items to allow both mother and child to comfortably enjoy a quiet moment by the ocean.

Carrying her daughter in her right arm as she tested the newly attached left further. A perfect organic copy of her original, though it still felt strange to have it again as she tried to keep her steps even with Sid. An unwitting game the two had started as they both attempted to match the others step.

Each causing a stutter in their journey at different spots of interest before they finally made it to the sand.

"I wasn't opposed to staying indoors." Came another protest from her as her escort remained on the path forward. Certain that she had heard a static filled scoff as her eyes narrowed into the backplate of the lumbering figure ahead of her.

"Given your behavior during the entirety of your.-" A pause in his speech made her wonder exactly what he was processing and how crude it would be as she walked behind him. Keeping Zeriana carefully wrapped from the sun overhead. "Gravid state, that is a blatant lie."

Being certain Sid had opted for a far more discerning word, she didn't argue.

"I just hate sitting around." She grumbled, casting her eyes across the beach as Sid led them along.

As much as she wanted to argue anyway.

Sid remained quiet as he scanned the area. His head swiveling rapidly around before aiming skyward. Arm outstretched with the absurdly large beach umbrella as he lined it up with some unseen line he was calculating before a solid thump marked their arrival as the base of the umbrella was buried in one solid drive.

Her little bundle fussed at the noise, sleepy eyes peeling open and blinking before closing once more with a heavy breath. Causing Lossa to stop breathing until Zeriana had closed her eyes completely. Sid choosing to remain ignorant of his crime as he opened the chair and settled it in place.

Adjusting the heavy bag from his other arm to keep from ripping it as he tried to settle items around the chair.

A silent warning to the Droid passed with a glare as she sat down on the chair and slowly moved herself into place. Her efforts to not disturb the sleeping bundle ineffectual as each move seemed to build upon the discomfort. A scrunched pink face finally settling into sleep once more when Lossa laid back and sat still.

"Comfortable?" Had it been a year earlier, SID-10S "Sid" SID-10S "Sid" posing such a question would have made her worry for her safety. Now though, she was fairly certain she'd been used to soften the Droid's temperament. If that were possible.

"My book if you would please. And a water." Her right hand opened as Sid deftly plucked the book from the bag and was placed it. Her thumb slowly extended to open the book. Feeling as though she were using the nuerocrown instead of working her digits as the bookmark slid out of the way. Eyes scanning over the words before memory took over and found her place.

Shamelessly staring into One Night On Zeltros as Sid set a bottle beside her. The bag left open beside her chair and thoroughly rummaged through as a shocking discovery was about to be shared. Holding onto the drink too long, wordlessly grabbing her attention as she memorized her spot and looked up with a frown.

"I will return shortly with, another snack. It seems we had a thief." A knowing smile thrown at him as he poked a straw into it for her. The Droid shook his head but didn’t seem annoyed, fixating at the baby before looking around them intently.

"You will be in good hands. Master's Master is here. And her apprentice." Sid nodded before moving away, finally able to stand completely now that he wasn't under the umbrella. Two steps were all the Droid made before swiftly turning back. The sound of his servos familiar enough now it caused the book to dip in her lap to signal her attention.

"Attempt to remain awake. At least until my return." The book rose once more as Sid set off on his quest.

Shifting in the lounge chair to get more comfortable, she looked down at Zeriana to confirm she hadn't woke with the slight movement, before diving back into the book. Lossa's face moving between amusement and deep thought as she read further. Each blink drawing down her eyelids a little more as the waves lapped in gentle rhythm.

Warmth seeping in as the breeze seemed to sing a tune of its own in chorus with the waves. Her mind drifting from the book slowly as she relaxed and let the book fall away. Staring out at the ocean idly.

Somewhere down the beach, the sound of a game picking up made her grin.

Valery peaked over the rim of her sunglasses and watched Jared Starchaser Jared Starchaser approaching from afar. She blinked, swallowed and quickly shifted the glasses back over her eyes. Dear god, you could grind meet on those abs. Valery shook her head to clear her mind, chuckled to herself, and reached into her bag to pick up a book. This time, she wasn't going to get caught reading spicy romance novels in public.

This was a more tame romance novel.

"Oh, so you do make it away from the Temple…"

Valery slowly looked up and met his wink with a smirk, "Surprise," she said, as she put away the book. Leaning back, Valery placed her hands behind her on the towel and straightened out her legs. The warm sun against her skin was pure bliss, and she couldn't complain about the view. Especially now.

"Busy and often a little tired these days, but I can't complain on a day like this. Care to join me?"

There were more jedi coming... and he felt old as he had no idea who any of them were. Iella would have been better at meeting them but he remained where he was for now at least. Sitting there and breathing in the scents while each one pulsed with the force. He was sensing everything there as his hearing heard a few conversations and he turned his head. Crossing his legs before allowing the force to spread outwards and downwards... generating as he grounded himself into the planet with its living energies swirling around. His breathing going even and he looked outwards more and more to encompass the area

There were a few more people arriving on the beach, Lily spotted Lossa and Valery, giving both of them a wave since she was glad to see others that she knew. Stepping away from the sea, Lily walked over to Lossa and gave a smile, "hey there Lossa, it is great to see you at the beach. Hope you are doing well." Lily asked.

She gave a wave to Ran as well, gesturing the other Jedi to join her and Lossa, figuring it would be good to interact with someone new. Breathing in deeply, she was nervous about talking with new people but she tried to settle her nerves so that she could enjoy the day at the beach and the chance to meet new people.

Sitting down on the sand, she enjoyed the feel of the sun on her skin.

Kimiyo sat cross-legged on the warm sands of the Kattada beach, eyes closed and mind attuned to the gentle rhythm of the waves. The Force flowed around her, a soothing presence that mirrored the calmness of the sea. Each breath she took was a meditation, a moment to reconnect with the serenity she often sought. She felt the warmth of the sun on her skin, a reminder of the light that had guided her path since childhood.

The tranquility of the beach provided a perfect setting for reflection. Kimiyo's thoughts drifted to her training, her growth, and the journey that lay ahead. The recent loss of her mentor still weighed heavily on her heart, but here, amidst the peace of Kattada, she found a semblance of solace. The Force whispered to her, offering comfort and strength, urging her to find balance within herself.

After a while, Kimiyo opened her eyes and reached for her holo-pad. Inspired by the harmony around her, she began to tap at its screen, composing something in a document. One of things that she fondly recalled of Master Steelin was his love of the arts, and how he instilled a love of poetry in her. Thusly, she began writing out such a piece inspired by this experience at the beach.

Glancing around, Kimiyo noticed other Jedi and beachgoers enjoying the day. She observed them with a quiet curiosity, recognizing familiar faces and sensing the shared bond of the Force. Though she chose not to interact at present, she appreciated the sense of community that surrounded her. For now, she remained in her quiet corner, content to immerse herself in the calm and let the Force guide her thoughts and words.

After trying on an assortment of jewelry Ran stepped away from the vendors wearing an anklet made of seashells and flawed pearls, and in her hands held a bag filled to the brim with a variety of seaside fruits, an umbrella, and a blanket.

As the Mirialan Jedi Knight made her way up the beach she could pick apart the Jedi from all others. It was an interesting sight. To see her comrades, both familiar and unknown, enjoy themselves away from the galactic politics, the jedi traditions, and all the conflicts of the modern age was a surreal experience.

Continuing down the beach Ran thought she could see a younger woman waving at her. A quick glance over her shoulder verified that the white haired girl was indeed waving at her. Me? She questioned as she raised her sunglasses back to the top of her head. Ran didn’t know the young woman but she recognized the Jedi Knight that sat beside her so she approached.

“It is a pleasure to meet you in person, Lossa Aureus.” Ran declared and curtsied to her fellow Knight. They'd had a recent correspondence via holocommunicator and humanitarian efforts. “I am Ran Serys.” She reminded Lossa and introduced herself to the younger woman.

“May I sit?” She asked before joining them. It only took a moment for Ran to place her new umbrella in such a way that it elongated the area of shade Lossa’s umbrella already provided. And set down her new blanket.

“Fruit?” Ran offered from the bag as she sat. “This one is tart, these are sweet, that one is bitter, and those are sour.” She explained, taking a sour for herself, before her ears pricked up at the sound of a small coo from the sleeping baby. It was enough to make her heart melt.

Catching sight of Lily before sending a wave back at her, she was pleased to see company was arriving. Stealing a glance down as Lily spoke to see how well Zeriana would take the noise. Seemingly ignorant of the new voice as Lily settled in range of the sun above. Oblivious to the bundle in her other arm as she set the book down.

"Nice to have a quiet day honestly. Good to see you as well." Biting her tongue as Lily waved to someone strolling along the market stalls. Beckoning them over it seemed as she smiled in bemused wonder at Lily missing the swaddled baby she was holding.

Turning her head to see who Lily was waving over to spy a Mirialan coming their way. Settling in place to watch the woman approach as the drowsy spell seemed to flee. Full attention had arrived, adjusting a little in her chair to better greet the new arrival. Her book sliding down beneath the edge of the chair as her name was said, landing in the sand with a dull plop as her expression went blank.

Feeling properly called out for not knowing who the other was before it all clicked into place.

"Oh! Yes, hello! Same same." A little embarrassed at fumbling their first proper meeting after working together through correspondence.

"Yeah. Feel free! When uh-" Looking towards the stalls once more before turning back to them both. "When Sid gets back I can see about some chairs if you'd like?"

Not wanting to stare, Lossa instead let her gaze wander down the beach. Drawn back when the offer of fruit was made and she perked up at the offered choices. The slight shift drawing out a soft sound from the bundle in her left arm. Confirming that Zeriana was still content to sleep, Lossa pointed to the sour one.

"The sour one, please." The lessons her instructors on Naboo had given very worth their while suddenly.

Seeing Ran approach, Lily was in her head thinking over the right way to introduce herself and ensure that she did not stumble over her words or say anything silly or stupid. Lily wanted to make a good, a great, first impression. "Hi, Ran." Lily squeaked as her nerves hit the tone of her voice, "I'm..ahem. I'm Lily." Lily cleared her throat to attempt to return her voice back to normal. Her heart was racing as she was trying to engage in social interactions and talk with a complete stranger, it was triggering so much anxiety and mental fixation.

When Ran sat, Lily felt a smile encroach on her lips, she had achieved the first step. That was good. When a piece of fruit was offered, she took the option of sweet since she did not like the face that her face made whenever she tried anything that was sour. Lily took a bite of the fruit and looked over to Lossa, finally noticing the baby that Lossa had on her lap. Lily's face when from pleased with herself to jaw dropped shock almost instantly.

"When... How.... Whose the.... What....?" Lily's brain firing questions faster than her mouth could articulate them. She never expected to see Lossa with her child here. What had she missed? There seemed to be a lot and she really wanted to catch up, interested in everything that Lossa had gone through. But then realised how she must have looked to Ran and blushed immediately. "Oh... Sorry Ran, I, erm...., I am just surprised with everything happening today it seems." She felt her cheeks pinken in colour.

For a brief moment, Ran believed that maybe her presence had made things awkward for the younger women. Those were her insecurities speaking, and they were quickly washed away like sand on the shore. The sour taste of a fruit brought her back to reality. There was no need for insecurity. These women waved her over, and shared in her snacks. They were friendly and so was Ran. So despite the puckered faces Ran made between every sour bite she made what she thought was polite conversation.

Ran smiled at Lily's frantic questions. "Yes. I agree. When? How? Whose the? And what?" She laughed. She wasn't making fun of Lily. Ran had been charmed by Lily's energy in a moment. "No need to apologize, Lily. It's not everyday you see a Jedi Knight on a beach with a newborn baby." She observed.

Ran listened to Lossa's answer intently, then followed with a question of her own. "Lossa, is this Sid character your partner?" Ran scanned the beach for someone who looked like a Sid before taking a second look at the baby. She was happy for Lossa. Many different species considered a birth and the raising of life to be a transformative experience. Ran hoped to undergo that transformation one day. Although after a lifetime of forced experimentation she wondered if she even could. The thought unnerved her so she pushed it aside and instead focused on how adorable the swaddled and sleeping infant appeared.

She adjusted herself on the edge of the blanket and put her toes in the warm sand. It wasn't everyday Ran found herself relaxing on the beach. She decided to enjoy all the comforts it had to offer, the big and the small.

Ugh, family events.

Shading her eyes with her hand, Iona was off on one side of the beach, underneath some large swaying tropical trees. The Mirilan teenager was none to happy with having to be stuck with the Starchasers once again....despite being a Starchaser herself. What had she been doing in the meantime away from the Starchaser legacy? There had been a casino heist and then, not much else.

Iona was still searching for a Warden of the Sky to take her on for training, but at this point, the teenager was convinced such Jedi did not exist. A tale told to small children and nothing else. Was it going to stop her from hitch hiking across the space lanes and continuing to follow every lead she had? Nope, not at all.

Beat learning in some boring old Temple.

Having others at ‘his’ world was definitely an interesting feeling. Coren, like his contemporary, who was still alive at the time ish of this thread, Romi Jade Romi Jade , had taken over the protection of this world with its Jedi Temple, Witch Clan town, and the ExplorCorps center. The addition of the Sentinel/Shadow training center was more a secret idea. And it was easy to hide it as everyone was here focusing on the good vibes, the sun, the sea, and the warm breezes.

The fact that Jedi and their associates were already playing a bit of ball, on the beach? That made it even easier to enjoy the world. What Coren hadn’t expected was Iona Starchaser Iona Starchaser .

“Iona, didn’t expect to see you here. How are you?”

He knew that she should really link up with Kaia, as it seemed like Iona’s own gifts would lead her in that direction.

There was definitely something between the two, of Jared and Valery. It was just one of those weird things. He was, well, him, and she was probably the largest named Jedi since his father was on the scene before the fall of Coruscant. And seeing her like this? In that outfit? Well, even with his sunglasses it was clear he was eying her up and down.

He couldn’t hide the smile on his face, but this wasn’t even a place he should be hiding that. Jared wasn’t working on a hunting job, or trying to pull a fast one on someone. He hadn’t been a smuggler in a while, more explorer, trailblazer, and generic action hero.

“Absolutely. Better than running into people and trying to explain why I’m not bunking in the Jedi temple here.”
He laughed as he stretched, looking around, making sure none of the Temple Masters, or worse, Witch Masters were seeing him

Eyes widened with surprise when Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser made his way over to her. Iona was content to watch the crowds, people watch. People watching was much more interesting when there were a ton of folks who normally didn't make their way out this far. Tingel Arm was a hidden gem so to speak, one she enjoyed travelling through.

She was used to being on her own now at this point, so her own company sufficed in many situations. This, of course, would be no different. Iona was more than content to just sit on the sidelines. Until Coren decided to join her and check in.

"Oh, uh...I've been fine."
Well, she did try harassing Shan Pavond Shan Pavond for bandages. Seriously, who didn't help their fellow Mirialan?! "Just...in the spacelanes."

An awkward pause.

"How are you? How is...life?"

Lossa for her credit did not laugh as Lily stumbled through her name. Brow knitting together as the nervous energy the padawan was giving off, and wondering if maybe another intervention of sorts was needed to help her with her anxiety.

Accepting the treat in time to witness Lily realize there was a baby among them.

"A few weeks now. The expected way. I don't know. And during the attack." Answering each question without batting an eye. Keeping a cool flow through the whole process before frowning.

"If I had listened to Briana and done a follow up at the hospital after the rescue, I would have been good. But I didn't, and... yeah. A fling. I don't know genuinely." She frowned, knowing full well regardless of what she said, some rumor somewhere would catch fire about who it may be.

And she was gonna sit back and watch the firestorm it caused.

Ran asked about Sid, and a cheeky grin appeared knowing the Droid was probably well aware of her company with how fixated he had become with the second being he didn't call a meatbag randomly.

"Sid is my cousins murder robot she repurposed. I don't have a partner, but he's kept me company." Casting a look once more to the market stalls to finally see the head case staring her way. Waving at first before giving the Droid a thumbs up to keep SID-10S "Sid" SID-10S "Sid" from coming to investigate before he left someone wanting payment for whatever he'd gathered.
