Supply and Demand (Zetha Vesh)

"I'm not that much of a prick..." He shrugged a little caught off guard by the comment, he hadn't realized he came off in any way intimidating though he supposed she'd first met him when he was in the middle of cutting two bounty hunters down in front of her, couple that with her prior assumption that he was Sith, well he concluded that it wasn't much of a surprise in the end, as wrong as she was to think as much of him; "I do what I have to so I can move about freely and get what I want whenever the chance presents itself. Sometimes in this life you have to act tougher than you feel inside, just to push others away that might want to bully you into concession...-I can fear for things, I can feel for people and for myself though I've learned that it's better to keep such things to yourself, most people only want to exploit them...".

Finally he stood once more and this time, reached out to take [member="Zetha Vesh"] by the arm, the manner in which he grabbed her was gentle yet encouragingly so to the point of almost being forceful yet not hurting her any, he insisted she follow him to the cockpit, releasing her only when they entered the corridor that resembled much like the neck of the YT-1300, stepping forward to enter the small hexagonal sphere, his left hand pointing to the co-pilots seat that rarely saw any use. "Coruscant was a lucky break, those fighters withdrew on their own doing but thank you for taking the guns, the less damage to this old girl, the happier I'll remain" he half smirked to himself as his hands swept across the controls and the Freighter suddenly lurched to life, the vibrations of the engines returning to the floors and every other surface while the vessel whined into high gear, the thrusters igniting and sending them off at a high impulse. "Seeing as your my new crew mate, as wary as you might be...-I need a heading and I've no priorities so why don't you list a quiet place we might be able to settle down for a few days and I can service The Baccara".

Zetha let out a chuckle, closing her eyes and crossing her arms over her chest. She leaned back against the wall, listening to him talk about doing what he had to to survive, even if that meant appearing tougher than he actually was. He admired him for how he figured out how to survive out here. Maybe there was a certain pattern he followed to achieve his goals, followed a certain flow. She thought she was just interrupting that flow, but then he took her by the arm. At the touch, Zetha blinked, slightly shocked but then again she really shouldn't be. She was guided into the cockpit, where she was pointed towards the copilot seat. She stopped in the doorway, looking around the space.

In all honesty, she didn't know a thing about aircraft. She wasn't every taught how to fly something like this. She didn't understand what all these buttons meant. All the switches and dials. But she pretended like she did. Maybe it was time to take the initiative on something [member="Zarack Arkaos"] set in motion. She had to seem tougher, colder, harder than she actually was. Striding into the room confidently, she watched him work at the control board, sitting in the copilot's seat like she had owned it her entire life. "I haven't been to many systems." It was a confident truth. "But I've heard that one of the desert planets are good places to fix up a ship and no one really cares who you are."

A thought jumped into her mind, but she pushed it away. She couldn't go back there. She just couldn't. Fate took her away from that rock for a reason, she couldn't go back.

Zarack paused a moment, soon glancing across the dash to look to [member="Zetha Vesh"] sparingly, "Don't suppose it comes with a name by any chance?" He asked with a slight and quiet laugh under his breath. As long as people didn't care about their business then it meant smaller risk of being run up upon by raiders or worse, those looking to claim a bounty; really, he should have expected Coruscant to be a death trap. Looking back to the central terminal, the screen situated against the dash between the both of them, he reached out to touch it, triggering one of the tabs to open up the navigational functions and then display a holo-image overhead that showed them the entirety of the known galaxy, trade routes and all.

"Right now we're adrift somewhere between Coruscant and Velusia...-The Hydian way is our best bet for a quick exit of this system, it's the closest trade route to us so...-We could head for the Wyl Sector or the Arkanis Sector...", as far as desert planets went, Tatooine had been a whole last time Zarack had traveled there yet it sounded similar to what she was describing; that said, said planets with such a climate didn't exactly offer a whole hell of a lot else so it arguably made little difference.

"As for traveling, I don't tend to stay in the same place for too long. Guess that's one thing you can look forward to; having a price on your head generally means the longer you stay still, the easier you are to target...-I don't mind showing you the Galaxy if it means keeping my ass out of the fire..." His seat swivled to look away from Zetha while he turned to the second screen and initiated a quick systems diagnostic of the vessels shields and defensive armaments. The readout display coming back in green meant that The Baccara was good to go and wouldn't fall apart in the middle of a dog fight, she had the ware and tear still from the previous battle yet as brief as it had been meant that nothing vital had really been lit up.

"I don't know. Tatooine, Jakku. That place with all the slugs that everyone seems to love." She shrugged. "I only heard things from the lowlives that passed me by on Coruscant." She leaned back, lacing her fingers behind her head. In all honesty, she didn't know how helpful any of those places would be. She hadn't heard much about them, or if they were safe for people like [member="Zarack Arkaos"]. But it did seem like the bounty hunters spoke highly of it. Maybe on those worlds, no one cared what others had done. As long as they didn't upset the space slugs. That's what she heard a lot too.

Her attention was distracted by the holo-image in front of her. Almost as if she was in a trance, she leaned forward, rested her hands on the front console, and stared at it. If Zarack looked over at her, he would see the blue lights reflected in her eyes as a look of pure amazement rested on her face. Her eyes trailed the screen. Luckily, star maps were at the spaceport back home, and since the map was centred around her home system, she had gotten familiar with how it looked. Hell if she could read anything else.

"What about..." She spoke up, practically cutting him off. She had kind of zoned out, tuned him out too. She had found the system she was looking for. Her words trailed off as her mind relaxed, opening up to flashes of memories. Home. It had been so long since she had been home. She didn't know she missed it this much. That word resounded in her mind, home, so loud that the possibility it was subconsciously transmitted to Zarack's brain was huge. Home.

Zarack froze, his mind picking up on the telepathic connection between the two and honing in on it, concentrating as he tried to determine what it was that [member="Zetha Vesh"] was doing. It felt accidental, she hadn't meant to open herself up to be so vulnerable to the force and to his own affinity in it, he could tell that much by the Togruta's emotions that felt frenzied, intense and perhaps he could detect sadness in that she was thinking of her Home...-He quickly blocked her out of his mind, cancelling the affect her mental projection had had, ensuring that through the brief time, she could not read his thoughts or look into his past in the process; she seemed to have some strengths in telepathy, that was certain. "That's a powerful gift, Telepathy. It's not one I've had the time to truly build upon myself...-As you're likely already aware, you can transfer memories, thoughts and mental images to the minds of others. It can be intrusive but there's also a way to block it, to focus on your own mental barrier, a defense from letting others breach your mind...".

"Where exactly is Home, for you anyway?" He asked while he put in Tatooine's Co-ordinates, it a world that he had visited in the past and so held the advantage of being familiar with it already. While nothing would disturb their discussion, the Baccara suddenly lurched into motion as Zarack set the thrusters to full and then initiated the Hyperdrive, the hundreds upon thousands of stars out in front of them suddenly cascading into brilliant streaks of light that shot passed the cockpit, the vessel surging through to connect with one of the hyperlanes, the flight leading them enroute to the desolate planet in the outer-rim and Zarack hoping that they might avoid the hutts as they too had a love for all things financially corrupt.

Zetha let out an almost defeated sigh and closed her eyes, sitting back down. "Sorry." So she had really transferred all that to Zarack. She had let him see her memories, personal thoughts. She stole a glance at him. Was he scared of the vice versa? Of her reading his past? She wondered what he was hiding, but knew she would never pry. Instead, she focused on something else; home. But she also focused on keeping her thoughts to herself. "Shili. In the Ehosiq sector." He probably knew it was in that sector. "I just thought of it because I have a friend there, who's a mechanic. Could probably make this old hunk of metal good as new with one hand tied behind his back."

She chuckled at her small joke, but the laughter faded. She shrugged, the smile dropping from her face. "But I can't really go back there." Her voice held a tone of sadness at the lost home, and she suddenly got the feeling like Zarack would know the feeling personally. "Not anymore at least."

[member="Zarack Arkaos"]

"I doubt that's true" He replied somewhat bluntly, "Your homeworld will always be your homeworld and no one can take that from you. I understand mistakes of the past and all that, I've killed people back on my homeworld, it earned me the price I have on my head today though that doesn't stop me from returning. If you refuse to return because of your own guilt then that's another story but if you haven't already guessed, I'm not a fan of being told what to do nor do I like or believe in the fact that something or someone might keep us from achieving the things we wish for, or doing as we please" he shot her a confident glance before looking back to the controls in front of him and adjusting shields to the front of the vessel to account for the velocity in which they were moving.

[member="Zetha Vesh"] had lived alongside the Jedi Order, whatever she had done, in his mind it couldn't have been as bad as she thought given that they wouldn't take in criminals surely. The Caliber of a person mind you, wasn't exactly something that Zarack qualified to speak of. Not only had he abandoned his little brother but he had turned his back on his prior commitments to the Order of the Black Rose when it had best suited him, betraying his masters confidence and pursuing his own interests. Of course he hadn't planned for things to go this way though having been on his own for so long, it was only natural that he look out for himself first and foremost. Even with the Force and it's many possibilities that he knew so little about, there really hadn't been anything yet that he had yearned for enough so to follow anyone else.

Zetha shrugged and relaxed a little, sinking deeper into the copilot's chair. "Be that as it may, maybe we should just stick to going to Tatooine."
